The Difference Between Perfect and Prefect 8

Created by MischiefManaged7 on Tuesday, July 08, 2008

Madison ignored you. During Defense against the Dark Arts she moved her seat to the back of the class. Fred was trying to be civil, but he took Madison's side on the matter. After the first couple days you started to sit at the slytherin table with Draco during lunch and Dinner. Breakfast you normally skipped to go snogging behind a statue. Draco always brought you either a danish or a muffin, that had to be rewarded, correct? That was his reasoning. George was surprisingly sweet towards you. He would sit with you in the common room and you would chat animatedly about an array of topics. One topic never came up but was constantly on your brain. Him and Angelina at quiditch practice talked frequently. Occasionally she would give him a flirty smile or a light punch on the arm as he teased her. It made you jealous, and the jealousy made you angry at yourself. The first meeting of Dumbledore's army was finally about to meet. Draco was upset that you couldn't meet him after dinner. He wouldn't let the matter go, constantly questioning your actions. Harry's order loomed over your head. The lies kept spilling out. You told him you needed to write an essay and had to concentrate in your room. "I promise I won't make a sound." he pleaded with a puppy dog pout. "No, you would still distract me." you respond giving him a quick kiss. You went into the Gryffindor common room and retrieved your wand from your room. Upon returning to the common room Madison and Fred walked through the portrait. Madison turned her head and brushed by you up to the girls dormitory. Fred stopped by your side. "Draco is waiting outside you know." he whispered. He obviously didn't want Madison to hear him talking to you. "Why? I told him I was writing an essay..." you question out loud, more to yourself than to him. "I don't think you want me to answer that. The point is you're going to need some help getting by him." You look at him with hopeful eyes. He checked to make sure Madison was no where to be seen. "Here, eat one. It's still in the testing stage, but so far it has worked on all our test dummies. It's much easier than any poly-juice potion. It'll change the color of your hair and eyes. If you don't look at Draco directly, he shouldn't recognize you." He put a small wrapper with a bit sized morsel into your hand. "Thank you, Fred." you say. You don't know why, but you hugged him tightly. He gave you a hug back and quickly released you. "We might not like Draco, but I speak for all of us when I say we miss you." he added before walking up the boys dormitory staircase. You threw the candy into your mouth. Upon swallowing your hair turned to blond and your eyes to a bright blue. You looked into the mirror and almost didn't recognize yourself. You hurried to the portrait, unsure of how long the effects lasted. Draco was waiting outside of the portrait and gave you a quick glance. You walked by effortlessly.

You entered the secret room and there was a decent sized group already formed. George was leaning against the wall eyeing you curiously. You walked by and he grabbed your arm turning you to face him directly. After a minute of scrutinizing he gives you an amused smile. "I see our product works splendidly." The shock on your face was hard to hide. "How could you tell it was me?" you ask. "Well you still have your nose and face structure. Also the way you walk and your mannerisms. I'm surprised you trusted Fred enough to try one of our experiments." He ruffled your hair like a child, the new blond locks ruined. You smoothed out your hair, "That's a bit creepy. Draco had no clue it was me." you state. He laughed a bit, "Well he also doesn't know you as well as I do. I've had many more years to watch you than he has." You give a small giggle, "You're not helping. That statement just made you more of a creeper." You both laughed, your mood uplifted. The rest of the people came and you got down to business. It was amusing when Harry paired you and Madison to a duel. With a quick flick of the wrist you sent an expelliarmus spell towards her, making her wand fly out of her hand. She ended up falling onto her butt, almost hitting the wall. She had no idea it was even you. The charm didn't fade throughout the entire session and you worried you may never have your brown hair again.

