Full Moons and Black Roses
Chapter 4 : -x-Split it in Half as Evenly as you Can-x-
"Well that's pretty much it. My mom couldn't afford much since my father really took care of all the money they had. All that's through here is my room," I told Mika, pushing my door open to prove to him that's what it was. "So..."
"So...What?" he asked, probably feeling nervous or uncomfortable. Hell, maybe even both! I was probably just as nervous as he was, if not more so.
"Do you...um--" Would I regret asking him this? "--want to go in?" If I scared him away I would seriously hurt myself. Mika smiled and nodded softly.
"Sure, Lily. Just don't you dare try to rape me!" he joked...or at least I hope he was joking!
"Who do you think I am?" I asked him as he followed me into my room. I sat on my bed beside him when he sat.
"A seducing vampiress. I've read plenty of stories to know that you lure innocent men in which your charm and then have your way with them," he breathed down my neck.
"Oh Mika, you're not doing so good at proving your point: it seems to me as though you're the one tring to seduce me!" I laughed, but it probably wasn't so convincing. It sounded so phony in even my own ears.
"I am so sorry, young lady. I'm just so damn hot that I don't know how to control myself," Mika apologized in the most sincere voice he could muster up.
"Better tone it down, babe. Or I won't be able to control myself either," I whispered into his ear quietly. Maybe I was pushing this a bit. I needed to stop...
"That's the plan, Storm Cloud," Mika told me and I looked at him. It was such the perfect idea--the perfect moment, but should I... Oh, whatever. Be happy with life.
"Mika, you're just so irresistable!" I shrieked with forced laughter. I pushed him backwards and lay down on him, my face merely inches from his.
"I could say the same for you," I could have sworn he whispered, but his voice had been so soft and quiet I couldn't be sure. But there was no way he said that, right? Right, no way.
I felt the pleasant warmth of his hands on my back, burning through my shirt, and I hoped he would forgive me for what I was about to do. I mean, there was no way I could control myself any longer. The cat had to be out of the bag. Now.
"Mika...There is something I've been wanting to tell you for quite some time, but I've been afraid of how you would react to it..."
"Yes, Deliah?" he asked, propping himself up slightly with his elbows.
I figured actions speak louder than words, so I was going to spare my sanity once and for all. I had been so close to doing what I had wanted to do for so long just earlier today, but the damned rain had interrupted it. I couldn't wait for this any longer!
"Mika..." I leaned forward again, quicker than I had the first time. Our lips did touch--for less than a second.
"Delilah! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" my brother screamed. I jumped off of Mika, startled by the sudden change of atmosphere--not to mention volume. "You are a whore! He is a mongrel! A mutt! A stray dog!" Whore? A tear trickled down my cheek before I could stop it.
"She is not a whore! What kind of brother calls his own sister that?!" Mika screamed. "You asshole!"
"Get. Out." Kyle demanded.
"No!" I yelled, clinging to the man I loved with all my heart--no, all of my being.
"Get him out of this house!"
"No--!"
"OUT!!!!"
"It's alright, Delilah. I better go," Mika whispered to me. I tried to protest, but he shook his head. "I'll see you tomorrow." He kissed my cheek before jumping out of my window. As soon as my body lurched forward to the window, Kyle stormed out.
"I love you, werewolf boy," I whispered after him. "If only you knew, Mika. If only you knew..."
"Hun, we need to talk," my mother said suddenly, walking in. "I'm going back to Daryl."
At that moment, I felt my heart tear in two.
