After another six hours of the constant and ruthless work Gai inflicted on the group, most of it being based around Tai justu, I was done, I could barely walk. I'd lost track of the number of push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups, star jumps, lunges, kicks, punches, flips, rolls, jumps and various other exercises Gai had forced us through but everything ached, now I wondered why I had been so desperate to have a sensei.

"Did you have fun?" Neji asks quietly as we walked, or rather staggered, back to the estate.

"It was…tiring to say the least." I reply glancing over at the pale-eyed boy, he looked upset about something.

"Gai does that." Neji replies coldly and a look of confusion passes over my face, had I done something wrong? He had been being nice until this morning…until his fight with Lee.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask putting a gentle hand on his shoulder, he shrugs it off and doesn't reply. "Is it because I congratulated Lee and not you?" I ask slowly, Neji huffs but doesn't respond. "I didn't think you needed to have a pat on the back, you won easily and Lee lost dismally, see the picture here?" I ask.

"No, I don't. I thought that just once, just maybe…oh forget it!" Neji says in frustration as he picks up his pace.

"Maybe what?" I ask jogging to catch up.

"I SAID FORGET IT! NOBODY ACTUALLY GIVES A DAMN ABOUT ME ANYWAY!" Neji yells looking furious.

"Okay Neji, I get it, calm down, you just wanted a little bit of praise as well, I get it." I say keeping my voice down as I put my hands up in the air to show that I wasn't going to fight him, his face softens slightly. "Look if you wanted some recognition, all you had to do was ask." I say evenly and Neji pulls up his nose at the thought.

"Oh, so, what? Just walk up to you and say 'so did I go well too'?" Neji says sarcastically as he rolls his eyes.

"Pretty much, yeah." I reply nodding.

"But that's fishing for complements." Neji says looking upset.

"Yeah." I reply like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Hmmm…" Neji says looking thoughtful as we pushed open the side-gate to the Hyuuga estate, I laugh quietly and follow Neji inside.

"We have to get ready for dinner, I'll see you shortly." Neji says looking back at me briefly.
