I woke up panting, sweating rolling off me like its raining. ‘Oh my, that was the worst nightmare I’ve ever had.’ I thought. I turned over and peeked at my clock 5:45 am it glared at me. ‘Well, I have an hour and fifteen minutes to get ready, let’s see what I have in my closet.’ I lazily got up and crawled over to my new walk-in closet. ‘Hehe, I have a walk-in closet now :D’.
I searched around thinking about my first impression at DC high. Good or bad, nice or rebellious? I searched for, ironically, another fifteen minutes and found it. A light blue and black fishnet top with a black tank top underneath, a studded belt, black suspender skinny Capri’s, and black flats with light blue skulls. Can you guess my favorite colors? So, I grabbed my Black boom box purse, shut off the lights and walked slowly over to the kitchen.
I arrived to the kitchen to see the maids and butlers all eating at the table. I smiled, “good morning everyone,” and waved. They looked over and frightening expressions arrived on there faces.
“What? Is there something wrong with my face?” I panicked.
“No, No, I’m sorry we’re not used to having anyone in the family be up so early.” Answered a white headed man who looked to be in his, 60’s maybe?
“Oh,” I replied, not like I had much to reply with.
“I’m sorry Miss Clover; let us get out of your way.” He asked unsure.
“Ha, nonsense I wouldn’t mind some company. You have every right to be here as I do.”
“Are you sure Miss?” I nervously fidgeted
“Positive and I’m pretty sure my name is Clover, not miss. And it’s only Clover not Miss Clover, Kay?” I answered.
“Alright”
I walked over to the fridge grabbed a peach and plopped onto the last empty chair.
“So, do I have the delight of knowing, some, of your names?” I wondered.
“well, there’s only a few you need to know, My name is Rodger, head of the butlers and maids here, next to me is the presidents maid Lori, next is Evan’s personal butler Fredrick, and last is your Personal maid, Sindy[like Cindy, but an ‘s’ J ]”
“Sweet” I leaned over the table and put my fist in the air for Sindy. She stared at it perplexed.
“Hey, uh, Sindy, usually people pound it back”
“Oh,” she replied confused. Hesitantly she ‘pounded’ my fist back. “Ha, sorry, Clover”
I said in an accent, “dun’t wurry about it dahlin’. You’ll get used to it.” I stood up and started to walk away when a thought popped in my head. “Oh, and no curtsying and all that jazz your supposed to do. It doesn’t matter to me. Just do you job and head out. If you do that, I.just.might.bring. you. shopping,” I looked over and winked at her as I left the kitchen.
The only other room I know about is the Entertainment room. So, obviously, that’s where I went to. I soon arrived and I opened the only black door, in the white house! I looked around the enormous room; It looked more like a floor than a room though, holy…Wowzers.
One wall and section was all arcade games, air hockey, foosball, and a pool table. Any and every arcade game was there. Another wall and section had a huge HD TV with a large couch and two lazy boys on each side; there was an XBOX 360, Playstation 2 & 3, a Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo Game cube. The third wall was another large couch, and another two lazy boys; but this had a projector hooked up to a DVD player. The last final wall and section was full of DVD’s and video games.
“Well, I can definitely get used to this room; I hope we’re here for all eight years.” I thought and smiled at the comment. I dropped off my purse and hung it on a coat rack next to the door, and picked up a hand full of tokens lying in a huge bowl. Then I maneuvered my way over to a car racing game. I inserted two and played that for a while. I do admit, I’m pretty balling at these games. I heard CrushCrushCrush by Paramore go off and I realized it was my cell phone. ‘Ugh, game or cell phone, game or cell phone?’ I decided to ditch the game and I bolted for my cell phone.
I sighed and flipped open the cell phone “allo poppet, Clova Speaking love.”
“Haha very funny clover, where you at?”
“Did you know, Evan, we have an Entertainment room?”
“Yes, are you there? We need to go.”
“Ugh, alright… are we taking the limo?”
“Uh, yes why?”
I swore some profanities under my breath, “ugh, does that mean the men in black are with us?”
“Err, yup”
“WHAT THE FUDGE MONKIES!!!!!!”
