You skip happily through the corridors, singing softly. You stop suddenly and sigh.
“...it’s not the same.” You say, shoulders slumping.
Usually Tobi was running along side you. But now that he was an official Akatsuki member, he couldn’t spend time with subordinates like you.
Well, at least that’s what you think has happened. You haven’t talked to Tobi in two weeks.
“Oh well...” You say, walking now. “I guess I should be happy for him...”
A single tear slides out one of your bright green eye, splashing on the floor.
“LESLIE-CHAN!!!”
You whirl, not believing the voice. Sure enough, Tobi is running down the corridor towards you. You stiffen, and then bow as he gets closer.
“Tobi-san, may i help you?” You say formally. Tobi looks at you confused.
“Are you not feeling very well, Leslie-chan?” he asks.
“I am feeling fine, Tobi-san, and I thank you for your concern.” You say. Now that he was an official member you had to speak formally to him.
“Why are you speaking like that, Leslie-chan?” Tobi asks, his masked face tilting to the side. You drop your gaze to the ground.
“Speaking like what, Tobi-san?” You ask, playing the role of the simple subordinate.
“All formal like. You don’t have to speak to Tobi like that, Leslie-chan!” He says. “We’re best friends!”
A few more tears slide out of your eyes and onto the floor.
“Leslie-chan...?” Tobi begins. He is cut off by another voice.
“Tobi you baka! Where are you, un?” Deidara ‘s voice floats down the corridor. Tobi turns towards it and you use the opportunity to make an escape. Ignoring Tobi’s shouts behind you, you dash through the corridors, needing to escape.
One week.
You managed to avoid Tobi for a week.
But now he has managed to corner you in the same corridor.
“Leslie-chan! You’ve been avoiding Tobi!” He says, bouncing up and down.
“Have I? I didn’t know. Sorry Tobi-san.” You say, eyes darting from side to side, looking for an escape.
“Why are you calling Tobi that?” He asks puzzled. You can’t bear it anymore.
“Damn it, Tobi!” You shout. “Leave me alone! You’re an official member now! You shouldn’t be talking to me!”
That mask looks down at you, hiding the expression beneath it.
“But Tobi and Leslie-chan are friends!” He protests.
“No!” You cry, stamping your foot like a child. “No! You’re an official member! You can’t be friends with me!”
Tobi tilts his head to the side.
“Why?” he asks simply. You blink.
“What?”
“Why can’t Leslie be friends with Tobi?” He asks. You glare at him.
“Because!” You shout. “It doesn’t work that way!”
You storm off down the corridor, away from the irritating masked man.
“Where is he?” You demand out loud.
It has been a week since you escaped Tobi again, and here you were, in the same corridor.
But he wasn’t there.
“Where is he?” You repeat.
“Who are you looking for, Leslie-chan?”
You leap a mile in the air.
“Don’t sneak up on me Tobi!” you shout.
Tobi jumps up and down.
“Leslie-chan is treating Tobi normally again!” He shouts.
You glare at him.
“No I’m not! I just needed to tell you that we can’t be friends any more!” You snap.
“Why not?” He asks. You glare at him.
“Because!” You shout. “It doesn’t work like that!”
Tobi tilts his head from side to side, before bouncing up and down again.
“Yay!” He shouts. You stare at him, shocked.
“Yay?” You say sadly. “You don’t want to be friends with me?”
Tobi stops bouncing, and faces you.
“No, Tobi doesn’t want to be friends with Leslie-chan!” He announces happily
You look up at him, tears threatening to spill.
“Why not?” You ask, ignoring the fact that you are contradicting yourself.
“Because!” Tobi announces. “I want to be more than friends!”
With that, Tobi shuffles his mask half off his face, exposing his lips. Before you can react, he leans in pushing them against yours.
You respond instantly, wrapping your arms around his waist as he cups your face in his hands. You lean into his touch, deepening the kiss in the process.
Tobi smiles into the kiss, pulling back.
“Is Leslie-chan still upset with Tobi?” he asks innocently.
You shake your head.
“No, Tobi-kun, I’m not.” You say, smiling up at him sweetly. “And I’m glad we’re not friends anymore.”
Tobi grins back down at you, his lips still exposed.
You do the only reasonable thing – you kiss him again, wrapping your arms around his neck.
As he kisses back you can’t help but think ‘I’m very glad we’re not friends anymore’
Sorry this one’s so crap, I’ve got mega writers block!!!
