All the girls laughed and I had a large impulse to splash someone. Since Jayme was the only one close enough too me I cupped my hand and tipped it onto the water hard. It fit her right in the face and she sputtered the water out of her mouth. I giggled at her wet face and she smiled dangerously. I dunked under the water but instead I came up and got a mouth full of it. I heard Kent laughing at us, she wasn’t far and Jayme and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking the same thing. We both shoved our hands into the water hard and a huge splash of water came crashing down on Kendall. She shrieked and whined, “My hair! You two are so dead!” Jayme and I both new this was not something to stick around for so we swam towards the boys and they stopped playing and watched us frantically paddle away from the much angry Kendall. All 4 boys were laughing hysterically at us as we reached them. I turned around to see Kent glide under the surface of the water and disappear. Everyone looked around trying to see where she went. Then all of a sudden we hear Dougie say, “What the hel…” and then all we heard was splashing. The other 5 of us turned to see what he was complaining about and saw Dougie floating under the water and Kent holding onto his leg. Realizing that Kent must have swam up behind him and grabbed his leg, pulling him under, we all began once again laughing hard. Once the laughing had subsided I suggested that we all head back to the beach and sit around and dry off for a few hours. Everyone agreed and we wadded or way back to the shore. The sand was hot so we had to run back up to our spot on the sandy beach. I put sunscreen on Kent’s back and she laid down on her towel to suntan. Dougie sat down beside her and looked out at the water while they talked. Jayme went over and played some volleyball with some other people further down the beach and Danny took out his laptop and started working on something. I asked Harry to put some sunscreen on my back and then lay down on my towel and worked on my tan. Just as Harry sat down to the right of me he said to us, “Look at those guys on those sea-doo’s.” I looked out from under my arm and saw 3 people riding sea-doo’s on the water; they looked like they were having a blast.
“Let’s rent some.” I suggested to the others. Kent, Danny, Dougie and Harry stared at me like I was crazy.“Let’s go.” I said, enthusiastically. I pulled on my flip-flops and slipped on my sunglasses, as I began walking away I could here everyone behind me shuffle and follow. I made my way to the little stand that they had the rental sea-doo’s and walked up to the guy behind the counter. I smiled at him when he noticed me standing there. It must have been the big trail of people behind me that caught is attention. I saw his eyes flicker down to my chest, apparently Harry did too because he came up behind me and put an arm around my waist, protectively. I looked up at Harry and saw him giving a glare to the guy. I cleared my throat and said, “We’d like to rent some sea-doo’s for the day please.”
The guy behind the counter replied, “Yes, Sorry. My name is Jackson. How many would you like to rent?”
“Uhh… How many guys?” I asked all the people behind me. Kent and Dougie shrugged and Danny yelled 2. Somewhere along the way Jayme must have caught up with us. She agreed with Danny. I turned back and looked up at Harry asking him how many he thought. “2.” He muttered.
“2 it is then.” I smiled at Jackson. He handed me a couple of sheets of paper with writing on it that I had to sign. Harry took the sheets from my hand and said he’d fill them out while the rest of us got fitted into life jackets.