I heard a click on the other line and the door squeaked open.
“Let’s go, Clove” he grabbed my hand and started pulling me. Luckily I swiped up my bag before he started dragging me down the hallway.
“Hey Evan?”
“Mmm”
“I can walk ya know.”
“Sorry,” He let me go and I brushed the invisible dirt off.
“Clover! Let’s go I can’t be late.”
“Yea neither can I dipsh!t.”
We were silent all the way to the limo, and on the way to school. I looked at everyone staring in awe at the limo when we arrived. I saw G and the crew staring at the limo too. Shit, worst second impression EVER! The limo slowed down to a stop and Evan got out quickly. He smiled and waved and all the girls screamed. ‘Gawd, he isn’t tom cruise.’ I thought. I grudgingly opened the door and stepped out. Garret’s eyes literally popped out of his sockets, Dalton’s mouth was opened wide and started to drool a lil bit, and Faith had the big sly smile and slowly made her way over to me. I smiled and waved to all three and walked over to them. I glanced over at Evan who was mobbed by a bunch of blonde b!mbos. I laughed, and met up with Faith half way.
“Whoa, Clover if I knew you were rich, I would’ve asked to come over your house way earlier.” Faith Joked.
“Huh, I didn’t know you came in style.” Dalton commented as he watched the limo leave.
“Why didn’t you tell us Clover?” Garret asked disappointed.
I sighed; I knew this would’ve happened sooner or later… I guess its sooner.
“I didn’t tell you guys because I didn’t want you guys to only like me because I lived in a huge house and I was a big deal. I didn’t want to be like my brother I guess.” I answered and pointed over to where my brother was still being mobbed.
“I know it’s really mean to ask, but…can we come over sometime?” Dalton piped up.
I laughed and responded, “Yeah, how does Friday sound.”
“Sweet!” he screamed and jumped up. Then he started dancing.
“Uhm, so, lead the way to Admin? Please,” I asked and smiled sweetly.
Garret laughed and put one arm around my neck, “of course my sweet...Oh wow, that sounded retarded, not saying sweet again. Unless it refers to what Dalton just said.”
“I turned one more time to see the two of the four men in black break away the fan girls. I saw a white hair flash in the sun and pink accent it. Then I remember to ask Garret.
“Hey Garret, who’s Shannon?”
“Ha, the biggest wh0re/sl*t/b!mbo in DC high.”
“Figures, I knew she would be all over him”
“Who?”
“She, referring to Shannon and him, is referring to my golden boy brother over there.”
“Ahh, so that’s your brother”
“Yep, the one and only.”
“Good.”
“Huh?”
“Oh, nothing.” I saw Faith and Dalton walk into a building so I followed suit. I arrived straight away into the main office. Faith was currently asking for her schedule so I waited silently.
I felt like I was being watched. I slowly turned my head and there they were, the men black. I turned all the way around and playfully punched one repeatedly in the stomach.
“Sup dude, what it do?” he looked down at me, then looked straight again.
“Not much of a talker eh, don’t worry I don’t mind. But, can I least know your names?”
“My name’s Chip and the big man next to me is Dale.” I fell to the floor laughing at Chips answer.
“You have got to be kidding me. Did you guys ask to be with each other or did it just happen?”
“We asked to be. Why?”
“Why? Uh hello Disney, Chip & Dale the chipmunks. Honestly Chip you must have had one screwed up childhood.”
Chip and Dale both glared at me, “get used to it men, I don’t like you.” They glared at me some more and then looked straight up again when the secretary asked for me.
“Ms. Herrington, here’s your schedule, enjoy your first day.” The secretary said. I looked down at it.
“So, do we have any classes together?” Dalton asked.
I read my schedule out loud to the 3 musketeers. “Period one-Algebra I, period two-Science, period three-French, period four-English II, period five-Lunch, period six-Art, period seven-Gym, and period eight is History .” I finished and look up at them.
Garret responded first, “Dude, English II is like top, with the juniors and seniors. How are you that amazing at English? Oh, and we have period 1, 2, 5(duh), 7, and 8 together.”
