"Cali!" Sai yells seeing Cali getting out of the car with the guys.
We have been at home for about twenty minutes while the guys picked Cali up from the hospital.
"Hey Sai!" Cali walks up to Sai and gives her a hug. "Damn! You're getting big!"
"You will be to in a little while!" Sai smiles and walks into the house with Sai talking about what happened while she was back in the U.S.
Bart and Josh start to take in the suit cases while Jonny looks for me in the barn.
"What are you doing?" He asks as he sees me in the loft lying in hay and staring at the ceiling.
"Just thinking." I hear him coming up the steps of the ladder.
"Need someone to think with?" He lies beside me and pulls me up so we are snuggling.
After a little while I started to doze off in Jonny's wonderful arms. "School starts in two weeks."
"Yeah, what about it?" He says looking at my hair.
"Wonders. 8TH grade can do wonders on kids. Remember that's when everyone started dating, I met you, Sai met Josh, We met Cali, Cali met Bart. Mom died, Aunt Nikki and Uncle Mike moved to Arizona. I am sure there are more things that I can’t remember right now, but it’s just really awesome to be doing this."
"Just get through the next 12 days and you will do fine. Come on let's go inside and unpack."
"God can't enjoy a sunset if it were to kill me, huh?" I say as we both get up.
"Meet me at our spot after everyone goes to sleep." He said it, 'our spot'. I look down at the woods behind my house as Jonny starts to head up to the house. Memories begin to flood back into my mind, happy memories.
A smile crept across my face as I walk down from the loft to the ground level of the barn. When I reach the bottom step Mushi, the kitten of the cat that Bart and I found the night in the woods when we were younger, was asleep along with all his sisters. It was one of those moments you wished you had a camera to remind yourself in the future.
As I walk out of the barn I remember that we received mail while we were away and had Josh's mom and dad pick it up for us. I run into the house and up to Josh.
"Hey, do you want to come with me to get the mail?" I ask as he steps out of the bathroom.
"Sure I can talk to mom and dad a while." He says pulling his shirt on that he had just taken off.
"I'll meet you in the truck, I'm going to write the others a little note on the fridge." He nodded and we walked down the stairs and while I wrote the note he headed out the door to my truck.
Jonny, Bart, Sai, Cali-
Just wanted to let you guys know that Josh and I are heading over to Troy and Vanessa's to grab the mail and might go get some food since a lot of stuff has gone bad. We will be back around 10:30.
*Alice*
I quickly put the piece of paper under a magnet and walk out to the truck were Josh is waiting.
"We should go get some groceries for tomorrow." I turned the key in the ignition, backing up and heading onto the road towards the Vella's.
"Fine with me. Oh yeah, before I forget, we are having the horses sent over here since it is going to be cold in Ireland when it becomes fall."
"That's fine with me. Did you ever find a job yet anyways?" He stars laughing.
"Geez mother! Yes I did, I am going to be working at school with you as the Reading teacher for 7th and 8th graders. What do you teach, I forget."
"I teach Junior High History. I am also going to give riding lessons for elementary and middle school after school at the stables on the West Ranch. They were kind enough to let us use their some of their horses as long as we compete for them since all of their children are gone and married in other states, the want the joy of riding to continue in 'The futures of tomorrow's world' as they said." We pulled up to the porch and get out.
"Then your school year is going to be busy, and you also have the My Chemical Romance concert in nine days... Hey mom!" Vanessa walks out to give both of us a hug and kisses our checks.
"Alice! Josh! Jonny told me all the good news! Alice and Jonny, Josh and Sai, Cali and Bart, getting married! Then there is also the fact that Sai and Cali is pregnant!" She had the biggest smile on her face.
"All this news is wonderful isn't it?" Troy says walking out of the house now.
"We wanted to pick up the mail and see how you are." I say as Josh and Troy walk into the house leaving Vanessa and I out on the porch.
"So you aren't going to join the group of soon to-be-mothers?" She asks as we sit in some chairs away from the door.
