Welcome To My Life - Introduction - The Osora Clan
Chapter 9 : Welcome To My Life - Chapter Nine - Meeting Everyone
Chapter nine for those of you reading this, i hope you like it so far =D.
Light footsteps across the dew sprinkled grass awoke me and I slowly sat up.
"So you're learning." Neji laughs putting the bucket of water onto the wet grass.
"I didn't sleep deeply, I rarely do." I reply sitting up slowly. "Give me two seconds to change." I mutter standing up and dragging myself into the house to change quickly, after pulling on a fish-net top, a pair of black combat trousers that reached to the middle of my calves, a black vest similar to that of chuunins and a pair of combat boots I quietly tip-toe back out onto the veranda
"Different outfit." Neji comments as I jump onto the grass next to him.
"Kimonos are so formal and they're completely useless to fight in." I shrug as I start to jog lightly over the grass to clear the thin vision of sleepiness that still clouded my judgement, Neji laughs quietly and jogs to catch up. "Where to Sir Neji?" I ask as I reach the gate, Neji raises an eyebrow and allows himself a small smirk.
"Never call me that again, to the training grounds." Neji laughs as I jog off again towards where Neji had led me yesterday.
"You have way too much energy." Neji says keeping up with my pace easily, I laugh and turn to jog backwards so that I was face to face with Neji. The sunlight reflected off his headband and into my eyes, I put up a hand to shield my eyes as I remembered my headband. I put my hand into my weapons pouch that was hanging by my waist and pull out the headband, after tying it to my right upper arm I turn back to Neji happily.
"What was that about?" He asks raising an eyebrow so that it disappeared behind his own headband.
"Well I am a ninja, I might as well show it." I reply, to add to the childish reply I stick my tongue out and sprint off childishly. Neji chuckles behind me as I run lightly over a wooden bridge over a small river, I stop and wait for Neji as I balance cat-like on top of the railing across the bridge.
"Why so cheerful?" Neji asks when he comes up with me, he had walked.
"Trust me, I think I have a personality disorder, tomorrow I'll wake up and I'll be completely feral." I reply smiling calmly, the jog seemed to have calmed my mood.
"Sure." Neji says rolling his pale eyes, I laugh.
"Just you wait and see."
"Okay, we'll start with Team 7." Neji says leading the way into a clearing only a short distance from the bridge.
"You have enough teams to make 7?" I ask looking astounded.
"I think there's actually 11, I don't really count, there's up to team 10 and then I'm on team Gai." Neji says as a group of four came into view. "Team 7 meets at 7, a decent hour really."
"If I had a team we wouldn't be able to meet up until at least noon, the fog doesn't clear until 11 and then it takes at least an hour for the dew to dry up." I reply.
"There is a reason it's called the Fire Country." Neji says rolling his eyes.
"You don't say." I reply sarcastically.
"That's Kakashi Hatake," Neji says pointing at the grey-haired man, "Sakura Haruno," he points to the pink-haired girl, "Sasuke Uchiha, you'll have heard of his clan," Neji points to the black-haired boy, "and…"
"NARUTO UZAMAKI, BELIVE IT!" The blonde-haired boy yells bounding up to me, I falter backwards and end up tripping over a rock lying harmlessly in the middle of the field. Naruto burst out laughing while the rest of his group looked on with either smiles, or in Sasuke's case 'what an idiot' looks, I had to glance over quickly to see the tail end of a smile disappear from Neji's now completely emotionless face. I laugh as well and stand up slowly as I brush the dirt off my trousers.
"It's nice to meet you all." I reply casually glancing around the group, I'd heard of Sasuke's clan, true enough, the man Kakashi and Naruto, for some reason, but the girl I didn't know of. "I'm Haruka Osora from the Village Hidden in the Rain." I say smiling softly, my excessive energy suddenly rushing out the window.
"Hn." Sasuke says turning away uninterestedly.
"So you're new, or just visiting?" Sakura asks pleasantly.
"Just visiting." I reply.
"AWESOME!" Naruto yells right in my ear, I jump away from him and suppress a laugh.
"Not really, it take takes two weeks to get here in the first place and I won't be staying much longer than that." I mutter thinking sourly of the trip home.
"You won't be?" Neji asks raising an eyebrow.
"No, Misaki gets married on the full moon, in just over a weeks time, and we won't be staying much longer than that." I reply shrugging.
"Oh right, of course, Hinata mentioned it in passing last night." Neji says starting to lead the way off.
"BYE!" I yell over my shoulder.
"Well at least Misaki and Katsu hit it off on the right foot." I say when we where a fair way away from the clearing.
"I suppose." Neji shrugs. "They say opposites attract, I guess it was right in this case."
"Yeah, I guess." I shrug, I wasn't really bothered beyond the minor fact that I was glad that Misaki seemed happy with him, and he, her. As we came into another clearing a different group came into view.
"This is Team 8, Kurenai Yuhi," Neji says pointing to the brown-haired woman, "Kiba Inuzuka and Akamaru," Neji points to a boy wearing a blue jacket and hood with a white and brown dog, "Shino Aburame," He points to a brown-haired guy with a high necked jacket and black glasses, "and, of course, you've already met Hinata." Neji says gesturing vaguely to his younger cousin.
"Hello, Neji…and Lady Haruka." Hinata stutters.
"Just Haruka." I correct.
"Okay." Hinata stutters again looking confused.
"So you're the all famous Osora Hinata's been talking about." Kurenai says looking me over quickly.
"I wouldn't say 'all famous'." I say uncomfortably as I scratch the back of my head.
"Yeah, she can't walk on her hands." Neji mutters and I clench my fists in a strong attempt not to hit him.
"I'm not going to live that down am I?" I reply quietly.
"No." Was Neji's short response, I shrug, knowing that I would anyways. Hey, nobody at the Village Hidden in the Rain knew about it.
"Well, I don't mean to see rude but we need to start training, it was very nice meeting you Haruka, nice to see you Neji." Kurenai says as she turned to look at her students. Neji and I wander off slowly as we make our way to wherever the next team was training.
"Team 10." Neji says pointing to the next group as we walked over to them.
"Where'd Team 9 go?" I laugh.
"I don't know, probably didn't pass the first genin tests." Neji shrugs nonchalantly.
"Oh." I reply remembering my genin tests, it was just about the only time that a jounin had taken enough time to spend the day with me, and it was ONLY a day.
"Well anyway, that's Asuma Sarutobi," Neji says pointing to the man who was smoking on the edge of the group, "Choji Akimichi," Neji says pointing to a boy sitting on the group eating a bag of chips faster than I would have thought physically possible, "Ino Yamanaka," he points to a blonde-haired girl twisting her pony-tail around her finger flirtatiously, "and Shikamaru Nara." Neji points to a brown-haired boy lying on his back gazing at the sky, which was scattered with white clouds floating aimlessly in the heavens.
"Cool." I mutter prodding the grass with my shoe while the boy, Choji, assessed me.
"Hey Shikamaru, she nicked your outfit." Choji yells suddenly, I jump and look at the boy still lying on the grass. Shikamaru looks up briefly without any reaction of actual caring before he lets his head flop back to the grass.
"Big deal, similar outfits, what a drag." Shikamaru says twisting a feather around his finger carelessly.
"I still don't get where Team 9 went." I say prodding Neji. "Shouldn't this be Team 9?"
"I'm not going to go into this with you." Neji sighs as he begins to walk off again.
"Bye!" Ino calls and I lift a hand in a goodbye.
"See you around." I yell back.
Okay, so that's everyone...puffed, nearly everyone anyway, not the senseis but you get the idea.
