I Love You Riku (1)

I walked out onto the beach, not knowing Riku was laying right there.
"Dia?" He said.
I turned and looked at him.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
I turned away. "Like you don't know."
"I don't."
"Yeah, sure."
Riku got up and stood next to me. "Please, tell me."
I walked away from him and became a little angry. "Fine. I'll tell you. I wanted to share that paopu fruit with you, just not in front of Sora and Kairi. When you said you were kidding, I could've died!"
"Really? I...I didn't..."
I interupted. "I like you! I really like you! I love you, Riku! But I guess you don't feel the same about me!" Tears fell from my eyes. I've cried a lot lately.
"Dia, I...I didn't...I didn't know you felt that way."
"Sora and Kairi have known. You could've figured it out!"
"Dia..."
"I don't care!" I walked off, heading home. "I hate you!"
The next morning I woke up,still sad. I couldn't beleive I'd exploded at Riku that way. I do love him. I shouldn't of said I hated him. His heart could be torn. He could hate me. I'm scared of what he'll say or do when I see him today.
I walked downstairs to get breakfast. "Good morning, Mom." I said sadly when I saw her.
"What's wrong with you?" She asked.
"Nothing."
"Well, someone dropped this note off for you. They said they didn't want you to know who it was." Mom handed me a green envelope. I opened it quickly.
Dear Dia,
Meet me at the paopu tree at sundown.
It looked like Sora's handwriting."Okay." I said to myself.
On the beach we strted building the raft out of logs and many other things. Riku didn't talk to me, at all.
"How'd it go last night?" Sora and Kairi asked me.
"I exploded and said I hated him."
"Thats's sad." Kairi said.
"Sora, did you deliver a note to me mom for me?"
"No."
Now I knew. Riku had something in mind.
That afternoon, Sora and Kairi went home early. We had worked all day and had finally finished the raft. I walked across the beach and over the bridge to the little island with the paopu tree.
I was right. Riku was standing there looking out onto the ocean. He didn't know I was there yet.
I walked up behind him. "Riku?"
He didn't say a thing or look at me.
"I'm sorry. I don't hate you. I was just upset."
He was still silent.
"Do you forgive me?"
"Yeah." He said. He turned around and hugged me. "I'm sorry, too."
We both sat on the poapu tree, staring over the ocean. We were both silent.
Riku soon spoke. "Do you really love me?"
"Of course."
"Why?"
"Well, after Kairi came, you were the only one who cared about me. You let me stay with you until my parents came to this island. Your family was my family."
Riku sighed.
I looked at the glittering ocean. "Riku, do you..." I turned to him, but before I could finished my sentance, Riku's lips were together with mine. It felt awkward at first.

But kissing someone is like becoming hyptonized. You want to pull away but you relax and close your eyes anyway. That's exactly what I did. I wrapped my arms around Riku's neck and he wrapped his around my waist.
We held like that for a while. I knew he loved me and he knew I loved him. It was destiny. Well, we were on Destiny Island. Maybe it was meant to be.
I felt happy, like I could fly and nothing would make me land. Finally.
