Chapter Eleven: Love


Adriana faced the Volturi with cold gem like eyes."I'm not going to see Edward again,am I?" She asked in a flat tone,bare of all hope.

"That all depends on you,dear." Aro said,his voice void of all encouragment,kindness,and excitment."We understand that you killed Ester and Kail,is this correct?" He asked as the images of last years encounter and battle with the vengeful Ester and her new mate,Kail.

"Yes.I did not kill Kail thought.Edward and Emmett killed him." She said leaving out the fact that the wolves helped.That ment Jacob's help in killing the deadly vampire."And I am the one who killed Ester,no one helped me." She clarified as they nodded glancing at each other.

"And how was this possible.You are but half a vampire.Excluding strength and invulnerablility.It is vurtially impossible for you to kill such a powerful vampire such as Ester Flouce." Marcus said,Adriana had not known Esters last name.She never spoke it,nor did her father.This fact hit her hard,Ester had been human once.That demon of a woman had been human in her lifetime.

"I am sure you all know of Ester's power.It seemed to have to opposite affect on me.That is what Edward,Carlisle,and Jasper came to,at least." Adriana said thinking back to how she had bitten at Edward's arm for holding her back.Though the strength part of that encounter had worn off,thank god.

"Understood,but whay prevolked you to kill them? They were of no problem of yours." Marcus said making Adriana tilt her head back as a laugh escaped her lips.Some of the vampired behind the chairs hissing.

"They were a big problem for us.They tried to kill me,then the kill my father.Then they try to kill me again.Do not get cross with me just because I was defending myself.And the Cullen family helped because they took it upon themselves to take care of me.On behalf of my father." She said as the nodded again.

"Now,tell us what is your current condition? Ambrose thinks you have matured as a vampire,is this so?" Caius asked as Adriana looked to the stone floor.

"Yes.After that battle....Actually during that battle Ester had bitten me...." She whispered instinctivly touching the cool cresent chaped scar on her neck."I was bleeding to death,then Kail threw me into the forest,somehow thrusting me into a branch,which punctured my kidny.Causing more severe bleeding to occur.After these events,Edward....." She trailed off touching the side of her neck that he bit her on,changing her further into a vampire.This mark was more noticable,cold instead of cool.Her eyes closed as the memory of their reunion filled her mind,a light red blush appearing on her cheeks,as her thoughts driffed to their dance that night.Clair de Lune was now the song that reminded her of their time together,and it always would."Edward bit me.Changing me more into a vampire.My healing abilities hightened,my skin is as hard as stone now,I am slightly faster then before,and I'm strong enough to lift a truck over my head.But my heart still beats,and blood still runs through my veins,calling to him.Calling to Edward.And this tempts him everytime we kiss.Everytime he touches me." She whispered closing her eyes once again.Wishing she could feel him hold her once more.

"Understandable.Now,about this human...." Adriana's eyes opened quickly as she paniced looking into Aro's eyes.

"If I may,Masters." Ambrose said stepping forward.All three looked at him.

"Speak quickly,Ambrose." Aro said smiling slightly.

"Thank you.The information about the human is invalid.She died in a car accident just one month ago.And I kept tight serveillance on her.She told no one." Ambrose said stepping back once more.They all nodded,again.

"Understood.Now,Adriana Joanne Reed.We understand that you can sing,beautifully in fact.Will you sing us a song as evidence?" Aro asked,smiling over at her.Adriana nodded looking down at the stone floor."But first,dear.What is that in your back pocket?" He asked talking Adriana by surprise.She slowly took something from her back pocket.There indeed had been soemthing,a small folded up piece of paper.It read on the front,in beautiful script: AdriaAdriana gasped slightly,opening the paper and reading it.It read:

Adria,this note is for you alone,my love. Forgive me for sliping this into your pocket during our embrace and our last kiss. But it was the only way for me to talk to you alone.And if you are reading this,the Volturi must have come to the conclusion that you and I are not to be together any longer. I am just as heart broken as you. But as long as you have this,along with my heart. I will always find you again,in this life or the next one....though I wish we were going to the same place. My clumsy angel. My Adria. My Adriana. My one and only,forever and always I will be yours. My heart,my soul,my body,my mind. You stole it all the moment we met,in 1901 in that hospital room. You sang to me,your voice soft and gentle. The next day you came,I was in worse shape. You cried tears for me. The third day was the final time I would see or hear from you as a human man. Or at all for over one hundred years. You kissed me without fear of who would see. That is why I decided to kiss you in front of everyone. I knew you would deny all of this. You would pout and throw a tantrum like a child. But that is all the more of you to love. Adria,since that day,I have been searching for those very lips. Strange that I found them in such a place as Forks,Washington. At a high school no less. Our first contact was not good. Nor was our second.... That was far worse then the first. But the third did the charm,didn't it? Yes,I believe is did. My beloved one,holder of my heart. This ring is for you.

