Hearts twisted in love (Naruto story) {More and more} part 2

"You are late, Renna!" Alex narrowed her eyebrows still acting mad. Crossing her arms, she gave her friend a small glare but waited patiently for any explanation.

"Let's see what she has to say this time..."

I hung my head low, my cheeks turning red. I was late many times before, but I felt bad soon after and tried to fix my mistake to erase the guilt. "I..."I took a big breath. "I over-slept."

Alex's glare turned into confused look but she surpassed it quite quickly. "...Over-slept?"

I nodded, not feeling exactly proud, I mean sleeping at the middle of the day at my age wasn't exactly normal.
Alex watched me with those brown eyes as wandering if I am still a normal human being.

"Are you sure you aren't related to Kakashi?"

"WHAT?!"

Yamizaki was now totally sure she saw Renna. A slight sigh escaped her lips at the thought of her team-mate.

*FLASHBACK*

A brown-hair girl and girl with long black hair were sitting on the ground with their sensei-to-be. They were all waiting for the third member of the team to come not knowing what to expect. It was a cool day and ground was still a bit wet from the storm the day before. Yamizaki already knew Alex's name and all she wanted to do is to go home, but couldn't do so not before meeting her other team-mate.

"Excuse me, is this team 11?" A small voice came from behind. Yamizaki tilted her head only to see a short girl with blue hair and huge green eyes.

"Yeah," she replied calmly.

However the girl looked relieved and stepped closer. But in her misfortune she stepped directly into the mud and slipped. She landed with a thoud not before wetting everyone around her.
Yamizaki and Alex yelped as the mud hit them. They narrowed their eyes at the newcomer. The girl simply sat on the ground, eyes fixed on her knees.

"I'm sorry..." She whispered quietly, her eyes beaming with tears.

Alex and Yamizaki made an eye-contact and nodded in union. Then Alex kneeled besides the new girl and patted her shoulder. "No worries, we will survive."

Renna wiped her tears with her hands and smiled. "Thanks..."

Her eyes met with Yamizaki's. "Sure." Yamizaki shrugged.
*END OF THE FLASHBACK*
Yamizaki blinked. "What a clutz." Even though a smile appeared on her face at that thought.

"HEY YAMIZAKI-CHAN!" She was pulled back to reality by none other than a blond-haired boy with amazingly blue eyes.

"Naruto..."

"It was RENNA!" Kira yelled excited. She hasn't seen her friend for a while now. "Heh."

"Kira-chan, you know the girl who ran past us?" Hinata spoke quietly playing with her fingers.

"Uh-huh." Nodding, Kira began to walk forward. "Come Hinata let's see why she was in such rush."

Hinata hurried after Kira."O-ok."

"Kira." A low boy's voice came from the shadows of the nearest buildings.

Kira stopped death in her tracks, quickly grabbing a kunai with her right hand and pushed Hinata behind her with the other. "Who's there?" She asked loudly eyeing the surroundings carefully.

Red-haired boy appeared from the shadows, face emotionless and empty.

Gaara.

Kira’s lips twitched and a devilish smirk appeared on her face. “Hello Gaara.”

A boy gave her another one of his stares not showing any interest in reply. He and Kira have known each-other from childhood in Suna, but haven’t met ever since Kira moved to Konoha.

“What brings you here?”

Gaara crossed his arms. He looked like he was about to answer when…

“Gaara?!” A young female rushed to his side, blond hair pulled up into two pony-tails.

Shikamaru shifted and fixed his gaze on Briar. "What a drag. You said her name was Renna?"

Briar gave him a curt nod still looking into direction where his friend disappeared. It felt weird one moment she was lying on him, the next running away.
Briar shook his head,notnoticing Shika's gaze was now on him as the boy watched him cautiously.

"Does he like her?" A new feeling over-whelmed Shikamaru as the thought crept into his mind. He could not tell what it was, but it felt weird.

Briar suddenly stood up and dusted himself. He then tilted his head with a small smile. "I'm going to check what's going on. Are you coming?"

Shika studied him with blank expression. "...fine."

He pulled himself on his feet. »Lead the way.«

Briar didn't object and stepped on, aware of Shikamaru's presence.

“Hurry up, I want to know where did she go!” Rin cried, dragging Tenten for her hear, determined to see where Renna has left.

“I’m running, I’m running!” Tenten exclaimed while she tried to keep up with her friend.

»Tenten?«

Tenten stopped immediately, her cheeks turning light shade of pink. Suddenly all shy, she lowered her head, staring on the ground. Rin halted too, curiosity increasing.

“You know him?” She asked while observing the boy’s figure, long black hair and unusually purple eyes.

“Yeah. This is my team-mate Neji Hyuuga. Neji, this is Rin.” Tenten told her waving with her hands from one to another.

Neji’s eyes landed on Rin. “Hm…”

Rin gave him a slight smile. “Nice to meet you.”

Neji made no answer instead turned his back at her. Rin shot Tenten a wicked grin. “I expect you two were training?”

Tenten froze, knowing Neji’s comment if she would told him what they were doing. “We were just…”

“Going on the training grounds.” Rin finished.

Neji gave her a look. “It’s none of my business anyways. I will take my leaving.”

“Bye!” Rin yelled out while waving excitingly. Neji shook his head and headed wherever he intended to.

“You like him.” Rin said after he disappeared and elbowed Tenten into ribs.

“I DO NOT!”

“Sure. No let’s find Renna…”

Meanwhile Ahiru has already reached her destination- forest. Her skunk was now at her legs, looking and sniffing around, but not leaving her side. Ahiru made her way to a huge tree and in a minute she was sitting on top of it.

“What a day…” She whispered quietly, searching for any familiar animal.

Soon enough a bird appeared, followed by many others.
