Hearts Take Flyte (Gaara Love Story) *Bios*
Chapter 2 : Hearts Take Flyte (Gaara Love Story) *Chapter 1*
Okay! Just a reminder, I made Gaara the Kazekage BEFORE the Shippuuden. If you don't like it, don't read. Simple as that. But I really hope that you give it a chance anyway. I'm praying that it will still be a good story.
[Cool! Colors!! Sorry, randomness!] I threw a pillow at the door. "Shut up, Tyler! And it's Flyte!! If you're gonna insult someone, at least get their name right!" I yelled back at him. There was silence for a moment. "Get up, Flyte! You're gonna be late for your first day of training!" he yelled back at me. I groaned and slowly pulled myself out of bed. I about choked on air when I saw what time it was. "7:00 a.m.?!" I fell back onto my bed and shut my eyes. Just then my alarm clock started blaring. I pulled the blankets up over my head, but it didn't block out the sound. "Alright, I'm up!" I yelled at nothing in particular. I took my own time getting dressed and ready for the day. I slumped into the living room, still half asleep. My mom was getting ready to leave for the rest of the day, my dad and Tyler were already gone. "Oh! Flyte, there's some leftover spaghetti in the fridge," she said to me before walking out the door. "Greeaat!" I groaned. I opened up the fridge to at least look at the spaghetti. A terrible odor flew out of the fridge as soon as I opened the door, and flies buzzed around the container with leftovers in it. I covered my nose from the smell. "Ugh!" 'That spaghetti was from last week, or was it the week before last? I can't remember. But it's no wonder it looks like that.' I said to myself. I closed the fridge door and put some pop-tarts in the toaster. My house sucked! There was never any good food, and it was always a mess. If it got any cleaning whatsoever, it was because I picked up a few things. The garbage was always full, the food was a science project, the floor was always sticky, and the dishes were never done. We always ate with paper plates and forks. I would usually clean it up a little bit, but I couldn't now where I had to focus on my training again. I jumped when the toaster popped and the pop-tarts flew out. I mean, literally flew! I caught them before they could hit the ground. They weren't that hot, I could handle it. I ate it on my way to training. I was told to meet my new mentor at the Kazekage Headquarters. I had never been there. But it couldn't be too hard to find. It was in the center of the village, the biggest building there was, how could I miss it? I sat down and finished my last pop-tart. Just as I did, someone walked around the corner and stood in front of me. He looked like the guy I was supposed to meet with. I stood up. He was about the same height as me. Maybe an inch or so taller, but not much. I looked at him expectantly. He took off his Kazekage hat to reveal the brightest red hair I had ever seen. But he made it look good. "Uhh...yeah?" I answered. "My name is Sabaku No Gaara," he informed me. "Okay," I said simply. "I am supposed to be your new mentor?" "I guess so," I shrugged. "You don't seem very excited." "I'm tired. I usually don't get up this early. Just give me a minute to wake up," I yawned. "We don't have a minute. Let's go." He turned and walked away. I ran after him. "Where are we going?" "Train. I wanna see what you can do. I have to see what you already know, so I know what I have to teach you," he explained. "Not a big talker, are ya?" "No, not really." From that moment to the time we reached the Sand Village Training Ground A, we remained silent. Not a word was said. When we got there, he took his fighting stance and I took mine. I jumped out of it in an instant though. "Wait! We're sparring?" I asked, surprised. "Why not?" he answered. "Well I just thought...nevermind. Let's do this!" We took stance again and I waited. I never make the first move, and he picked up on this pretty quick. A bolt of sand flew at me, I barely dodged it. 'Sh*t! That's fast!' I silently cursed. It went on like this for a minute. The sand played offense and I dodged it, each time getting away barely. It didn't take me long to figure out that he used sand as an attack. But I was getting tired of playing games. I looked around, scanning the scenery for something I could use to my advantage. There! A small indent in the surrounding wall. I jumped into it as he made his next move, so that he wouldn't see me. The sand stopped and I struggled to catch my breath in my hiding place. He walked forward slightly until he was standing right below me. I held my breath, too afraid he would hear me. But he was defenseless, looking around for me. I smirked. 'Now's my chance.' I told myself. I jumped out of the indent and aimed a kick right for the top of his head. My eyes widened when the sand came to his defense. My foot buried deep into it. The sand formed around my foot very tightly. 'This is gonna hurt!' I said silently. The sand latched onto my foot and flung me across the field. I landed hard on the ground, spitting out some sand that had gotten in my mouth when I hit the floor. "Yuck!" I said, wiping my mouth. I pulled myself up, though my knees were shaking. That last blow hurt, really badly. It knocked some of the wind out of me, but there was no way I was gonna let Gaara see that. That would be showing weakness. "You're pathetic!" he yelled at me. "You heard me! You're worthless as a ninja." I stomped over to him until I was right in his face. "Say it again! I dare you!" I threatened. "You're a disgrace to all Kunoichis," he pushed. I gritted my teeth, now he had really pissed me off. I threw a punch at him, but once again the sand blocked it from hitting him. I smirked. I did a few handsigns and disappeared, reappearing behind him. I quickly lifted my leg to kick him. The sand blocked it, but barely. I smiled an evil smile. That was exactly what I wanted. I had found his weakness. Speed. I did the same handsigns and reappeared back in front of him. He looked shocked. I punched him hard in the chest, the sand was too slow that time. He went flying backwards, landing on the ground just as hard as I did before. I strutted over to him, leaning down on my knees. "Don't ever, ever call me a failure again!" I grabbed his collar and lifted his head off the ground. "Or I'll kill you!" I warned him. He smiled slightly. 