Chapter 2: Entrusted

"It's not much. It's just 8 boxes and my lounge bag need to be unpacked." Ayumi said as she pointed out two boxes. "Could you move those two boxes into my room?"

"Sure." I said simply, picking up the two boxes moving them from the living room to her room. I placed the boxes next to the bed and looked around. Like the living room, her bedroom was well furnished. Instead her bedroom had light purple walls and white carpet. Her furniture was mostly white or shades of purple. I heard her come in and I turn around the face her. Ayumi lift her lounge bag into her room and placed it in front of the closet.

"Did you decorate this place before you moved here?" I just had to ask. People usually take a day or two to move in. This girl had it easy.

"Nah, All I did was convince Mitsuomi to live by myself and he took care of the rest. Well I did go furniture shopping with him. He wouldn't let me pick which place to stay at! He said I am staying where he picks! I bet he picked this place is because he knows you live across me and that he told you to keep an eye on me did he?"

"Yep! That's a nice guess. You're pretty smart. It gets even better, I going to Todo Academy too" I responded with a grin, "It's gonna be my first year. So, we might end up taking classes with each other."

I watch her slightly pout at the situation but she changed it to a smiling face.

She's pretty when she smiles...Wait what the hell did I just thought?

"Oh well, my brother had his reasons. At least I know someone in my freshmen class and I won't be alone in school."

What? Won't be alone?

"What you mean by that? Don’t you have some friends going to Todo Academy?" I ask her with a question look. I watch her sat down onto the carpet in front of her lounge and opened it.

"Well all of my close friends are going to different high schools most of them are moving away. My friends who I usually fight and train with said they don’t want to go to Todo Academy. Yeah I give them calls and hang with them once in a while, but it's not the same. I do have Emi and Bunshichi as my friends but they're not going to be at the same school all their life."

I sat down on to the carpet in front of the boxes and ruffled my silver hair. "Oh I see..." I turn my head to look at her. She has a slightly sad look on her face. Way to go Tessen... Maybe I should cheer her up a bit.

"Hey, you want to hang out over my place after we get done?" I ask her with a smile. I saw he look up at me and returned a smile.

"That's fine with me."

"Well as soon as we finish the more time we can hang together." I said while I took a dart out and cut the tap on the box. I open the box and notice the whole box was full of books, frame of pictures, awards, and more stuff. I grab bunch of books and place them in a book shelf near by. While I was placing the books on the book shelf, I glace over to see what Ayumi was doing. She was pulling clothes out of her lounge and hanging them up in her closet. I could tell she has a thing for Gothic Lolita because she has a good amount of outfits. The skirts are pretty short...

I do see that she has a bunch of other clothes and Todo Academy's uniforms. Right when I saw a set of panties and lingerie, I turned around and grab some more books with a grin on my face.

"So, why did you move out on your own?" I ask the brunette while I place the books on the bookshelf.

"I don’t want to always depend on my brother. Sadly even by moving out, I still might have to depend on him."

"Aren't you scared to live by yourself?"

"Not scared at all, I can cook and defend myself."

"Oh really?" I said while I place the last book on the book shelf. "What kind of moves you got to able to defend yourself?"

"Oh! You'll see."

I was curious of what kind of techniques a Takayanagi process. Ayumi could be some good use during my surveillance for Sōhaku. Damn, but Misuomi entrusted me with her!

~*~Flashback~*~

(Spoiler Alert to those who DID NOT read the manga)

The day Mitsuomi entrusted Ayumi to me is when I was demonstrating my "water bullets" to him, but also on that day his words moved me and I vowed that I will be his "arrow". I became loyal to him. It happened during when I was at the Ishiyumi main house at the archery field.

"The Orange Dragon's Gate...The water chakra's "Water Bullet". Huh?" Misuomi said amusement as he watches me throw my water bullets towards the target before me. He was leaning against the wall next to a dozen of arrows which is hanged up.

"Yes… I still haven't mastered it yet though..." I said throwing the last bullet.

"Even though ancient Japanese Archery has a long and distinguished history of high accuracy and military might, it is not as good as Western Archery. They use old battle-tested weapon whose lifespan was out of date 100 ago, but their fundamental ideology is that they have been tested in real battles more than any modern weapons."

