You were sitting in the back seat of the car with Jimmy lying down, head in your lap (not like that people, your best friends, almost like brother and sister), while his mother and step-father were sitting in the front. You were looking out the window, listening to your iPod, trying to ignore Jimmy’s mother trying to get him to talk. “Jimmy, please say something.” She said. But of course, Jimmy just ignored her. “James.” Said his step-father. “What? Who are you? Mom, I thought you told me never to talk to strangers.” Jimmy replied. Inside you were thinking to yourself ‘oh wow Jimmy, how original’, but your thoughts were interrupted by his mom. “Like I said before Jimmy, please be nice to your new step father.” Now of course you couldn’t help but roll your eyes at that, though you kept silent, wanting to know the ‘oh so marvelous’ (please note the sarcasm) come back Jimmy would use this time. “Ok rich guy,” He said while sitting up. “I love it that you’re twice as old as my grandfather, and that you’re fat, and bald.” Of course by now you were just dying inside from restrained laughter. “That’s enough, I’ve had it with you, you little brat! I don’t get how Jessica puts up with you.” Yelled his mother. “Her name is Jesse!” He replied. “You’ve upset your mother. I’ve got half a mind to beat you.” Interrupted his step-father. “Half a mind is right. Suddenly he realizes.” Was Jimmy’s comeback. At this point you couldn’t help but let a little chuckle escape your mouth. Luckily for you though, it went unheard. You did NOT want to be dragged into this argument. “I can’t believe you, you little monster. We’ll deal with you when we get back from our honey moon. Next year.” Yelled his mother. Putting extra emphasis in the word ‘year’. You and Jimmy were just silent for a moment as you pulled up next to a big iron gate. “Here we are kids, Bullworth Academy.” Said Jimmy’s step-father as you were taking out your head phones and putting your iPod in your messenger bag. As you and Jimmy were getting out of the car his step-father said “Have fun Jimmy, I’ll think of you from our cruise ship.” You could just here the deep sarcasm radiating off his voice of Jimmy’s mother laughed. “Whatever”. Said Jimmy as you rolled your eyes. Even your parents weren’t that cruel when you said your good-bye. But you guess that’s because they don’t hate you as much as his do him. You stood there with Jimmy watching his parents drive off in badly disguised haste as he said to himself “Mom, why did you marry that phony? What’s wrong with you? Ugh, I can’t believe this.” You felt a little bad for him, so you tried to lighten things up. “You know,” you said. “Things could be a lot worse.” He scoffed. “Like how?” You stood there for a moment thinking when you just gave up and said “Ok, so this is as bad as it gets, but hey, look on the bright side. No more listening to your mothers nagging.” “I guess that’s true.” He said as a woman walked up behind you two, though Jimmy failed to notice, wearing a woman’s suit, with short blond hair that was curled out at the ends. “You must be the Hopkins boy.” “Whoa, where did you come from.” Exclaimed Jimmy. “Ah, and the Barker girl. Always a pleasure to have one of the schools biggest benefactors daughter attend our humble school. We’ve been expecting you two. Welcome to Bullworth Academy.” She said, making this giant hand gesture, making her look, in your eyes, totally fake. “I’m sure you’ll be happy here. Very happy indeed.” As she said this you couldn’t help but think ‘yeah right’ while trying to hide a scoff. “Anyway, I can’t spend my life waiting around for naughty little children. I’ve got a man to make happy. The headmaster is expecting you two, in his study.” “Ok.” Jimmy said, turning around to walk away from the buildings. “His study is over there boy,” She said, pointing toward a big building in the center of all the rest as Jimmy turned back around. “In the main building. Don’t keep Dr. Crabblesnitch waiting. He’s a brilliant man, brilliant.” Just the way she said it you weren’t sure if she was in love with the man, or if she wanted to eat him for lunch. Anyway, you and Jimmy headed threw the gate, followed by the woman, sharing a glance which said it all. ‘If the secretary is this bad, I wonder how bad the rest are.’ Well, you’ll soon find out. Moments later you and Jimmy found yourselves in the doorway of an antique looking office that had a musky smell, with an older man sitting behind a desk, yet to notice you two. As you walked a little farther in he took notice and said “Ah, you must be Hopkins and Barker.” While gesturing towards two seats in front of his desk. “Ugh, uh-huh.” Jimmy said in a tone that just screamed ‘bored’ while walking to the seats with you right behind him, after giving a bored ‘yeah’. “What? ‘Uh-huh’ and ‘yeah’ what?” Dr. Crab (your new nickname for him) said. “We meant yes sir.” Added Jimmy while you just nodded your head and took a seat, Jimmy soon taking the one next to you. “Very good,” Said Dr. Crab, turning his attention to a folder. “Now let me see. Let looks at you first mister Hopkins. My, you’ve done a lot of naughty things haven’t you? Vandalism, graffiti, bad language, violent conduct, disrespecting staff, and dragging miss Barker along with you. Oh I’m scarred of you Hopkins.” He finished while putting fake fear in his last sentence. “Come on, gimme a break.” Jimmy said, leaning back in his chair as you sat there trying to get the heads attention. “Yes, I’ve never met a boy like you. Never in all my life,” He said while standing up and walking around as he spoke. “Hopkins, you’re quite the nastiest little boy I’ve ever encountered.” By now you just gave up trying to be polite and said “but it wasn’t his entire fault. I wanted to help, and it was all my doing just