"Hannah! Get Up! Now!" Mrs. Brown pounded on Hannah's door.

"Okay, I'm getting up!" Hannah yawned and slowly dragged herself out of bed.

Soon a little black and white Boston terrier came bounding into Hannah's room, her little stub of a tail wagging excitedly.

"Glad someone's happy on the first day of High School," Hannah scratched behind the dog's ears. "Come on, Terry Puppy, let's go get some breakfast," the little dog barked happily as she ran from the room. Hannah fallowed into the cozy crapt kitchen, where her mother was busy making eggs and bacon. Hannah sat down and stared lazily at the house before her.

The house was small, but still home to the Browns. Behind the kitchen table was a desk filled with a computer and computer things, the living room off to the right had a big screen, two sofas, and a large leather chair for Mr. Brown. Behind the chair was a bookshelf filled with movies, which Hannah's best friend Alexandria adored (She was a true movie guru, had all the lines memorized from every movie she ever saw), next to that was the door that lead to the garage. And the hall by the TV leads to the bathroom and the three bedrooms.

"Hannah? Hello? Earth to Hannah!" Zack, Hannah's twin brother, waved a hand in front of her zoned out face. Hannah blinked herself out of her La La Land (As Alex called it).

"Huh? What?" Hannah asked coming back to reality.

"Do you want toast? Gosh, you are such a blonde sometimes," Zack rolled his brown eyes.

"Shut up! No, no toast either, Alex said she would bring doughnuts on the first day," Hannah said, groggy still.

"Just don't eat to many," Mrs. Brown said flipping the bacon.

"I know Mom," Hannah said, slightly annoyed. Her mom always seemed to be nagging about something.

"Hey, will I get any?" Zack asked, hopeful.

"Ask Alex, she'll probably say no, just because she'll want to give one to Justin, and you know how she is with food," Hannah stated simply.

"Here you guys are, then Zack you need to get into the shower, and Hannah get dressed," Mrs. Brown put bacon and eggs on their plates. They ate their meal quickly and in silence.

When she was done, Hannah went back to her room, Terry fallowing. Hannah looked in closet for her new outfit. She found it; it was a pair of faded jeans, a light blue camisole, and new black skater shoes.

“Well, Terry Puppy, it won’t get much better,” Hannah sighed and went to see if the bathroom was empty yet.

It was. Hannah quickly put her hair into a ponytail, and put on light make-up. She was naturally pretty so she didn’t a lot of make-up. As she was putting on her mascara, Hannah received a text message:

Han, r u ready yet? I’m out here waiting 4 u! Hurry! TTFN!

Hannah rolled her eyes, it was Alex, and she was so excited about getting a plan with texting. Alex might be the most technically knowledgeable, but texting was still really cool to her.

“Mom, Alex is here, I’m going!” Hannah yelled as she grabbed her backpack and ran out the door.

In her driveway was the silver impala that belonged to Alex’s mom, Sheila. Hannah hurried into the back seat where Amanda and Liz were talking animatedly.

“Hey guys!” Hannah smiled here blinding smile.

“I have doughnuts!” Alex laughed holding up a box of Krispy Kremes and a bag filled with chocolate milk bottles.

“Sweetness,” Hannah laughed at her oddest friend. “Are we also getting Becky?” she asked eyeing the all-ready crowded backseat.

“No, she’s going to meet us there,” Alex said with her green eyes wide in her some-what-creepy stare.

“Oh my gosh! I’m so excited! I mean we get to start High School!” Liz gushed, her eyes bright.

“Yeah, it will be pretty cool,” Amanda agreed, she was always the most level headed, very relaxed and calm.

“I know, then I can show my brother up in everything, and all the teachers will like me more!” Alex spun around in her chair, making Hannah think of a hyper Labrador puppy.

“Alex, set down in your seat correctly!” Sheila snapped at her daughter.

“Alright, alright,” Alex turned back around. Then suddenly Cascada came on the radio. “Everyone shut-up! I love this song!” Alex shushed everyone and turned up the radio. And they sang:

I still hear your voice when you sleep next to me, I still feel your touch in my dream…..

They sang up until they got to school. In the front were ‘the guys’ of the group and Becky, all laughing and talking.

“We knew that was you guys, you could hear that song all the from the freaking highway!” Stephen commented.

“What can we say? We love clubby, trance-like music,” Hannah laughed.

“Forget about music! I have doughnuts!” Alex said, she looked like she was on something.

“I get some right?” Zack asked hopefully.

“Duh, everybody gets some,” Becky answered, her voice slightly harsh.

Quickly, they ate the doughnuts and talked about their summer. Then the 5-minute bell rang, whisking them all away from each other’s company. Alex, Justin, Hannah, and Brandon all went to English Honors and sat down in the little tables waiting for Mrs. Spangler to start of the first day of High School.

“Good morning, class, I’m Mrs. Spangler.”

Already this seemed to be the first of many great and glorious high school days.