Adriana had started crying from the start.Her tears showing no signs of stopping.She looked at the tiny pocket made of paper at the bottom of the letter.She slowly took out what was placed in there.Her tears increased as she pulled out a pair of rings.



She looked at them tears still falling as she glanced at the bottom of the paper.

P.S.The one with the big diamond is the engagment one,the second ring is the wedding band.

She giggled lightly looking at the rings.The engagment one was engraved.Reading:Forever in my heart.Forever in my mind. It was clear that she was in Edward's heart and mind.And visversa.Adriana put the engagment ring on second,both fitting perfectly on her left ring finger.Adri then smiled and looked at the Volturi who were all waiting patiently.I suppose being over one thousand they should be patient for a few minutes."Thank you for waiting,this is a song for my beloved,he is forever and always in my heart and mind." Adriana murmured taking a deep breath,exhaling she started to sing,her eyes closed and her hands gently placed over her heart.

Adriana had fresh tears in her eyes as she slowly stopped humming.Everyone was in shock,even Emmett,Edward,and Jasper could hear her beautiful song,her unmistakably gorgeous voice."Beautiful,simply spactacular,Adriana." Aro said standing up and applauding her song.Adri just bit her lower lip and allowed her tears to fall down her cheeks.

"Was their anything else you wanted? Or are you going to kill me now?" She asked as Aro looked at his brothers.

"We must debate that,young one.We offer you to join us of course." He said,hoping that she'd say yes.

"I must decline.I am sorry." She said in a dry voice,her eyes still on the ground.

"As you wish.Now,go to him.He is waiting,we will sent Ambrose with the conclusion,young one." Aro said shooing her away toward the door with his hand.Adri nodded walking calmly to the door,though her tears seemed to increase into sobs as she passed through to the other side.She stumbled slightly as she ran,ran to the lobby like area where Emmett and Jasper were,and of course Edward as well.

"Edward!Edward!!EDWARD!!!!!" She screamed in her now hoarse voice.Bursting through the final doors,where he stood,in all his god like beauty.She hadn't noticed what he was wearing before.A pair of black jeans with all black converse.A dark blue cotton button up shirt,of course the sleeves were rolled up to reveal his pale forearms.He spun around toward the doors she had just burst through.

"Adriana!" Edward gasped holding his arms out for her to run into,though she was already running as she slammed into him.Her tears never stopping as sobs ripped from her chest.Her face burried into his chest.His in her hair as they embraced.For a while she was clawing at his back,trying to get closer somehow.Emmett and Jasper sat on a cushioned bench watching their little reunion.Their love stronger then ever now.

"See,I told you she'd come back.She may be clumsy but when it comes to finding Edward,there's no mistaking it." Jasper whispered smirking as Emmett handed him a twenty from his black leather wallet.

"Whip that smirk off your face,you disgust me.Betting on our sis like that." Emmett pouted,a chuckle coming from Jasper.

"Oh,stuff it.You bet she'd fall at least once while running back here.That is if she was coming back...." Jasper whispered his gloating turned to anger at the thought of Adriana not returning to them.Emmett was mirroring his brothers anger.What if this was the last time they got to see her.Adri's sobs slowly faded to whimpers,her body trembling.Edward glanced behind him.

"My jacket." He simply said as Jasper tossed it to him.Edward then wrapped it around Adriana's shoulders.She put her arms through the sleeves and took in his sweet scent,as he buttoned it up.Tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear after."Better now?" He asked as she shook her head."No?I'm sure they will let us go.They have no real reason to kill us.And Aro doesn't want to upset Carlisle.He adores him." He said stroking her tear stained cheek.Adriana quickly pulling his hand to her lips as she kissed each one of his finger tips.Stopping and going back to his left ring finger."You got my note?" He whispered as she nodded."So,is that a yes?" He asked as she opened her eyes.

"You don't have to ask.It should be obvious by now." She said pulling his face down for a kiss.Edward kissing back with full force.Their lips moving as one as she melted,her heart beating faster then a speeding train.

"We can do the purposal formally after we get out of here." He whispered pulling her to sit down on the bench opposite of Emmett and Jasper,Adriana leaning onto Edward,his right arm tightly around her shoulders,his left hand placed in her lap to be played with.

"Whoo! So you two getting hitched or what?" Emmett asked the cheer back in his voice.Adrian blushed lightly.

"I am an old fashioned girl you know.I believe in marrage.Unlike some new aged teens I know." She whispere refering to Jacob and Bella,along with some of the other boys.After she said that though."But that is only if I get out of here.I won't allow them to hurt you guys.....I'm sure it's only me they would kill.Caius and Marcus don't like what I am." She whispered,gently pressing her lips to Edwards palm before placing it on her cold cheek.Their love is what was keeping her from breaking down at that moment.Her love for her family and for her lover.