The session ended and George told Fred and Madison he'd meet them in the common room later. You had to make your rounds and George said he'd accompany you, since he hadn't really talked to you for a while, alone. It was easy to walk around the halls with him with your new look. No one sneered at you for being the Gryffindor traitor. The halls were empty. It made your job that much more enjoyable with your company. You were laughing at a prank George was telling you about that they pulled on Madison. Apparently at dinner one night they put a small bomb into her plate of spaghetti. Right when her fork made contact with the bomb concealed by the noodles, she was hit with a wave of sauce. Unfortunately it hit a few other innocent students who later complained, landing Fred and him into detention. You were too distracted to see what was a short distance down the hall. Draco stood with Crabbe and Goyle blocking your way. "Weasley, what are you doing out this late?" He questioned with a glare. Draco's actions surprised you, considering he was always nice to your friends when you were present. You were too afraid to talk, he would surely recognize something as unique as your voice. "That's really none of your business Malfoy. My friend and I were on our way back to our common room, so if you would, we'd appreciate it if you stop stinking up the hallway and let us through. We both need a bath after the sight of your greasy hair." Draco grimaced. "You and your little slut get back before I give you a detention." he responded. Crabbe and Goyle both knocked into his shoulders on the way by and to your shock, while Draco passed he pushed your shoulder making you fly into the wall. George sprung to your side in a flash. "What's your problem?!" he yelled to Draco as he cautiously checked your shoulder for injuries. Draco half turned, "Gryffindor's are my problem. You all are alike, a waste of magic." This got your blood fired up. You gave him a death glare. "How can you even say that! You're dating a Gryffindor!" George yelled back in your defense. "And you'd do best to stop talkin to her. Your twin caught on, why are you still hanging around? Oh wait, I forgot. You're still in love with her aren't you? Pathetic." His goons laughed behind him at the taunt. George clenched his fist but you caught his arm before he could hurt Draco. "It's not worth it." you warn him. "What, got a girl fighting for you now?" Draco taunted some more. George returned his attention to you. "She's a girl worth fighting for." He says staring into your eyes deeply. Your heart fluttered at his words. He leaned in and planted a soft kiss on your lips. Your heart betrayed you, beating at a hundred miles a minute. The whole thing made you dazed and dizzy. When he pulled away your hand dropped from his arm and it all happened in a blur. He dashed at draco and in a flash punched him square in the nose. "You need to learn a lesson somehow." he called after Draco while he sprinted down the hall holding his bloody nose.

You both walked back to the dorms in silence. You were angry at Draco for his disrespect towards you and George. You were even more angry at George's kiss. Angry at the obvious fact he did it knowing you were Draco's girlfriend, no matter how big of a jerk he was. Also angry at the way you reacted. The next morning you didn't meet Draco at the usual spot. You sat with Fred and George. Madison was still angry, but she started talking to you a bit, hearing how George punched Draco in the nose. You were glad to see your hair was it's natural color. Your eyes still had a couple specks of blue but were only noticeable if you looked hard. A tap on your shoulder distracted you from the intense conversation the four of you were having about Umbridge and how she suspected something was going on. You turn to find Draco staring at you angrily, his nose a bit swollen but for the most part normal. "Can I speak with you for a minute?" It wasn't really a question, more of a command. He grabbed your bad shoulder and made you wince. George nearly stood up from his seat but you gave him a warning glance. Draco glowered at George as he dragged you from the great hall. "What's your problem?" you retort. "I can't believe you ditch me today for that idiot. I know you heard by now what he did. How can you do this to me?" His voice raised after each word. This made you irritated. "Oh, I heard what happened. You threw a girl into a wall and then go and egg him on? You're an ass." you tell him while attempting to walk back to your seat. He grabs your waist and turns you forcibly. His gorgeous blue eyes made your anger lessen. "I'm sorry." he muttered. "I just don't like it when you're with other guys, I get jealous. Can you blame me?" his voice dripped with sincerity. You sighed, defeated. "Fine, I forgive you." The guilt of George's kiss made the both of you even in your mind. He smirked and gave you a firm kiss. He laced his fingers with yours and was about to walk you to your first class. You didn't budge. "I'm not done eating with my friends." This made him give you a questioning look, but he didn't want to press his luck today. "Fine, I'll see you at lunch then?" You gave him a quick nod and a kiss. As you sat back down three pairs of eyes stared unbelieving. "You forgave him didn't you?" Madison asked disgusted. "Yea, I did." you state and return to your food. She sighed in frustration and Fred revived the subject of Umbridge, trying to distract everyone from their current frustations to a common one.
