Silent Assassin Part 4
Chapter 2 : Silent Assassin Part 5
Okay, sorry it's been so long. Anyway, last time, you and Hiei had gotten into a major fight to see if you would go with them or walk away. You ended up winning but unfairly, so you went with them. You healed Hiei as much as you could, but it injured you in the process. If you want more info about it, go back and read it. It's been months anyway, so a refresher is a good thing. :)
àYour POVß
You and the Spirit Detectives (Gee, I don’t think I have called them that yet in my story yet lol. Course, I’d never seen the show before I started writing. Go figure…anyway, story time yay.) enter Koenma’s office. You look around for possible escape routes in case you get the chance to try to escape later. You see a door at the back which you do not know where leads and very high windows in the stone walls. The windows are large and have sills of the size to be massive window seats. [If I were not so weak, I could reach one of the windows…] Resignedly, you follow the gang a little further into the room before stopping about midway between the door and Koenma’s desk.
“Sir, we have caught the Silent Assassin” Kurama informs the prince (Koenma for those who have never seen the show). “Excellent! This man (Woman!...they will never learn what assuming will do to you) for the past four years especially. He’s been in operation of his crimes for the past five but has only been notable for the past four.” Koenma explains. You glare for the slight to your early work. [I was only twelve when you noticed anything at all you fool. I had been too young for much yet and only in the beginning of my training.] He feels your glare though he cannot see it and clears his throat. “Anyway, great work guys, but why has he not received treatment for his wounds? He’s bleeding all over the place.” “He refused to go there first, insisted he’d see to them later.” “Baka” Hiei mumbles. You send him a reproachful look. ~You should be thankful I do not kill unnecessarily.~ “Hn.” He then turns his attention back to Koenma. The others give you and Hiei strange looks wondering what was going on. “Shall we continue?” Koenma asks annoyed with the interruption, “Assassin, communicate directly with me.” ~Communicate through Hiei~ you send to all. “Why?” Kuwabara asks (Hey! He asked a smart question. Alright, he’s a good person, but his stupidity can be annoying. He’s good otherwise.) ~Cannot hold connection with all~ *pause* ~Hiei easiest to send messages to~ *pause* ~Psychic abilities~ “Hn” (Guess who?!). “Fine, shall we proceed? Assassin, put away your staff and step forward.” ~Impossible. It is keeping me standing, and I’m fine where I am.~ “He refuses to come forward and needs the staff to stay upright.” (Okay, so I will usually only say one or the other for this conversation. Both won't speak anymore unless Hiei is “modifying” the response.) “Urgh, fine for the moment” Koenma responds frustrated, “Assassin you are hereby charged with 115 assassinations and 70 counts of theft. Are you aware of these crimes?” You nod. “Dang, he’s been busy in the last five years. Binky-breath, why didn’t you tell us this before we went after him?” Yusuke asks a bit annoyed that they were not informed of your abilities. Koenma ignores the question and continues on “Normally, this would not be an option, but your abilities are superb. You can either spend life in prison or you will join the Spirit Detectives and use your abilities in service to me until I deem that your crimes have been repaid.” ~Service!...Kuso, do not tell them I just shouted you…~ “The Silent Assassin informed me while panicking that service was his choice.” You glare at him. “Fantastic! I need you to come forward and sign this contract.” You use your staff to help you get to the desk and sign your name. “Aeris! That’s why the energy seemed familiar. I thought you might be, but Koenma said, and…” ~Shut the baka up.~ “Kurama, shut up.” “My apologies. I just normally would have known before now.” ~Perhaps, I overestimated the intelligence of you and Kurama.~ Hiei glares at you.
“Aeris, before you can begin working for me, you will have to remove your hood so we can know what you look like. You have evaded being seen all these years. We must have your identity on file.” You nod and remove your hood and flinch a little with the amount of light that can reach your eyes from the side of your sunglasses though Hiei is the only one that could notice the slight movement. He looks at you strangely wondering what caused you to flinch. Your black hair with blue tips stands out againstthe pale skin of your slender form. “Dang, she’s hot. You wanna go out sometime Aeris?” You glare at him (You and Hiei sure do glare a lot you know?) and send Hiei the message ~He comes near me, he dies where he stands, contract or no.~ “Baka, she says she’ll kill you if you come near her. We’d all enjoy it.” “Watch it Hiei. I’ll pound you both.” You and Hiei both look at him wondering how much more stupid he could ever be.
Before anyone can say anything, Botan enters. “Koenma, sir you wanted to see me?” “Nevermind that now. We have a new edition to the team. Botan, this is Aeris Pyrose, better known as the Silent Assassin.” Koenma informs her upon her entry into the room. “Finally, a girl!” she squeals while running to hug you. Before anyone can move, you have already used your staff to knock her legs out from under her while you hit the floor as well. You bring your staff down where it hits the floor barely pass her, inches for hitting her in the face. She lies still, afraid to move. You turn to Hiei. ~NO ONE touches me.~ “Hn, hands off her bakas.” You nod and remove your staff from over Botan. She nervously stands and moves away from you. She stands partially behind Kurama. You have a hard time keeping the smirk off your face at her fear of you even in the condition you are.
Slightly unnerved at your speed even in your current state, Koenma continues. “Aeris, please do not attack Botan. She is one of my best grim reapers and the Spirit Detectives' assistant. Technically, Yusuke’s assistant, but that means helping the detectives with information mainly. Now, I need you to remove your glasses so we can see exactly what you look like. Eye color is needed.” As you sit on the floor still, you turn to Hiei ~The glasses stay. I cannot see without them.~ Koenma is annoyed by your response. “Of course you can see without them; they’re sunglasses. Remove them at once.” You begin to shake your head “no” when a blur comes and removes your sunglasses before you can stop him. You clinch your eyes shut, throw your hood over your head, bury your head in your knees, and use your arms to hold the hood closer to keep as much light from reaching you as possible. While shaking in pain from the light to your eyes, you “speak” to Hiei. ~Hiei, give them back. I can’t stand the light. Turn the lights off or give me back my sunglasses.~ “Hiei, what’s going on?” Kurama asks. “The light, it’s harming her eyes. Turn them off.” Quickly, the lights are put out. You quit quivering in pain and relax. “Aeris, remove your hood so we can try to see your eyes. Sorry for not believing you.” Koenma responds now that you are still. You raise your head from your knees, nod, and remove your hood. In the darkness, your eyes glow crimson red with ice blue swirls in them (They do this in light too, but not like anyone would ever know…). They are all awed by the color of your eyes. (Hiei: Onna, I do not awe at anything. Me: Sure you do, you just did at her eyes. Hiei: *draws katana* Want to try again? Me: *backs away* But it’s a love story… *runs from the raging Hiei*) Hiei silently hands you back your glasses which you quickly return to their proper place on your face (Rhyming, yay…). You put back on your hood and use your staff to stand as the lights are turned back on.
Now that the dramatic moment has passed, Koenma continues to gather information. “I’ve never seen a demon with eyes the color of yours. What type of demon are you?” ~Wind/Fire demon~ Hiei relays the message and then mumbles to himself “Explains why I could only block part of the attack.” ~Didn’t know I could do that actually.~ “But, the fire and wind demons hate each other for the way each can control the other. It’s unheard of them to be in the same vicinity if they can help it let alone have a child.” “Do fire demons get along with anybody?” Kuwabara asks. You and Hiei turn around ready to fight. He gulps and steps back slightly. “So, we have two forbidden children in our midst.” Kurama states calmly matter-of-factly. You and Hiei shrug at the comment. For some reason, the conversation continues. No one seems to notice the blood pooling underneath your feet…
