One Wish Upon a Star...

Meiko was the Princess of the Village of Howanu. But, she was really tired of all the royalty stuff..She wanted to go and play like the other children. Instead, she was stuck in her castle, doing royal things...Oh, how she hated it! Here's a little information on Meiko.

Cute, isn't she? Ok...on with the story..

Meiko was being chased down the halls by some people from the village. They wanted autographs, photos of the Princess. It was 11:45 AM, for goodness sake! Meiko wanted to go to sleep in her comy bed. She finally reached her room and latched the door. She could hear the cries outside the door and people scratching the fine wood of the door. She changed into her nightgown and covered herself upwith the quilts up to her neck. She stared out the open window and saw a shiny thing in the sky. She sat at the edge of the window and watched it pass by. She struggled to get a closer look, but it was no use. She finally gave up and ran to her drawer. She pulled out her brass telescope and pointed it up to the sky. She raised the other side to her eye slowly, and gasped.

It was a falling star! The Legends said you could make a wish on the star. Meiko held her breth, closed her eyes, and said quietly, "I wish I was a normal child, not royal at all..." She opened her eyes and looked up at the sky. The legend said that the wish would come true only if it exploded...but it ws still flying. Meiko frowned and wrapped the quilts around herself. She closed her eyes and within seconds, she was asleep. If only she knew that when the moment she closed her eyes, the Falling Star exploded.