“Well, Garret if you must know us women are highly intellectual, when we want to be.” Faith spoke for me. “Oh and we have French together, and art with Dalton and I, Garret plays acoustic guitar for the band.”
The first bell rang for everyone to head to class. Garret looked down at me, “shall we go, don’t want you getting lost.”
“We shall.” I smiled and he guided me to Algebra while Faith and Dalton skipped off to another area. The algebra teacher made me introduce myself and then I seated myself in the front. He mostly just talked about rules and nonsense about that. And that’s about how far every teacher got, with the introducing me, rules and expectations. I met up with Faith fourth and she brought me to the cafeteria after.
“Okay, so the cafeteria is set-up weirdly. For those who think they are the sh!t and all that jazz they sit up front, to be noticed. Then there is everyone else. Garret, Dalton and I sit in the back by the huge window, only when it’s super cold, raining, or snowing. So, when the weather is nice we sit outside. C’mon I'll show you.” I followed Faith outside to where we met up.
I forgot about the men in black. It’s surprising they get through the day without a second take from anyone. They were still following me, of course. Faith and I stopped right in front of the two boys. Faith plopped right. I bent over to put my tray down then I sat down. Surprising the men in black sat down too.
“Hey, uh, Clover…why do you have two guys in nifty suits, sunglasses and an earpiece following you around,” Dalton asked as he shifted his eyes. Then he bent over and asked in a whisper, “are we being watched?”
I laughed at him, then stopped and sighed. “Well, the second part I forgot to tell you guys about was that, well, my mom is the President.” I looked down after that, ashamed.
“Whoa, that’s like, a big detail to leave out don’t you think?” Dalton responded shocked.
“Yeah, I know. I guess it’s still the whole I-didn’t-want-you-to-only-like-me-because-I-lived-in-a-huge-house-and-I-was-a-big-deal thing.”
“Well, that does explain why you were hiding the afternoon we met you.” Garret answered, while he looked like he was thinking.
“So…we get to hang out in the white house Friday then,” Faith said wondering.
“Yep, I have this HUGE-MONGOUS entertainment room. It’s friggin’ sweet.” I told the all three.
“Awwwwwwwwwe, HELLS YES!” Dalton exclaimed excitedly.
“Hey Chip.”
“Yes Clover.”
“They can come in the limo right?”
“Of course. Your mom will be overly ecstatic.”
That’s when I thought. ‘Well, sh!t… that’s going to be a problem.’
The rest of the day went by just like the morning. Well exceptGym, since we got our uniforms.I hugged Garret good-bye, and waved bye to dalton adn Faith, thenthe men in black guided me to the limo. I crawled in to see Evan’s hair all messed up, some clothes slightly ripped, and some pink lip gloss on his t-shirt. I laughed.
“What,” Evan glared.
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe it’s you hair, clothes and cheek.”
“What’s wrong with my cheek?” he squeaked.
“There’s a kiss mark on it,” I smiled like the Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland.
“Oh,” he replied blushing.
“Haha you’re blushing, awe that’s great.”
“shut.up!” He said clearly pissed.
“So, how was your day?” I asked interested yet slightly sarcastic.
“You mean other then the girl mob and Shannon showing me everything and she’s in every single one of my classes,” he answered annoyed.
“Yes dear brother other than that.”
“Eh, boring.” He shrugged.
“Same here,” I agreed with him. “So…Shannon, do you like her?”
“No, she’s to shallow and dumb for me to like her more than an acquaintance,”
“I hope she likes your answer ha-ha. I have got to be there when you break her the news.”
“Yep she’s going to have to deal. I’m not that stupid to realize that three fourths of the girls after me were dumb and shallow.”
“That’s good. I’m glad you realized that. If you want, you’re welcome to sit with the crew and me at lunch.” I offered.
“No, but thanks. I managed to make a few guy friends. I might hang out with the four of you Friday though.”Ha responded as we arrived ‘home’.
“The more the merrier.” I countered back to him as I stepped out of the limo.
“CLOVER SARAH HERRINGTON!!!!” My mom shrieked.
‘Oh sh!t’ I thought.
