I Have Found My Princess ~Chapter 1~ (A Prince Zuko Story)

100 years later…The Northern Water Tribe went to restore it’s sister colony.

“Hey everybody! Doesn’t it look like there is a person in the iceberg?” a young water bender asked. Master Pakku looked closely and opened his eyes surprised. “It is a person!” he yelled and bent the ice into water. He water brought you onto his ship and drew the water from your lungs. You slowly started to open your eyes and began to shiver ~why am I so cold?~ you thought, then you remembered running away with Aang. You suddenly realized you were surrounded by people, water benders by the looks of their clothes.

“Who are you, young lady? And why were you in that iceberg?” an old man asked you. “My apologies, sir. I didn’t mean to stare, my name is Princess Airen and I don’t know how or why I was in an iceberg, hehe. Who are you?” you said with a grin.

“I am Master Pakku. And what nation, pray tell, are you the princess of?” He asked not believing you. “OH! I’m princess of the Air Nomads. I guess that part of the introduction slipped my mind.” you said absentmindedly.

“HA! All of the air benders were wiped out a hundred years ago…well all except the avatar.” he said matter-of-factly. “Anyways, there is no possible way for you to be an air bender.”

“What are you talking about? I ran away only last night…..wait…You found Aang?! Where is he? What happened to him? Is he alright? Does he know about our people? What’s going on?” you asked in a frenzy.

A little overwhelmed by your questions, Master Pakku answered, “Well, 100 years ago, the Air Nomads fell victim to mass genocide at the hands of the Fire Nation, they made sure to kill everyone. As for you other questions, Aang found us, along with two other water tribe children, Katara and Sokka. He is probably in the Earth Kingdom right now looking for an earth bending master. Nothing happened to him really, he is fine. I believe he knows what happened and we just pulled you out of an iceberg……… I think that answers everything.”

Anger boiled within you, the Fire Nation couldn’t have done this, they were your friends not your enemies. This man had to be lying, what a cruel joke. With tears threatening to fall, you screamed at him telling him that you didn’t believe him that it wasn’t a funny joke. Then you grabbed your stuff and your glider and flew off.

“Wait! I’m not lying to you!” he yelled as you flew off, but you didn’t care what he had to say. You decided that you had to find out the truth for yourself, and then find Aang.

After hours of flying, you began to grow tired from bending the air current for so long. So, you scanned the area around you to see if there was any land in sight, and, as fate would have it, there was a small island in the distance. Sighing with relief, you pushed yourself to continue just a little longer.

When you landed on the island, you collapsed on the shoreline from exhaustion. When you awaken, you find yourself in a small hut with a little girl, about 5 years old, watching over you. As soon as she notices you’re awake, she smiles and runs out the door. ~What a cute girl.~ You giggle, remove your covers, and sit up. Then the girl returns with an elderly man, who smiles kindly at you.

“I’m glad to see that you are awake, my name is Oyaji and I am the leader of this village. Koko here found you unconscious on our beach.” the elderly man said pointing to the little girl. “Where are you from, dear?” he asked.

You smiled gently at Koko and stood up, “Thank you for watching over me, little one.” you said and ruffled her hair. “No problem, miss!” she grinned and ran back out of the hut. Then you looked up at Oyaji and said, “I am Princess Airen of the Air Nomads. I am currently searching for a boy named Aang.”

“Princess Airen? I assumed that you were gone with the rest of your nation 100 years ago, but I guess I was wrong. I used to hear stories about you as a small boy. About how you were one of the youngest air bending masters, the only one younger was the Avatar. Aang was hear a few weeks ago, he was on his way to the north pole the last time I saw him.” he said merrily.

This news hit you like a ton of bricks. If this man know that your people were killed, then that last Pakku guy wasn’t joking and you basically called him a liar. You started to sob into hands. ~then me and Aang really are the last of our kind, and its only because we ran away that night.~ You felt a slight pressure on your right shoulder.

“I didn’t mean to upset y…….” Oyaji was interrupted by Koko bursting in. “AANG CAME BACK!! Appa is here!”

You jumped up with excitement, you sadness temporarily forgotten, and you ran outside to see Appa, but no Aang. You only saw one water tribe girl and boy. “Where’s Aangy?” you heard Koko ask. And the female said that he was in prison and they were there to rove him innocent. This made you extremely worried. ~What happened to Aang~ you thought and watched Oyaji lead them to what was apparently the Kyoshi temple.

When everyone was gone, you decided to go up to Appa. “Hey buddy, do you remember me?” he responded buy licking you and a giggle escaped your lips. You hugged him and said “I missed you too, Appa.” ~I will leave with the water tribe people and go help Aang~ you thought and sat down by the flying bison.

You heard the two you assumed were Katara and Sokka, based on what Master Pakku said, and stood up. When they arrived you said, “Hello Sokka and Katara? My name is Airen. I wish to come with you to help Aang.” and took a bow.

They looked at you unsurely and asked how you knew him and you simply said, “I’m an old friend, he would be happy to see me.” they agreed and you thanked Oyaji for his hospitality and climbed on Appa and flew away.

You arrive at the town he is held captive at and walk into the jail behind Katara and Sokka. “Ummm, when we went to Kyoshi island, we found this girl there. She says she knows you, Aang.” Katara says and reveals you.

“PRINCESS!!” Aang yells.

“Aang!” you yell back and run to hug him, but with him being locked up, it was rather difficult, so you gave up. “It’s so good to see you!”

“It’s good to see you, too. How are you here?!”

“Some guy that calls himself Pakku freed me from an iceberg near the south pole. What about you?!”

“Same. I really thought that I was the last air bender. I am so glad you ran away with me that night, Airen!”

“Me too. How long were you in the iceberg, Aang?”

“100 years. I’m 112” he said with a grin.

“THAT MEANS THAT I’M 116 YEARS OLD!!! I’M OLD!!” you yelled panicking.

You two continued to babble on to each other, catching up on what you had missed. That is until you heard “Ahem, sorry to break up your reunion, but we kinda need to prove you innocence hear, Aang. So you can catch up AFTER the trial!”

You and Aang turn and look at Sokka sheepishly, for he is the one who said it. “Sorry Sokka.” you and Aang both said. “I’ll leave you guys to your business.” you continued.

After the trial, Aang was sentenced to boil in oil. You were devastated, you had just been reunited with your best friend, and now he was going to die. All of the sudden, the Rough Rhinos appeared and started to destroy the shrine dedicated to Chin the Great and Aang’s sentence soon changed to community service. And so the fight began…..(I am going to skip the scene, I’m sure you have seen it.)

You ran to the town to somehow help save it from destruction. You turned corner, after corner, after corner, but you couldn’t seem to find any of the rhino-riders. Suddenly, you heard a large bang, and you ran toward it. Before you got to your destination you heard cheering, and you guessed that Aang had won. You sighed in relief but arms wrapped around you from behind and another put shackles on your hands and feet.

“If we can’t defeat the Avatar, we’ll just take his little friend.” said a man with a bald head and feathers.

You tried to use you air bending to escape, but it didn’t work. The man laughed evilly and said “None of your little bending tricks will work here, girlie. The chains nullify any bending you could possibly do.” You had been defeated and the fight hadn’t even started. All you could possibly do is wait it out and think of a plan.