"I want a child but Jonny and I have been trying for a little of a half year and I can't seem to become pregnant."
"It just seems that it isn't your time to become a mother just yet. But if you really want a child now you can always adopt a child and try later."
"That's true, I will have to mention it to Jonny tonight."
"Are the others going to be living with you?"
"Yes, we are going to talk to a construction team and have them add five rooms; one for Cali's baby, one for Sai's baby, one for if I ever have or adopt a child, one as a play room, and a fifth one as a spare room since Cali and Bart took our guest room."
"That's going to be a lot of money, if you ever need extra you can always come to me you know."
"Vanessa, remember Cali and I inherited all of our family's money. We have plenty and the men and I are starting our jobs here soon so we will be making plenty of money."
"Right well it's been years since that first year we moved here. If you ever need advice only a mother can give, and of you girls just come and ask me got it?"
"Got it. We'll see you later." I say as Josh walks out with a plastic sack full of mail.
"Wow that's a lot of mail!"
"Well that's what you get for having six people living in the same house." We get into the truck and head for town.
"That's true, and think there will be two more people joining us." We both laugh and listen to the radio until we came to the MAC, the store.
"Afternoon Alice, Josh." The store's clerk said as we came in.
Josh grabs a shopping cart and we head down the first isle. There were only about five other people in the store getting last minute things before the store closes for the night. As we walk along the isles I pick up and put into the cart random goodies.
"That all?" asked the clerk.
"Yup, it will have to last a little while." I say taking out my check book getting it ready while Josh starts to take the groceries out to the truck, making numerous trips.
"I heard from a little birdie that there will be three weddings and two babies, and I also heard they reside all at one home in this little town." He smirked.
"Yes, Lee. The gang is becoming one big family."
"It's $108.35. Are you one of the proud mothers?" I hand him the check and laughed.
"I wish, but sadly no. Cali and Sai are the mothers-to-be."
"What a shame. You will make a child very happy though."
"I know I will. Thank you Lee, see you later." I walk out with the last bag and put into the bed of the truck with the other food items.
It was completely dark out and the street lights had been on for a while now.
"What do you want to listen to?" I ask Josh as he sees a dog claiming its territory.
"Put in Avril Lavigne, The Best Damn Thing." He says with a smirk.
"Ever since that night I saw you dancing to this it hasn't been the same for me, thanks!"
"You're very welcome!" He says as he starts to sing to opening words.
Right when the next song started we pulled into the drive way, the house half lit up.
"Let's just set the stuff on the counter and put it away in the morning, well except for the cheese and stuff that needs in the fridge."
The house was quite so only made two trips to the truck with arms full of grocery bags.
"I think people started to go to bed or something." Josh says the obvious.
"It's 10:47 so maybe they were tired."
"So do you really think Dylan is after you again?" He puts the food that needs to be in the fridge away.
"Well with what happened this morning I don't really know."
"Well, see you in the morning." He kissed my check and left the kitchen to go up stairs into his room with Sai.
I figured I should put away most of the stuff while waiting to make sure everyone is asleep except for Jonny and I. It only takes five minutes, so I take the mail and separate them by who they were to.
"Alice?" A tired voice said from the arch from the dining room to the kitchen. It was Cali.
"What is it C?" She went over to the fridge and got the milk carton and I got her a glass for it.
"The baby is not sleeping so it is keeping me up, the baby is usually sleeping by now." She sits down with me at the island and drinks her glass of milk.
"Is everyone else sleeping?"
"Yeah unless someone gets up." She takes the last swig of her milk and got up. "I think the baby is almost asleep so I'm going to bed. Night."
I kiss her on the cheek and she headed up stairs. I walk into the living room and look what has changed about it through the years. New couches and chairs sit around the fire place and the TV.
*Well mom, even though you and dad are gone I can still remember you sitting in here when I was young.* I place my hand on my dad's old recliner and head up stair to meat Jonny in our special spot.
