Thunder crashed and the wind howled; the small torpid inn creaked and the windows rattled through the storm. Though outside raged a violent storm, inside it was silent as the chilren of the inn owner stared out the window suppositioning the of the storm.

"Come, children. Gather by the fire," said an old man with solemn, wise, green eyes. "I've a story to tell you..."

-------------------------This means time change-----------------------

His chestnut hair caught in the brilliant sunlight and gleamed with red licks from it's rays. Sweat beaded and slid agonizingly slow down his face and over his bare, tanned, muscled body causing him to boast a slovenly appearance as he worked beside large, burly men in the same painful condition as he.

A few weeks ago he was the kingdom's hero. But just as easily as he came about this title, he lost it.Easy come, easy go? On that unfortunate day he saved Her Luminous Highness Queen Jadora La Farre's life when he found her drowning her own bath. He was thanked for his kindness by being imprisoned and put to work on the new castle wall.

How was he in her bathing quarters?

To recapitulate the matter, he had actually been sneaking about the queen's rooms to steal her precious jewels and glittering crown. He would have escaped successfully with them, but he got cocky and greedy. Draping jewels around his neck and setting the crown crookedly on his head, he wandered to the bath in hopes of carving the rubies and emeralds out of the gold tub. But of course, the queen screamed and he attempted to silence the loud, obnoxious noise by juggling the large, precious stones in a pretntious act. The whole act would have been it bit more believeable if not for the crown on his head and his dirty outfit of penury.

"Novice! Tell me your name!" A large, thickly armored guard called out,
pulling the ex-hero out of his daydream.

In a dilatory fashion, the "novice" stopped his work and stretched his arms mockingly. "Luciene." He replied with a wide grin.

Leaning against a shovel, Luciene readied himself to blurt a few strings of vulgarity at the big man before him, but his mouth snapped shut (almost as if someone had slapped him smartly across the face) when he looked up and saw her.

She was the most woman had ever seen. She walked gracefully and beautifully with a nebulous look about her (though it was only the sheer fabric that was her dress and hairpiece. She was an angel, so egregious in that crowd of dirty men.

Luciene's ability to speak escaped him as he soon became irresolute while the princess slowly became evanescent and then gone. Once he was back to his senses he was knocked unconscious by a very lrge, muscular man carrying an equally large brick.

"Luciene!" The man called.

But he was already face down in the mud.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Luciene, you feeling ok?"

Luciene opened his eyes and opened his eyes to see a burly black man before him; he screamed. "Bear! I was dreaming about the beautiful angel!" He muttered in adulation, "Then I woke up to see you... Reality hasn't favored me too well..."

Bear frowned, "Silence that astute mouth of your's. You're culpable for being put in that sleep."

Luciene laughed and rubbed at the new lump on his hard head. "It was my avarice that brought me here, Bear." He grinned brightly. "But it is all right. Being here will soon give me a chance to wrap my arms around-"

"I don't want to hear this, Luciene!" Bear interrupted.

Luciene shrugged. "I was speaking of the bricks." He replied equivocately. Bear gave him an anathemic look. "Oh, Bear! You know I only have eyes for you!" The hard-headed man swooned in an attempt to abate Bear's anger. He laughed at big black man and headed in the opposite direction of the work area.

"Where are you headed now?" Bear grumbled.

"I need to acquaint myself with that porclein beauty and reacquaint myself with my future mother."
