I waked around with Nate the next day meeting the citizens of the Black Parade. We started at five A.M and around 7:30 Frank came in to my hospital room. The smell of Roses came through and jolted me a little. Now at ten, My Chem and their girlfriends came in. According to Nate, I had met 50 people but my head hurt and I pleaded to go lay down. On the way back to Nate's house, we made small conversations.
"How's Jimmy?"
"I haven't talked to him since you died." I said.
"Haven't heard anything?"
"The last I heard he was in Vegas trying to start his own casino." I said.
"What about dad?"
"He's in jail. Again."
"And mom?"
"I have yet to hear from her." I said.
We reached Nate's house and we walked in. Footsteps were heard leaving my room. They probably left to get lunch. A nurse came in about ten minutes later to do nurseley things.
"Jamia!" A voice said.
"Hey Frankie." She replied.
I heard the smacking of lips and the talking continued.
"How've you been?" Frank asked.
"Don't hold me so tight." She said. "Alright I guess."
"But I have to hold you tight. You're the one for me."
Fits of giggles from Jamia came and soon were silenced.
The two left and I looked at Nate.
"He said he loved me..." I said tears coming to my eyes.
"Natalie..."
"He said he would be there! Why would he do that?" I shouted.
I ran into the spare room Nate had for anyone. I locked the door and jumped onto the bed and burried my head in the pillows. I sobbed and wouldn't believe what I just heard.
A few weeks later...
I played baseball with kids that had sadly died. Kids shouldn't died until they're over 18. I stood in the outfield with Nate standing next to me. Ricardo hit the ball high in the air so it blocked the sun. My so-called boyfriend came in and played one of the demo cds for the record company. The song was called I Never Told You What I Do For a Living. I looked at the ball and got my hands up in the air to catch it.
"Please, Natalie, say something to let me know you'll be awake like...right now." Frank said.
I saw a bright light and let the ball drop. The kids looked at me agrily until they saw the look in my eyes. I saw the hospital room ceiling and a glimps of red roses on the bedside table. I saw Frank and my heart went to pieces.
"Good bye." My brother said.
I turned to him and gave him a hug and a kiss. The kids ran up to me and gave me a hug.
"If you ever come back, tell us what its like." One of the girls asked.
"Sure thing. But ask Nate too. He'll know." I said.
The others came and said goodbye to me also. I looked up at the light and started singing the lyrics with Gerard.
"And never again
And never again
They Gave Us Two Shots To The Back Of The Head..."
I woke up still singing and doctors rushing in. Frank smiled but I didn't return the smile.
"Breathe in..." The doctor said pressing the stethoscope to my chest. I breathed in.
"Breath out..." I let out the air in my lungs.
"Well Natalie, you're as healthy as a horse." The doctor said.
"Thank you Doctor Conway." I said. "When can I leave?"
"Well, you have to go through some tharapy first to make sure you're stong enough. I'd say...a week to two weeks."
"Thank you." I said and got up for my room.
When I got back to my room ten people were crowded in it with balloons and some food.
"There she is!" Mikey exclaimed as I came through the doorway.
I walked up to Gerard first and said, "I forgive you," and gave him a big hug.
"GROUP HUG!" Bob exclaimed rushing over.
Soon, we were in a clump enjoying the presence of each other.
After the 'party' everyone left except Frank.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
I didn't reply.
"Natalie? What happened?" He asked.
I still didn't reply.
Frank got up from his chair and joined me at the window sill. He placed his hands on my shoulders and squeezed in a massaging way.
"Talk to me."
"Why don't you go talk to Jamia?" I asked.
"Who?"
I turned around and looked him in the eye.
"Look me in the eye and tell me you don't know her." I said.
He didn't answer.
"That's what I thought." I said.
"I am confused...." Frank said.
"Excuse me." A voice said. We turned to look at who was speaking.
"I'm Jamia."
"Is this who you were talking about?" Frank asked. "I haven't seen her."
"Stop acting Iero. I know you're lying to me." Oh, crap. I just said his last name in place on his first name. That's as low as I go.
