My alarm clock never rang. I awoke to pattering of rain on my window, the house silent, my mother already gone for work. I sat up as nasea overtook me, my head swimming in apathy. Looking around, my room was colder and lonlier as ever, Samantha had probaly already left. Checking my neck, I felt the two spots where she bit me. Looking closer in a mirror, They had already healed into small red marks. Walking back into my room, I checked the alarm to find it already 7:49. School would start in eleven minutes.
"Aaah damn it." I groaned. "Why the hell did she bite me?" I wondered why I wasn't more surprised. She was a vampire, I, a human. She bit me cause she was hungry. I knew the whole deal. "A vampire atmy new school? Doesn't suprise me one bit, I guess I'll just try and avoid her." I pulled on some new clothes and ran as fast as I could to the school, missing breakfast, and an umbrella. Finally reaching the school at 8:15. I walked in soaked to find, that nobody was staring at me. They walked and laughed and joked, and nobody was looking at me. "What the hells going on, first vampires and now I'm invisible." I groaned. No sooner hadI said those words, that samantha appeared in front of me. "You sure do like to pop up, eh Vampire?" I said, my tone very angry. She shifted a bit, her eyes more sincere then emotionless. She looked like she was trying to coax words out of her. "Samuel....about last night...." She idled, so I decided to step in. "You know what? I don't care, first I'm bit by a backstabber like you, then I become invisible to everyone. Im sick of it!" I turned towards the door. "I'm sick of it all, forget this, Im outa here!" I ran out of the school, hearing Samantha calling me, but I payed no mind.
I ran as fast as I could, not looking where I was going, the rain pattering my clothes and skin. Finally, running into town, I ran into an alley. Sitting down, I curled up, my arms around my legs, my head resting on my knees. I recalled the words she said as she bit me. "The only way." I scoffed, whatever. After awhile the rain stopped and I could feel another presence next to me. Samantha had her arms around me as she next to me. I could feel her gaze, but I ignored her. "Samuel... will you let me talk to you?" I only shook my head for a yes. "Well" She began "You know those girls, there vampires to. The whole school is. You came here by mistake." I couldn't believe it, I was the only human there? "They attacked me when I was protecting you, they were right in your backyard. They injured me greatly, and I was only able to make it to your room." I stayed silent. "Your blood saved me Samuel, you saved me."
A minute passed when I finally spoke. "And riley? Why didn't he ever attack me?" She quickly answered. "He is a less mature vampire, his feeding instinct hasn't been grasped yet. He's safe for a few years. Even then, he still wouldn't hurt you, even if he was dying." We both stayed silent before I pulled my head up, looking her in the eyes. Looking into hers as she looked into mine, we both moved in for a kiss, as the rain began to start again. In the distance, Riley watched us both. "Why Samantha? I wanted him for myself, somone to love." A single tear rolled down his cheek.
