That first night you realized you forgot your blanket that your mother made for you. Tears were streaming down your face while you whined to bakura "Please!! We have to go back in get it please please please please please?!?!? " You were on the verge of throwing a temper tantrum, you had just recently learned that those would work in your favor. "No, we can leave yet sagira!!" He said, "there may still be some guards out there!!" that immediately shut you up, no way were you going back to those scary men. "When can we leave?" you asked him. "I'd say we'd leave when ½ our food runs out. That way we'll still have a chance to make it accost the desert and to the nearest town, where did all your training go sagira? I learned this months ago!!" he tells you. "Well unlike some people I only started training this year…Bakura?" you ask him. "Hum?" he says walking around the cave and picking up some sticks. "Will we ever get finished training?" you ask him. He stops for a second and looks at you " of coarse we will you silly girl." He says rolling his eyes and mumbles something barley audible but what you did catch were the words "stupid" "good' 'nothing' and 'girl' which made you pout. Eventually bakura got the fire going and you fell asleep. The days passed by slowly with nothing to do. Some times you'd fight with Bakura, just a children's squabble. Other times you would actually fight fight using sticks you found as swords. Some days you would just talk, or sleep, once you pretended to be cave men (did they have cavemen in Egypt? Oh well they do now) and painted on the walls with rocks and mud, eventually though the food got thinner and you decided to leave the safety of the cave.

When you got out from behind the waterfall your eyes burned. You groaned and covered yourself from the blinding sun. Everything around you was so bright it hurt to even open your eyes. You took your cloak and wrapped it around you so that the sun wouldn't hurt you anymore. You heard bakura come out from under the waterfall too, laughing. He had put the few supplies you had left into his cloak, like a makeshift bag, and slung it over his shoulder. "You look funny." He said passing you. You hadn't' realized you were squatting on the ground. You straightened yourself up and brushed off your cloak the sun still burned your eyes and you moaned again. "You know if you would just let your eyes adjust then you'd be fine… you lived in the sun before remember?" bakura said then he got quiet for a second. " I think we'll have to…" he trailed off, and you realized what he was thinking. "Go back." You finished for him. He nodded "and try to find more supplies." He whispered. You filled up your water pouches and set off. This time you weren’t running so it took you 3 days to get back. (Man we ran fast and far…. me- yeah you would too if you were about to be killed *glare *) when you got to the town gates the sand turned black. There wasn’t much left at all. There were a bit of the frames of the buildings left, the big fountain of fresh water in the middle of the town was still running, but the water was red. You walked down the streets in silence. The first house you saw that was semi-intact you both went into. A silent agreement that you would take the items you needed was made and you started to dig through the rubble. You found shards of glass and clay, a bit of gold jewelry, which you put on, for you know gold is valuable and you could use it later, even if it was abnormally large on your small body. Once that house was done you moved to the next one and the next one. Once Bakura found human bones. Even him, the tough boy yelled and dropped them, he told you not to go over there and quickly moved to the next house. When you got to where your street had been the wind tousled your hair a bit. You looked around to see Bakura about 20 feet behind you and he nodded. You took a step down the once familiar rode. Now black as everything else in this burned down town. Soon you came to your house. You put your hand one the door (one of the only parts still up) and stopped, you couldn't do it. You backed away and right into bakura, you hadn't heard him walking with you. He grabbed your shoulder in a comforting way and with his other hand opened the door.

You took a few steps into the room, tears welling up in your eyes. You could still see your house the way it was before the bad men came. The walls up light trickling in. The rug you always tripped on in the living room, the chair you father would sit on and tell you stories of his "glory days" as a thief. You could almost hear your mother humming a song as she worked around the house. You looked to where your bedroom would have been; you were the only girl so you got the room to yourself. There was a big bed and a chest of drawers with all your stuff in it, and the secret door you kept your 'valuables' in. when your remembered that part everything went away, to how it was now. Burt. You walked into your room and kneeled on the floorboard lifting up one of them. Inside of it was a book on how to fight well; you were learning how to read with this book, a bit of candy that your father had brought back for you a day before the fire and a ring. It was your mother's it was gold with a blood red stone in it you put it on, like the other stuff you had found it didn’t fit. Right then and there you broke down and cried. You must have been crying of at least a good hour because you could hear Bakura moving from house to house on your street. You were glad he didn’t come and check on you, you don’t want to let that boy see you crying. But when your tears ran dry you got up and looked around. The sun wasn’t at its highest point in the sky anymore. It had moved considerably, it must have been at least 2 hours since you had gotten to the city. You made sure you had all of your stuff and got up. You left your house for the very last time. You wandered the streets again. This time not looking for supplies, but bakura. You passed the place you were playing hide and seek at a few days ago, the fruit stand, and the training house you finally ended up on Bakura's street. You could see him in his house, even though it was the last one on the block. He was sitting in the middle of the ashes and you thought you saw water drip down his nose. But Boys cant cry can they? You decided to go and get him if you were going to make a good start to the closets town you needed to leave and soon. It was 5 days on horse back, 7 for a grown man walking, seeing as you were just kids it may take 10-12 days. When you got closer to bakura you could hear him, he was crying. You tried to turn around and let him be but you stepped on a twig. Bakura snapped his head up to see your back and your head turning around to see if he had seen you. He snapped his head away and rubbed his face on his sleeve. "Darn ashes got in my eye." You hear him say and he stands up. "Okay, lets go sagira, we have all that we can carry I think, the food will become lighter all to quickly." He walks away not looking you in the eye. You stand there for a second dumbfounded, that he couldn’t just admit he was crying, he didn’t have to be so meaning about it. Then you sprinted to catch up with him. You eventually make it to the next town, which was a respectable town unfortunately. But bakura said that his tutor always said "their ahs to be a good thief in every town you just gotta know what to look for. They have to help you according to the thief's code.' That’s only one of the many rules in the code." You looked at him confused. "MAN you ARE stupid!! What DID they teach you?' He asks looking at all the people in the street. "How to fight and read," you respond. "THER!" he points at some man pick pocketing, what looked to be the richest man in town? "Follow him!!" Bakura whispers to you. Okay that’s all I'm gonna write for now…..um Until next time you can just wonder who the pickpocket is m'kay?