'Why is he smiling? He just lost!' I asked myself. Then I heard clapping from behind me. I turned and saw a girl with blonde hair clapping her hands. There was a guy with brown hair and purple makeup clapping his hands also. He was standing next to the girl, smiling proudly. "You passed!" Gaara said. "Passed? Oh! This was one of those test things that tell your sensei whether your cut out to be a ninja," I said, showing off. "Yep! And you passed!" the guy standing next to Gaara said. "With flying colors!" the girl added. "Sorry, Flyte. These are my older siblings. This is Kankuro, and this is Temari," Gaara informed me. I waved at them. "I'm...Flyte," I said, embarrassed. "We know," Temari said. "Great job! Your speed is incredible!" Kankuro complimented me. "And it didn't take you long to figure out my weakness," Gaara added. "Yeah. I'm like that. I can find people's weaknesses pretty fast," I said, rubbing the back of my neck. "That will come in handy in the future," Temari said. I nodded. I rubbed my now growling stomach. "I'm hungry," I blurted. "Come on. I'll buy the four of us lunch," Temari offered. I shrugged and followed the three of them to the ramen shop nearby. At first, I felt a little uncomfortable with them. But I got to the point where I could be myself, once I got to know them. They weren't that bad. But I still felt bad that I kicked my sensei's butt. I should've been proud, but for some reason I wasn't. I kicked the Kazekage's a$$! I should've been put in prison or something. I guess he needed to know what he was getting himself into. No one calls Flyte Mitashi a disgrace and gets away with it! =P After ramen, Temari and Kankuro had to leave. Gaara invited me to hang out with him for a little while. Anything is better than going back to my smelly messy house, so I accepted. I followed him to the roof of the Kazekage Headquarters. It was amazing! I never realized how big the village was! And that roof gave a really great view of the whole Sand Village! "So, tell me about yourself," Gaara said. "Me? Um...what do you want to know?" I asked. "Anything." "Like what?" "Is anything simple with you?" he questioned. I shook my head. "Like...what are your hobbies? What are your dreams? Your skills? Your weak points? What's your family like? Things like that," he described. "Um. My hobbies? I like to be myself, and live life to the fullest. I don't really care what people think of me. My dreams? It's a little far-fetched-" "Tell me," Gaara interrupted. "Well...I wanna become the first female Kazekage. But I would have to either surpass you, or wait 'till you die. And I know I can't surpass you. And you aren't gonna die anytime soon. I mean, you look my age. How old are you?" I ventured. "14," he answered simply. "See? You are as old as me. I'm 14 too." "But we're talking about you, so...go on," he commanded. "Oh, right! My skills are finding people's weaknesses and using them to my advantage, like I did today. My weak points lie in weaponry. I can't aim to save my life. My family? Well...we're your basic happy, loving family. My parents were so proud of me when I became a ninja, and my brother is a really great person," I lied. He thought for a moment. "When you say your weak points are weapons, what do you mean?" "Exactly what I said. I can't aim. If I throw straight, it'll fly to the side. I can't aim, simple as that." "I see." "What about you?" I trailed. "Me?" "Yeah. I just told you about me, now what about you?" "There's nothing really great about me," he said, looking dazed out over the village. "Your siblings seem pretty cool," I pushed. "They're okay." Apparently he didn't want to talk about it, and I wasn't gonna push him. He might throw me off the roof if I pissed him off. And I don't think I'd come back from that one. That's a long ways down! The sun went down eventually and the stars made their first appearance of the night. I've always liked the view of the stars the Sand Village had. It was so pretty. But there, on the roof of the Kazekage Headquarters, it was perfect. "I have to go," Gaara said. He stood up and began walking away. Before he went out of sight completely, he turned to me. "The real training starts tomorrow. 7:00," he said. I flipped around. "Why so early?" I complained. "Because I have things I need to do tomorrow afternoon, and I want to start before it gets too hot." I didn't say anything. That was as clear an answer as you could get. I just layed back and admired the stars. Then it hit me! I jumped off the roof, landing on my feet. Another cat quality of mine. I ran home as fast as my feet would take me. No one was home, they must've went out for dinner or something. So I ran up to my room and began doing research. I needed to know more about my mysterious new sensei. [Okay, not the best first chapter. I got writers block right in the middle of the story. But I tried my best. The next chapter will be better, I promise. Well, I hope you liked it anyway. On with the questions! Why does Flyte want to know more about her sensei? Does she suspect him for something? What kind of things does Gaara have to do the next day? Probably normal Kazekage stuff. =P What does Temari and Kankuro think of Flyte? This and more answered next time.]
(Flyte)
"Flit! Hey, Flit! Get out of bed!" Tyler called outside my door.
Actually it was a pretty nice day. The wind wasn't blowing, so the sand wasn't flying everywhere, which was always nice. It drives me crazy when I'm training and the sand gets in my way by getting in my eyes, or irritating my nose. I walked 'til I was standing right outside the headquarters. 'Well, I was told to wait here. No one said to go inside.' I thought to myself.
"Flyte Mitashi?" he asked.
That took me off guard. "What?!" I asked.

I looked back down at Gaara, but he was gone. All that was left was a shell of sand, shaped like him. I dropped the shell, confused. I stood up and saw Gaara standing next to the guy with the makeup. He also looked pretty proud. I was more confused then ever.
