"Same place I was to be picked up 7 years ago but never showed up for. By the way. I have 2 guys with me. They stay andthey won't cause trouble. "
"Bye."Thephone clicked and hehung up. I was finally going home. Nowall I had to do was get my mind in working order again before people came. I'd also have to explain soon to the twins. More fun and games.
Story: James P.O.V.
I was beggining to get really peeved at Anna right around now. We had left our conven because of her. I'd gotten in touch with them and they had joined the other one and they were planning on using her as bait to get to the Naturals. But judging by that phone call they wouldn't of come. Our orders were to bring her back and we had denied them therefore leaving our convern becoming loners. Not the best idea but she needed help. Damn this soft spot.
And what was the little minx doing now? Sitting crossed legged on the bed staring off in space. I knew she was trying to sort her memories and organize them but come on. We needed answers and it would go much faster if she let us in but nooo she has to put up thick wall that we couldn't get threw.
"Dammit Start talking." I shouted and her head jerked toward me. In that moment of surprise I saw fear and anger on her face before it was gone replaced by that blank look I hated so much.
"Very well. What do you wish to know?" I stared at her. She had to ask?
"I want to know what is going on. Why you ran from the wizard and what he was talking about."
"First he's a warlock not a wizard. Big difference. Second I will not tell you about my...relationship with him. All you need to know is thanks to my mom I made a mistake that cost lives and much more. As to what is going on. We are waiting for Naturals to come and take us home. I have to make things right and I'm thankful that they agreed to give me this second chance."
I stared at her. This was beyond frustrating and if Jasper hadn't had a hand on my shoulder holding me back I probably would of tried to beat the answers out of her. Not the best idea but I was out of ideas. She was already back inside her head.
"Zeke." She looked up at us. "His conven killed my mom. It was something big and black that drove us off the rode and my mom threw herself infront of me and it killed her. It didn't kill me. Someone came at it and drove it off. I wonder why?"
We stared at her. Was she crazy? No I realized slowly. Just scared. She was scared alot lately and now she was to meet the rest of the Naturals who obviously blamed her for something. Stupid soft spot I was really sorry and scared for her.
She got up and went out onto the balcony. She stood there leaning against her forarms with her hands linked. She looked so...lonely yet pretty somehow like a forbiden beuty. I love her. NO! It was too late the words were in my head ringing over and over again with trueth. It was wrong. It was the worst thing that could happen yet it had and I'm positive she knew.
I walked out before I knew what I was doing and Jasper stayed behind. He knew already. Was I the last to figure it out? Probably. I leaned back against the railing beside her. What was I doing? Yet I couldn't seem to stop.
"how you holding up?" Lame I know.
she looked at me and said, "I'm surrounded by people and things that want me dead. I'm going home tommorrow with people who want me dead for what I did to them but first they want me to suffer. How do you think I'm holding up?"
Ouch she was not being very helpful right now. Yet again I didn't think just wrapped my arms around her pulling her close, not letting go when she pulled away. "It's ok. I won't let them hurt you. I swear that I'll protect you. God won't let you get hurt."
She laughed slightly but stayed in my arms. It took a moment but she was crying I realized shocked. I guess the stress of everything was taking over. She sagged against me and I also realized she hadn't slept in a while atleast not without waking up screaming. I swung her up in my arms and carried her in. I laid her down on the bed.
I kissed her forhead and whispered, "I promise I'll protect you." Jasper didn't look at me as I sat down on the couch with me. He understood and wouldn't bug me while the rest of the conven wouldn't of let up. Now all we had to do was wait for the Naturals to come and get us.
