Sitting Here Wishing For Something That's Missing Chapter 7 (Alex Gaskarth/All Time Low)

Created by lalalalola11 on Tuesday, July 08, 2008

Around 7:45 pm, we arrived at what looked like an abandoned warehouse. The large gray building was covered in grafitti, the paint was chipping and the neighborhood didn't look too friendly...I was just plain scared.

"I thought we were going to your band practice?" I asked and stated at the same time.

"We are," Alex said as he gave me a questioning look.

"Then what are we doing here." I demanded.

"This is our practice space," Jack said before Alex could say anything.

"But this place is scary, shouldn't we be in a garage or basement or something?" I asked.

"No basements are for emos, and only starting bands use garages now-a-days, us semi-famous bands own our own practice space." Alex answered.

"You guys own this? Why did you buy a place in a shady part of town?" I asked.

"Cause of the interior." Alex answered

"Trust us it's much better inside." Jck said.

"Okay, whatever you guys say."

============================================================================================

When we got up to the top floor of the building we were met by two boys that looked like they were ready to rock out. One of them was sitting behind a large drum set, the other was tuning a bass...I'm guessing these guys were Rian and Zack.

"Dudes, you're late," the one behind the drums yelled.

"Yeah sorry, Alex had to take his time to get all pretty for you guys." Jack said in responce.

I laughed as Alex tackled Jack to the ground.

"Dude, he totally wants my bod!" Jack shouted as he got up from Alex's grip.

"Whatever brah, we both know who wants who's bod." Alex commented to Jack.

'This is going to be fun,' I thought as I nearly fell over laughing, I'm pretty sure that's when the other boys noticed me. I had managed to regain my balance and notice Alex and Jack laughing at me, and the other two boys were just staring at me.

"Alex brah, who's the little hottie?" The boy seated behind the drums asked.

"Oh, this is Lola, Jacks little cousin from LA."Alex replied.

"Hey guys, I'm Lola, but you can call me Lo, La, La La, Loho, or just plain old Lola," I rambled, I was never very good at speacking when I was in the presence of a hot boy, let alone three...Jack's my cousin so I'm not calling him hot.

"Hey Lo, I'm Zack Merrick," the boy holding the bass said.

"...And I'm Rian Dawson, but you can just call me Rian." The boy behind the drum set laughed.

I laughed and thought 'This definatly will be fun.'

"Alright lets get this practice started," Alex said. Some how within a few minutes Alex and Jack managed to find and tune guitars. Now the four of them were standing in front of the couch I was seated on, getting ready to play.

They started to chat a little and I began to realize how nice this place was once you were inside. It was newly painted, posters covered almost every inch of wall space, instraments and recording equipment was everywhere. There were a few relatively new looking couches, a table and some chairs and a huge refridgerator, i'm only guessing what's in it.

"...then lets start with 'Circles'." I heard Alex say snapping me out of my thoughts.

Inquisative and thoughtful
She was the challenge he'd been waiting for
A reminder that creativity runs deep...like secrets
Dark eyes dreamers, they were a dangerous pair
Q next to U scribbled out on paper...

'Wow, Alex really does have a good voice,' I thought to myself, i'm surprised i've never heard of them before now.

I watched Alex sing the next few lines and I could already tell that this is what he loves to do most, performing, singing is his number one passion.

They start
They go
They're done

Suddenly I felt a pair of eyes on me, Alex was staring at me, I realized that the lines he was singing were ment for me...he was singing for me.

Go back to the place we knew before
Retrace our steps to the basement door
I'll ask you if the rain still makes you smile
Like so much time that we spent in the fall
Put color in our cheeks while the air turned cold
We're seeing what became our bitter end

Round in circles
Let's start over
Round in circles
Let's start over

Unanswered questions would be the only thing to stop them now
He was the poet while she was the muse
She had a pen that she knew how to use
A touch of redemption a hint of elation
A recipe for disaster

I didn't understand why he choose to sing this song to me, but I did understand that he was starting to get me, without me saying a word...he sang the rest of the song to me.

Go back to the place we knew before
Retrace our steps the the basement door
I'll ask you if the rain still makes you smile
Like so much time that we spent in the fall
Put color in our cheeks while the air turned cold
We're seeing what became out bitter end

Let this be a lesson to us all

Round in circles
Let's start over
Round in circles
Let's start over

Round in circles
Round in circles
Round in circles
Round in circles

It's bothering me, I really like this song, I undersand it, by why did he choose to sing this song to me.

The next few sond they played were 'Coffeeshop Soundtrack', Running From Lions', 'Hit The Lights', 'This Girls A Straight Up Hustler' and 'Noel', Alex sang all of them to me.

I feel asleep halfway through their practice and was woken up by Alex gently shaking me, "Hey, you gotta get up, practice is over." He said sweetly.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"9:45," he replied.

I looked around noticing we were the only two still here, "Where are the other guys?" I questioned.

"Jack, Rian and Zack went to pick up the pizzas and other assorted food and forms of entertainment," Alex answered, "I volunteered to wake you up and drive you back to the house."

"Okay," I said as I got up off the couch and followed him to the door.

"Let's get going then." He said once I reached the door.

The first few minutes in the car were quiet until Alex said, "You know you're really cute when you sleep...you just looked so i don't know peaceful, I almost didn't want to wake you up."

"Well, I'm rarely ever peaceful," I replied.

"Why is that?" He questioned.

"Now that's a long story," I said.

"We've got time," he replied.

"No we don't," I responded, "Where here maybe some other time."

"Fine but I want to hear it sooner or later, I'm not gonna let you off that easy," he shouted as me as I ran for the door of the building. Alex followed slowly, I could tell he was thinking about something.
