Olivia and Zegory, A Love Story

There is a town where the past and the present mix and mythological creatures exist. A town that is tainted by magic and plagued by a cursed family, the Blacks. A town where the forest is always in its autumn dress and it is not unusual for inanimate objects to suddenly start moving around on their own. This town is named Autumn Edge. Within Autumn Edge is a young girl named Olivia Moretti who lives alone with her animals on a small farm on the southern edge of town. As this town is small and it has a close community that is just like a family, word gets around quickly. So it wasn't long before the whole town knew that their own little Olivia had turned sixteen. Of course they were happy for her, but they were also worried. Worried she might be taken away by Zegory Black.
The Blacks are a family who was long ago cursed by a witch when Zegory Black's thrice-great grandfather unknowingly built his mansion on her land. It had been a night of a full moon when they had finally finished the house and the witch had returned from a long journey to foreign lands. Angry at the invasion of her home, the witch thought of a suitable curse to place upon the family. All the males of the family were forced to turn into wolves on the night of a full moon. Consequently, all of the grandfather's children and grandchildren were males, meaning the only females where those who had married into the family. When the children were old enough, they had to resort to stealing brides from the nearby town because the people had grown to fear the Black's curse and could not look past it. Although they were forced into transformation on a full moon, the Black males learned they could transform anytime they pleased. This helped in the number of chances they had to steal a bride.
Over the years, the members of the Black family began to move away to different locations until only Zegory, his parents, and the servants, who had been with the family since they had first moved to the place, were left. Now, it was only Zegory and the servants, though that was not known to the people of Autumn Edge. Since Zegory had turned sixteen, he had been looking for a bride to marry for once he turned eighteen. Currently, he was nineteen and still had not found a bride. All of the girls he took ranged from age sixteen to eighteen and they were all beautiful. But to the relief of the townspeople of Autumn Edge, the girls were always returned within a week. No one knew why. Some thought that he wanted a girl who was perfect in every way and, thankfully, none of their daughters fit the description, but others said that their daughters were so beautiful that they somehow bewitched Zegory and tricked him into releasing them. Of course, though, neither side was right. Olivia, however, believed that Zegory just did not want to force a girl to marry him is she did not wish. She never voiced her opinion, and she didn't know just how close she was to the truth...
