I'm pretty sure my pained screams echoed throughout the whole floor of the hospital. Alex was standing beside me, lending me his hand to squeeze as a distraction, or lightly dabbing a cold, wet washcloth to my forehead as he went back and forth between seeing what was going on with the birthing of the baby and my side. "You're doing great, babe." Alex said softly, pressing his lips to my forehead. "Alex!" I shrieked, tears rolling down my cheeks. Alex looked worried for only a moment before a grin replaced his once-frown. He brought his lips to my ear, and let his breath run down my neck for a moment before speaking. "I like it when you scream my name, baby." He whispered. I let out a small giggle, followed by a shrill scream in pain. Give it meer moments before the sound of a crying baby filled the room, and i let out a relieved sigh, falling back onto the bed, and trying my best not to fall asleep then and there. Alex pulled the chair closer to the bed, grabbing the orange juice he had bought me off the table and handing it to me. I took a long drink for it, before handing it to him and taking his hand. "I love you." I whispered. "Love you too." He smiled before the doctor called him over to the the ambilical cord. Some people say the happiest day of your life is your wedding, all I can say is that they obviously have never had a child. Alex walked over me, a bundled pink blanket in his arms, and the widest grin I have ever seen, plastered across his handsome face. He looked up from the blanket for a moment, at me, smiling. "Would you like to hold your daughter, Danielle?" He asked. I nodded my head vigorously, watching as Alex approached and put the baby into my arms. I looked down at the baby girl, our baby girl, and grew a grin to match Alex's. Her eyes were shut tight, and her little hands layed loosely at her sides. Her dark brown hair stuck up in different directions. "What do you want to name her, sweets?" Alex asked. I smiled up at him, and took hold of his hand. "Can we name her Avery, Alex? Please!" Alex placed a kiss on my lips, grinning at me. "It's pretty. I love it." I grinned. "You get to pick her middle name." "You sure?" Alex asked. I nodded and looked down at Avery. "Elizabeth." He whispered. "Avery Elizabeth Gaskarth." I sighed. "How pretty." "Just like her mommy." Alex smiled, kissing my forehead. "She's got her daddy's pretty brown eyes." I giggled. "She's got your lips and hair colour." He told me. I nodded, keeping my eyes fixated on her as she slept. Her mouth hung slightly agape, her chest moved up and down as she breathed peacefully. Her little hands were balled up into loose fists and her head snuggled into the soft blanket she was wrapped in. She was perfect. She was everything I ever hoped for. And this was just the beginning of the rest of my life.