I turn to face Mitsuomi with a smile, "If we can improve this technique... At any rate, this "100 year tactic" should be very powerful."

"...But even if that water bullet opens a hole in the body, it won't go through it... You can't kill someone with that."

I dip my hand into a bucket of water I place beside me and chuckled at Misuomi's statement.

"Haha...No, that's fine. "To excel at penetrating without hitting..." In other worlds, I have always been told that an arrow that does not kill someone is a waste."

I lift my hand up as the water slip off my hand.

"To desire to kill is just like this water. No matter how much scoop it up. It all just…spills out."

At that time I use my ki to form water bullets once again.

"But… If someone imparts some "ki" to, it like this. The water takes on life and before like, will right for its master."

I said as I allow my water bullets to float before me. I smiled at the sight of my water bullet.

"As always, completely unlike your name, you're a very indirect man. The character of not killing someone does not suit a "leader". That would be a big problem for someone who wants to become the leader of a mobile assault group."

I was shocked by his words and looked up at him while my water bullets form back into its liquid form. Before I could say anything else he continued.

"It isn't that...I don’t like that part of you. However...The thing that spilled out of my grasp so long ago is packed into that water bullet."

I watch him walk towards me and smiled at me about to turn away. He continued on.

"...I will die in a few years. Change the water that is being scooped out of my life into those water bullets of yours."

He turns and began walking away slowly walked away.

"Even if that technique was not used in the 100 year battle, it will be important in the coming thousand years I think."

Moved by the words he said. I felt a tear slid down my cheek. I smiled and caught the tear, wiping off the trail of it. I bowed to him.

Mitsuomi suddenly stopped him trails and turned around and face me. I left my head up and gave him a puzzled look. He walks towards me and stopped in front of me and said softly.

"I have a sister that I will entrust with you. She is the only little sister I have. In a few weeks, she will be moving into the vacant penthouse across from the one you live. Even though she is a strong person, she's still a female, she still young, my only sister, and...the only family member who is very close to me. Her name is Ayumi. Take care of her when she moves in."

He turned and walked away. I was kind of shocked that he has a sister and entrust me with her. A Takayanagi is living across me soon! Another way I can prove my loyalty to Mitsuomi.

"Yes, Mitsuomi, I'll take good care of her." I bowed to him once again.

"Also…"

He turned around me and gave me a slight glare. "Don't try anything funny."

I just sweat dropped and he walked off. Damn, does he seem to think I'm that kind of guy?

Now I know why he said that last statement. I glace at her body up and down as I picked up frames of her pictures. Also she just hangs the last clothing in the closet. When she turned around I quickly looks at the photo frames. I saw a picture of her and her brothers together in a huge group hug. They looked younger and way different in this picture. I saw another picture of Ayumi and Mitsuomi hugging and laughing together. I smiled at the sigh and the picture was taken from me. It was Ayumi.

"This is when I was 12 and a half. This is 2 years ago, before all the chaos happened."

Yeah two years ago, when that damned demon killed so many innocent people. He was the one who was responsible for Mituomi's condition.

She placed the picture frame on the night stand beside the lamp.

"Why don’t you set up my clock and I'll place the pictures around my room?"

I hand her the picture frames, "Sure, I'll do that." And I grab the alarm clock out of the box and placed it on the second night stand. I plugged it up and began to set it up. Ayumi just placed her photos around her room. After Ayumi place all her photo frames around her room, she went over to the other box.

"Hey, got the time on you?" I ask as I set the clock.

"Oh, it's 2:15 pm"

"Thanks. I'm gonna set the alarm at 7:30 am since school is going to start soon."

"Is it the same time you wake up?"

"Yep."

While I finished setting up her clock, I look up to her and saw her setting up her iPod dock on her drawer. When she finished she turned around to face me and smiled.

"Thanks a lot Tessen, it would of took me a while to set everything else."

I smiled back at her, "You're welcome, but don’t you still have 6 more boxes?"

She sweat drop and made a face, "Don't remind me..."