as much as it was his.” “Don’t be silly. Now while I admire your want to help your friend, an innocent girl like you could never do anything so disrespectful.” When he said the word innocent, you heard Jimmy give a chuckle before catching himself. As you sent him a glare Dr. Crab continued. “Now tell me Hopkins. WHY should I waste my time on you?” “I don’t know.” Was Jimmy’s reply. “Because it’s my calling, it’s what I do. You Excel in causing trouble, and I excel in fixing little boys like you, and making you into respectable members of our community here at the Academy. I’ve got a good feeling about you boy,” He said coming to a spot in front of you two. “A feeling you and I are going to be great friends. You keep that nose clean boy, or I shall clean it myself. As for you Miss Barker, there is no doubt in my mind that you will do your best. Just remember, Bad company, corrupts good morals.” As he said the last part you could see his eyes slightly shift to Jimmy, who replied it with a small glare. You cut the tension in the air with a reply. “Yes sir, I’ll try my best. Thank you for your wise words.” You said with a smile. In the corner of your eye you could see Jimmy trying to hold in his laughter as Dr. Crab smiled at you. “Yes, I have a feeling you may come to be one of my best students. Miss Danvers, are you back yet?” he called into the other room. After he said that, in she rushed, carrying a tray with a tea pot, sugar bowl, and a cup. “Yes headmaster and I got your tea.” She said in an adoring way that solved your earlier debate. She sooooo liked him…………..EW. “You are good to me Miss Danvers.” The headmaster said. “No more then you deserve, headmaster.” Was her reply as she set the tray on his desk. “Take our new friends here and show them around the school, and get them properly attired.” Dr. Crab said. “Certainly headmaster. Come along you two, I haven’t got all day.” When she addressed you two, her kind and gentle voice just completely disappeared. As you two were walking toward the door Dr. Crab said “And boy, remember, you will have a clean nose. So keep it clean, or we’ll clean it for you.”
So there you were, at probably the worst school in the country, whose alumni are nothing but arms dealers, serial killers, and corporate lawyers. Real scum, and that old creep thought he could tame you? We shall see my friends. You only give people what they have coming to them.
Well, as it turns out, as soon as you left the office, and the doors were closed, Miss Danvers made up some dumb excuse not to show you around. She handed you guys a map, and pointed the way to the dorms, telling you to go get in our uniform at once. So you left the office and started walking out of the building when you finally broke the ice. “What a creep. Can you believe he actually thinks we’ll do as he says?” “I know. Man will he be in for a surprise.” Was his reply. “I wander what their auto shop looks like, or how big their library is.” You said. “Here we go. You talking about cars, bikes, or books. Hey, I just remembered. What about the boxing tournaments? Or the girls tennis and soccer teams. Oh, and lets not forget the chess team.” He said with a bit of a laugh in the last sentence. “I’m sure they can all last with out me. I mean, sure I’m gonna miss everyone, and I’m gonna miss boxing and sports. But I’m sure they have a chess team here, and some kind of sport for me to do. Also, for your information, I don’t always talk about cars, bikes, or books.” You snapped. “Well you do most of the time.” He added. “Oh shut up.” You said. Finally you two came to a fork in the path (lol). As you looked at the signs on the arch ways you saw ‘Girls dorm’ to the left, and ‘Boys dorm’ to the right. “Well me amore (French for friend or something like that), I guess this is where we part ways.” You said. “Yeah, I’ll come meet you outside the girls dorms ok?” he said. “Ok,” you answered. “See you in a bit.” And with that you split up.
When you walked into the girl’s dorm you saw an old woman standing there. “Ah, you must the new girl, Miss Barker. I’m Mrs. Peabody. The girl’s dorm hall monitor. I’m here to show you to your room. Fallow me.” As you two were walking up the stairs she was explaining to you the rules. Such as no boys (though you were sure Jimmy would find a way to see you), curfew time, lights out time, blah blah blah. “Oh yes, you will be sharing a room with someone. I hope that’s ok.” “Sure, I guess.” Ha, Jimmy, lets see what you do now. As you finally reached a room, you saw a girl sitting at a vanity putting on make-up. She wasn’t really in a uniform. She wore leather pants, a leather jacket with cheetah print, and a pink shirt under that. She had short brown hair, and a pug looking face (I think). but despite that, she was very beautiful. “Miss Barker, this is Lola Lombardi. Lola, this is your new room mate, Jessica Barker.” Introduced Mrs. Peabody. “Hi there. It’s nice to meet you Jessica.” Lola said as she got up to come shake your hand. “Please, call me Jesse. It’s nice to meet you too.” With that you too became fast friends. As you changed into your own version of the school uniform (a white button up blouse with a tie that had the school crest on it, some baggy black slacks and some vans shoes) and unpacked, the two of you talked, just getting to know each other. When you were done you must have been sitting there talking for about half an hour when you realized you had better hurry before Jimmy got impatient. “Well, as fun as this is, I have to go meet a friend outside. But we’ll talk more later, ok?” You said, sad to have to end the good time. “That’s fine, I have somewhere to be also. We’ll talk later. See ya.” And with that she was out the door. You walked down the stairs and outside to see Jimmy waiting for you.
