Troublesome?
It was another day in Kohona. Everything was so busy! With the Hokage dieing, and Sasuke leaving, and the repairs it seemed there was no time to just relax. And I had to admit Sasuke leaving had a pretty big impact in me. We were pretty good friends, so I guess he just forgot to mention he was leaving, probably had a lot on his mind too. I looked up into the sky to see that the weather was going with the current mood. It was all grey and looked like one big giant cloud with a few drops of raining falling. On the streets many people were rushing inside to take cover from the storm that was probably going to hit. But I just continued walking to my destination that I was yet to figure out. More rain started to fall and I could feel my hair getting damper. After about 10 minutes the once busy, full of life, streets were now empty and I was now soaked from head to toe. The rain felt somehow refreshing, and there was finally a moment of peace. So I just stopped to breathe the moment in, spread my arms like wings, and looked up towards the sky with my eyes shut tight. It kind of felt like a dream, all in a blur But my peaceful moment was then disrupted.
“You know if you stand in the rain like that, you’ll get sick” I snapped back into reality to come face to face with the lazy smart ass himself. My arms retreated back to my sides and a small smile curled onto my lips. Shikamaru was standing there a smug smirk on his face, soaking wet, with his hands in his pockets.
“This coming from the guy that’s also standing in the rain soaking wet?” I put my hands on my hips and waited for a response.
“Troublesome women” He mumbled under his breath. I giggled a little as he started to head under a small canopy shielding a small fruit stand. I just started walking again to who-knows-where only to also be pulled back under the canopy.
“Did you not hear what I said?” He looked at me and crossed his arms and again I giggled.
“I did but I just chose to ignore it!” I tried to bounce away again but he pulled me back into a hug.
“Is this the only way I can stop you from going out there?” At first a small pink blush tinted my face but then I tried to wiggle out of his tight grip and ended up unsuccessful. It felt warm in Shikamaru’s arms and my heart started to beat faster, but it was nice.
Then we both heard someone yelling from the other end of the street. Alarmed, we looked up too see Ino jumping up and down with joy.
“D’awww you guys are SO adorable together! So are you guys dating?!? Huh?” I felt the arms around me unwrap themselves and I took 2 steps away from him, both of us blushing furiously.
“Were NOT dating!” I yelled back avoiding Shikamaru’s gaze. I watched as Ino’s face fell but brightened back up again.
“THAT’S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!” She gave me a little wink then walked back inside the shop. I sighed with the blush still on my cheeks. Everyone knew that I liked Shikamaru, but Shikamaru of course. For a genius he was pretty stupid.
For a couple of minutes we stood in silence avoiding each others gaze, well this isn’t awkward!
“So…” I broke the silence and Shikamaru looked at me. Then a figure emerged from the shop beside us and ran under the canopy with us. Turns out it was Temari. Way to make it even more awkward!
“Hi guys!” Her eyes shifted from me to Shikamaru. She started to flutter her eyes a little barely noticeable but noticeable. It was pretty obvious that she also liked Shikamaru.
“Hey Shika” She started to touch his shoulder and it was pretty obvious that she was flirting with him.
He mumbled a “Hi” then looked down at his feet. For a second she looked shocked but then her confidence came back.
“Wow, its cold out here, Don’t ya’ think?” She started to rub her arms and pretend to shiver a little, as she waited for Shikamaru to hug her or offer his jacket or something.
“ Yea, pretty cold” Temari looked at me and it seemed a little harsh but then looked back a Shikamaru hopeful that he realized that she is flirting with him. But it seemed that the rain had stopped mostly and he walked out from under the canopy and mumbled “bye”
I saw as Temari’s face dropped but the she looked back at me.
“He’ll realize that we’re perfect together!” She looked at me waiting for me to argue or something for she knew that I liked him.
“Yea probably” I did a small smile and walked away from a shocked Temari. Then Ino came barging out from the shop and over to me.
“So what was that all about?” She asked, winking, like she thought that something happened.
“What? Oh the hugging thing? Um I tried to go back in the rain and he wouldn’t let me, something about me getting sick.” I shrugged like it was nothing but to Ino, it was something.
“Aww he cares for you!” Again, I shrugged then walked away waving bye. The streets started crowding again but I just wanted to clear my mind. I found a hill over look Kohona with a nice view and I laid down on the soft grass. Then I heard some shuffling and someone beside me. I opened one of my eyes to see Shikamaru lying beside me.
“Hi Shika” I opened both my eyes and looked over at him.
“Hey” He put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. I looked back up into the sky.
“I wonder how Sasuke is doing.” I heard a grumble beside me and looked back over at Shikamaru.
“What?” I looked at him confused.
“You like him don’t you?” I looked at Shikamaru surprised and he lay there motionless.
“No of course not, we’re just friends”
“Is that so?”
“Yes it is”
I looked back up at the sky wishing I could get the courage to tell him. It seemed that the sky had changed much since before. It was now a blue with white clouds seems that the storm passed. I looked over at Shikamaru again and had the sudden urge to kiss him but I contained myself.
“So you know that Temari likes you right?”
“Yes” What he knows?
“Then why don’t you do anything about it?” I looked at him shocked. Wait does he know that I like him?
“Because I don’t like her…” I jerked up shocked.
“No way? Really?” He looked at me lazily.
“Really”
“Then who do you like?” I looked at him, again, confused. Damn this boy can be so confusing. Here he is saying that women are troublesome.
“A girl” I gave him a playful glare then smiled while giving him a shove.
“And you call me troublesome!” I did a fake pout and he chuckled.
“You are troublesome” I crossed my arms and stuck my nose in the air.
“Wow you do not know how to flatter a girl” He again chuckled and I fell back down on the grass with a grin. Then I felt a hot breath on my lips. I opened my eyes to see Shikamaru’s face inches from mine.
“You look really beautiful right now” He pulled away and I blushed furiously. He saw me blushing and smirked.
“Guess I do know how to flatter a girl” I hit him playfully and again he got dangerously close to my face.
“Shika…” I breathed with the blush on my face growing; he closed the gap between us. My eyes went wide when I realized that I was kissing him. Kissing?!?! I soon melted into the kiss and loosely hung my limp arms around his neck. He snaked his arms around my waist and held me tight. Then I pulled away for air.
“I love you” I smiled hearing those 3 words.
“I love you too Shika” I nuzzled into his chest but then looked back up.
“Shika? Don't you think this is ‘Troublesome’?”
“I do, but I love you anyways” I smiled and fell asleep in his arms
