The Apocalypse - Prologue (Day 0)
Chapter 1 : The Apocalypse - Prologue (Day 0)
This is the prologue of my new series of zombie survival. I'll continue on my other series if you want, but it won't be posted until I finish this story.
"Hello?" You said grumpily, holding the phone up to your ear. You absolutely hated it when someone interrupted your daily nap. But then...not many teens have one of those. But it didn't matter to you, all your friends knew you had one, and only called during that when something was important.
"Asher! Asher! Holy crap dude! Turn on the news!"
"I'm sleeping Lyle. And there are re-runs. I'll watch it later."
"You don't understand! You need to watch it now!" Lyle emphasized "now" so that you knew it was something serious.
"Alright, hold on." You reached over the phone base and grabbed the remote, pressing the big red button at the top of it. The T.V. turned on, showing a cartoon show that your sister was probably watching.
"What channel?" you asked, your eyes closing. You were still pretty tired.
"Whatever your CNN is. Mine is fifty five. Hurry up!"
"Okay, okay, chill." Pressing the five button twice, it came up to the food channel.
"Its the food cha-"
"Damnit Asher can you just find the damn channel!?" yelled Lyle. He sounded pretty upset.
"Calm down Lyle. I'm there now." You watched.
"...seems to be some kind of commotion at Times Square today. There have been reports about people with rotten, dirty skin walking around with missing limbs. Many people have been bitten by these things, and have fallen unconcious. They seem to adopt the same kind of..."disease", and turn like their predators. Whether this may be some kind of hoax or not, the police are already on it, and we advise you to stay inside your homes. This is Sheryl Mason, CNN news."
"Thank you Sheryl. What a news sto-"
You turned off the T.V. right there. It took a lot to spook you, but this was different. You were scared. It was on the news, showing things that should only be shown in horror movies. Everyone knows that somethings on the news should be censored. Blood...gore...but everything was on it this time. Those "things" biting other people...blood splattered on their face. Whatever it was...it was not normal.
"Hello? Lyle, are you still there?"
"Yeah."
"What are we going to do?"
"I dunno..."
"Why don't you come over to my house? Spend the night?"
"Sure. Be right there."
