Haley Wells (Fred Weasley Love Story) ch 2

The day finally came, the day of exams. Haley, Ashley, Fred and George had their Potions exam first thing in the morning. Haley could hardly sleep at all. Ashley was up almost all night looking at her Potions book studying some last minute helpful hints that would help her to pass the exam.

Haley and Ashley put on their uniforms and make-up and walked down to the common room. There they found Fred and George waiting for them. All four of them walked down to the Great Hall without saying a word to each other. Haley and Ashley were as nervous as ever, Fred and George seemed to not be worried as much. Haley barely touched her food. Of course it had to be her least favorite class that she had to take an exam in.

“Don’t worry,” said Fred, “You will do great.”

Suddenly the Great Hall was filled with desks; each one had parchment, ink and extra quills on them. The 5th years piled into the Great Hall and they all took their seats at a desk. Haley was really worried as they began to pass out the exams. Haley looked down at her paper and she read the first question:

1. What is the main ingredient for a shrinking solution?

Haley remembered asking this question to Ashley, Fred and George. With a smile on her face, she wrote down the answer.

Everyone finished their exam within 3 hours. It took forever but Haley was really happy that it was over. Now she could relax for the rest of the day.

“That wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be,” said Ashley as she took a bite of her cheese sandwich. (The Great Hall had its regular tables back)

“Yeah,” replied Haley, “It was pretty easy, I expect I probably got at least an E on it.”

“Speak for yourself!” said George, “That was the hardest exam I’ve ever taken.”

“Yeah,” said Fred, “I knew like 2 answers.”

“Well,” started Haley, “if you two actually had taken time to study then you would have known at least 3 answers.”

Ashley and Haley laughed but Fred and George just looked back at their plates.

After lunch, Haley, Ashley, Fred and George decided to go down to Hogsmeade to treat themselves to some butterbeers.

Haley was so happy that she had completed her Potions exam. Tomorrow she had Care of Magical Creatures, but she was sure that she would get a passing grade on that. Haley was getting more and more excited about going to the Quidditch World Cup this summer. She was sure that she would have a great time. After all, she loved staying at the Weasley’s house. Mrs. Weasley was a great cook and you never went hungry. You were also never bored at the Weasley’s house. There are so many magical things to do at their home. You could play Quidditch, wizard chess, or even de-gnome the yard. The Weasley’s didn’t think that it was fun to de-gnome the yard, but Haley thought that it was quite interesting. The only part she wasn’t looking forward to was spending 3 weeks with her father. She would try to avoid him most of the time, but sometimes that’s hard to do.

That week flew by and they only had one more O.W.L. exam left, Defense Against the Dark Arts. Haley was sure that she would do an outstanding job on this exam. Defense Against the Dark Arts was her favorite class and Professor Lupin was one of her favorite teachers.

When they handed out the exam, Haley felt super confident. She looked down at the first question:

1. How do you tell the difference between an Animagus and a werewolf?

Haley was so proud she knew the answer to all of the questions; she only came across about 2 or 3 questions that she didn’t know.

Within 2 and half hours, all of the 5th years finished and they all cheered that exams were over!

Haley was so happy she had finished all of her O.W.L.s. She had believed she passed all of them with good marks, or at least she hoped she did. There were only 2 more days left at Hogwarts and then everyone would be back on the train headed home. For once, Haley was excited about leaving Hogwarts. She knew that she would have a great summer. The only bad thing that happened was that Professor Lupin got fired. The word got out that he was a werewolf. Everyone wanted him to stay but they knew that a werewolf could not teach their classes. At dinnertime, the Gryffindors all stuffed their faces. Every single year was done with their exams and they all had their last 2 days just to relax.

“I can’t wait for this summer!” squealed Ashley, “Haley, you better be coming to the Quidditch World Cup with us this year. It’s going to be great!”

“I plan on coming,” replied Haley with a great big smile plastered on her face.

“Good,” said Fred, “because we have already told our parents that you two were coming.”

“Yeah,” said George, “and you two better write to us this summer.”

“We will,” said Ashley, “right Haley?”

“Psh,” said Haley, “Why would I want to write to them?”

