One Wish Upon a Star...

Meiko ran through the streets. She finally stopped, panting, and breathing heavily at the entrance.

"Meiko?" A familiar voice said.

Meiko stared up. "Oh my gosh!" She gasped. "Chris! W-w..what are you doing out here so late?"

"I'm on duty. I'm one of the guards...." He said.

A guard! Wow! "What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Me?" Meiko squeaked. "Umm..I..Er...ummm.."

"You came here to see the princess, didn't you?"

"Yes..." Meiko whispered. He laughed.

"Go on in. I know you'd never try to hurt her."

"Wow. Thanks." Meiko said and walked in.

After finding the Princesses' chamber, which took a minute, thatwas her room, she turned the knob and...

"Hey!" A voice screamed inside. "Who's out there?! I have ears like a hawk, you know!"

"It's...Meiko.." Meiko said.

"Meiko! Oh no...Umm..." *sigh* "All right..come in..."

Meiko entered the room. She gasped.

"Laura?!" Meiko said.

Laura was sitting on the bed in a royal nightgown...

"I...never wanted you to know, Meiko..."

Now Meiko was shocked. "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't Chris tell me he was a guard?

"Because..." Laura started. "I...I know you were the real princess..." She stammered.

Meiko gasped. Was her cover blown so easily?

"How did you know?" she asked.

"I'm your servant..."she said.

"But How? How did you know?"

"I saw you wishing on the star. I ran in just as it exploded. Then, KABAM! We were here. I woke up in the Palace, you in my hut."

"Wait, YOUR hut?"

"I lived there...those are my parents. You're a very smart girl, Lady Meiko. I knew you'd figure it out sooner or later."

Laura collapsed on the floor and bowed.

"But, I don't understand...How did it effect you, Laura?"

"I was in the room. Whoever was in the room, it effects."

"Did it effect..Victoria?"

Just then, Victoria came in with some tea, when she saw Meiko there, she nearly dropped it.

"Meiko!" She said.

"Yes...yes it did effected her..."

"How?!" Meiko nearly screamed.

"I heard you murmuring, Meiko." Laura said.

"Then I came running. Victoria was chasing me, telling me that I had to stay at my post. The meteor exploded, and she was in the room also..."

"I..." All the girls turned to the door, to see Chris standing there.

"Chris!" Meiko said. "Did it effect you?"

"I heard everything..." Chris confessed.

"I was a guard back then also, and I was afraid those two girls, who were screaming and running, were going to hurt you, Meiko." Chris said softly.

"Fine, so we were screaming!" Victoria said.

"I came running, and I was at the edge of the door, inside, and ...it exploded...I woke up in my same hut. But, when I ran to the castle, I saw..Laura in your place, Victoria in her regular place, and you, Meiko, in Laura's hut." Chris said.

"Is it possible...to reverse it?" Meiko whispered.

"Yes...." Chris said. We have to travel to Dodongo Cavern, and get a Dragon's Emerald. We have to destroy it, only then will your wish be reversed.

"I'm coming." Laura said.

"Me too." Victoria said.

"I will also." Chris said.

"I have no choice but to go..." Meiko said.

"But what will our families think?" Laura sid.

"It doesn't matter." Meiko said.

"They're not our real families anyway." Chris said.

"It's settled then." Victoria said. "We will go tomorrow. We must rest and pack."

With that, everyone went to their homes and fell asleep.
