i'll follow the sun was written by paul mccartney when he was 16 after he had the flu.
penny lane and strawberry fields forever are both based on childhood memories of paul and john.
i know this sounds unbelievable but lucy in the sky with diamonds was based on a painting by john's son julian about a girl from school. julian called it lucy in the sky w/diamonds and john liked the title. they didnt realize it could stand for LSD until later. totally coincidental.
yellow submarine wasn't from drugs either. paul wrote it in bed one night. they wanted to write a children's song for ringo to sing.
the first line of across the universe[words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup] was inspired by cynthia lennon because she wouldnt stop nagging poor john one evening. get it?
ringo's song octopus's garden was inspired by him talking to a chef about octopi.
the famous seven minute hey jude was written by paul for julian because of his parents divorce.
let it be was written because of a dream paul had about his mom. who had been dead for over 10 yrs.
norwegian wood was written about john's many affairs while he was w/ his 1st wife cynthia.
george picked up a novel one day and the first words he saw would be lyrics in a song. he picked one up and saw the words gently weeps. so he wrote while my guitar gently weeps.
julia was for john's mother.
love me do was supposed to have john singing lead but they changed to paul cuz only john new harmonica.
john disliked the songs 8 days a week & and your bird can sing
the line in glass onion the walrus was paul was written by john because he felt like paul was being left out. that was when he met yoko ono*hisses and hides under bed[with paul wink wink]*
blue jay way was written by george because a friend was stuck in traffic and george felt tired and impatient waiting for him.
they wrote and recorded the song help! in 2 days.
for you blue was written for pattie boyd and if u turn the volume all the way up u can here john clearly say "the queen says no to pot smoking fbi members."
at the end of strawberry fields 4ever u can here john say cranberry sauce for no apparent reason.when everyone first heard it they thought he said i buried paul.*if he did then i would go w/him*[wink wink]