Ashley laughed.

“Well if you don’t,” started Fred with a grin on his face, “we will have to call you on the felytone.”

“Telephone!” said Haley, “and you better not call me on that. My dad would kill me if he found out that boys were calling me.”

Fred and George laughed.

“We do what we have to,” said George.

All four of them made their way up to the Gryffindor common room. All of them were too exhausted from their exams to stay up so they all went to bed. Haley could hardly sleep. She was too excited for the summer. She couldn’t believe that she would get to spend most of her summer with Fred. It was like a dream come true. Haley soon fell asleep with a smile on her face. No father of hers could ruin her summer.

The next morning Haley woke up late. She woke up around 10:30. She missed breakfast but she didn’t care. They would be serving lunch in an hour. Haley looked over at Ashley’s bed and she wasn’t there. Haley got out of bed and walked over to the bathroom. She took a nice long shower and then returned to her room. She put on a pair of jeans and a purple tank top. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and put on some eye liner and pink eye shadow. She walked down into the common room where she found Harry, Ron and Hermione.

“Do any of you know where Ashley, Fred and George are?” she asked.

“I think they are down in the Great Hall eating lunch,” said Ron.

“Thanks,” said Haley as she left the common room and made her way down to the Great Hall. She walked over to the Gryffindor table and found Ashley, Fred and George.

“Someone slept in a little late,” said Ashley.

“Yeah,” said Haley, “I thought that I would get a good night’s sleep to recover from taking those exams.”

Haley grabbed a plate and put a cheese sandwich on it.

“Who’s playing in the Quidditch World Cup this summer?” asked Haley.

“Bulgarians against Irish,” said Fred as he took a bite of toast.

“Very exciting,” said George, “We are going to see if our mum will let us gamble this year.”

“Aren’t you guys a little young?” asked Ashley.

“Well our mum might think so,” said Fred, “but she doesn’t always have to know everything.”

Fred and George had cracked identical evil looking smiles.

After lunch, they all made their way to Gryffindor tower. Ashley and Haley decided to start packing up some of their things.

“I can’t believe that this year is already over,” said Ashley, “So much has happened and it flew by like that.”

“Yeah,” said Haley, “but, we have this summer to look forward too.”

“Yeah,” said Ashley, “I can’t wait. Hey, if your dad gives you any trouble this summer, just come on over to my house and we would be glad to have you.”

“Okay,” said Haley, “I will.”

Haley and Ashley had just about packed all of their things and they walked back into the Gryffindor common room. There they once again found Fred and George huddled over a piece of parchment.

“What are you guys up to?” asked Haley.

Fred and George looked up and George quickly grabbed the parchment before Haley could look at it and he put it in his bag.

“Ooohhh,” said Ashley, “Somebody’s up to something.”

“Look,” said Fred, “just drop it. You didn’t see anything.”

“Right,” said Haley, “Whatever.”

For the remainder of the day, Fred, George, Haley and Ashley all decided to go down to Hogsmeade one last time. At 6:00, they returned to the school for dinner.

When they returned to the common room, Fred and George returned to their piece of parchment while Haley and Ashley were sitting on the sofa talking.

“I really want to know what they are up to,” said Haley.

“Yeah I know,” responded Ashley, “Me too. You think that George would tell me, I mean I’m his girlfriend.”

“Yeah,” said Haley, “but, do we really want to know what it is?”

Ashley laughed.

“Probably not,” she responded.

“Some mysteries are better left unsolved,” said Haley.

At 10:00, Haley and Ashley decided to go to bed. Fred and George were still writing on that piece of parchment.

“Good night guys,” said Haley as she was walking towards the girls’ dormitories.

“Night,” responded Fred and George at the same time without looking up.

Ashley rolled her eyes and gave George a kiss on the cheek and then her and Haley made their way up to their dorms.

“So,” said Ashley crawling into her bed, “when are you and Fred going to start dating? Exams are over.”

“I know,” responded Haley, “and I don’t know when we are going to start dating. He doesn’t really mention it anymore. The only thing I really ever see him do now is look at that stupid piece of paper.”

“He will ask you out,” said Ashley, “trust me, I know he will.”
