Butterfly Kisses (A Shino Love Story)

Hoshifinally came downstairs after spending nearly two hours in her room unpacking. She walked into the kitchen and saw Inoichi sitting at the table, sipping sake softly.
"Don't you think it's a little early for alchohol, Uncle?"she asked asshe grabbed a bottle of water and took a swig from it.
"Good morning to you too, Hoshi." He chuckled as he looked up from his book.
"Do you know where Ino is?" she questioned the blond.
He nodded. "She's at the flower shop. Oh, and we signed you up for the academy. Finals are tomorrow, have fun!" he said in a giddy voice as he pranced out of the room.
Well there's a shocker.
Hoshirolled her eyes andshe walked down the streets, heading for the flower shop.She soon was confused as to where she was and bumped into a blond boy.
"Oi! Oh hi!" he shouted.
Hoshicringed. "I'm right infront of you, numbnutts."She growled asshe hit him in the head with a fist.
He rubbed his head and looked up at her. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki and I'm gonna be the Hokage one day!" he giggled.
"My name's Hoshi Yamanaka and I seriously doubt that. Now, can you tell me where Ino's flower shop is?"Hoshi asked inher quiet voice.
He pointed to a building andshe nodded at the still sore-headed blond and walked over to the shop.Hoshi pushed the doors open and steeped inside smiling at Ino when she calledHoshi's name.
"This is a nice place,"Hoshi commented, "Can I help any?"
"Nah, I've got it; it's pretty slow today. Why don't you go and train for the finals?" she offered.
Hoshisighed but nodded and headed towards the woods to train.She found a nice feild and began training. After only about five minutesshe saw this gorgeous butterfly. It was a bright shade of green with black spots on its long wings.She stopped what you were doing to watch it.
The butterfly flew over toher and landed on her cheek before fluttering infront of her. Hoshi began following the butterfly carefully. The bug led her deeper and deeper into the forest but Hoshi payed it no mind, she was in a sort of trance. Suddenly the bug flew onto the finger of a boy then fluttered into the treetops. Hoshi realized he had been training and bowed her head slightly.
"I'm sorry," she apologized, her voice barely over a whisper.
The boy said nothing but nodded at her. She then turned to leave and was about to step over a log when a bug got in the exact place where she was going to put her foot. She shrieked and fell backwards. She closed her eyes waiting for the impact but none came.
"Walk much?" the boy teased as he sat her back on her feet.
"I'm not usually a cluts it's just that..." Hoshitrailed off. Nobody ever really understood her thing with bugs.
"It's just?" he pressed.
"It's just that a bug got into my path, okay?" she growled as she stared at the black glasses covering the boys eyes.
Hoshi could swear the boy smiled behind the large collar of his shirt. She then turned to leave.
"Goodbye Shino." She stated cooly.
"Wait! How'd you know my name?"Shino questioned as he came closer to her.
"I read minds. My name's Hoshi by the way." Hoshi explained. "Anyways I've got to be going before it gets dark."
"Do you even know the way out?" Shino mocked.
"Er...no..." Hoshi admitted as she bit her lip.
"Here, let me walk you home." He offered. Hoshi shrugged and allowed the boy to walk her home.
The walk was pretty much silent. AlthoughHoshi did hearShino's bugs making fun of him and teasing him. He didn't seem fased because he didn't seem to think thatshe understood the creatures.
Thoughshe did.
"This is my house."Hoshi answered. "Well actually it's my cousin Ino's house...but that's besides the point."
He smiled again. "You're a Yamanaka, that's strange. They don't like bugs very much, and the girls are always completely terrified or grossed out about them."
Shesmiled at the boy. "Yeah well I'm nothing like my cousin, she annoys the hell outta me to tell you the truth."
He chuckled at this.
"Goodnight Shino!" you called as you waved and went inside.
"Night." Shino whispered as he turned around and headed home.
.:The next day:.
"Shi-Shi if you don't wake up I'm going to sing Don't Matter again!" Ino called from the hallway.
Hoshi's eye twitched as she crawled out of bed. That song annoyed her more than Ino's preppyness. The tired girl then showered and got dressed. She then grabbed her ipod off of her dresser, hooking it to one of the pockets in her shorts and putting one of the earphones in.
"Let's go." You grumbled to Ino as you grabbed a water and a saltine cracker.
"You really should eat more Hoshi, somebody may think you're anorexic." Ino mumbled to you as you turned on your ipod and began listening to it.
"Nag, nag, nag." You mocked as you continued to walk.
She rolled her eyes and walked the rest of the way in silence.
Whenthey arrivedthey tooktheir seats.Hoshi sat down in the front withher forehead pressed to the desk likeshe wasasleep where asshe was completely awake,she just didn't want to seem anxious.
"Alright class, let's have the finals!" the sensei announced.
"We're going to be doing this in order by last name, A-Z." The man announced.
A while later...
He then looked at his clip board and smiled. "Alright new-comer Hoshi Yamanaka!" Iruka shouted.
"I first want you to do transformation jutsu; of anybody you want." He said as he lookedher over.
"Can I do more than one person...like a skit?" Hoshi questioned he shrugged and nodded.
"Alright! Transformation Jutsu!"she shouted.
There was a pop andshe wasIno.
"Sasuke-kun! *squea*"she mimicked causing the class to uproar with laughter. Everyone except Ino that is, but she looked calm.
"Gosh Shikamaru stop being so lazy!"Hoshi nagged.
Another pop andshe was now Shikamaru.Hoshi fell lifelessly to the floor and pretended to snore.
"So bothersome..."shegrumbled.
More laughter and another pop,she was Sasuke.
"I can't...not until I kill him!"Hoshi mimicked asshe pointed to an imaginary person.
Questionable glances and other pop.She wasnow Itachi sitting gracefully on the desk, doinghis nails.
"Hmm? Oh...er...fear me!"
More laughter andHoshi turned back into herself and bowed swiftly.
There were smiles all around, even the victims of her insults were smiling.
The sensei laughed. "Alright now I would like you to make three shadow clones."
Hoshibit her lip...small numbers really wasn't her strong point.
"Iruka-Sensei, I don't do shadow clones...I made up my own jutsu where the clones are stronger and harder to defeat."Hoshi whispered to him.
"Alright. Class, we will be seeing an original move here but it's pretty much the same thing." Iruka announced.
Hoshinodded and closed her eyes doing a few complicated hand signs.She then opened her eyes and whispered something ever so lightly that even Kiba had trouble picking up what was said. There were a few pops and surrounding you were about 7 clones.Hoshi cursed under her breath.
"I'm sorry Iruka-sensei, I'm not used to doing so little clones."She explained asshe bowed her head.
"It's alright, you may take your seat."Hoshi plopped down in her seat and they announced the teams.
"Team 7 will be made up of...Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha and lead by Kakashi Hatake!" he announced.
Ino shrieked in anger and Sakura lept with joy as did Naruto, Sasuke slammed his head into his desk.
"Team Guy: Neji Hyuuga, Ten-ten, and Rock Lee. Lead by Might Guy!" he announced again. A boy in a green jumpsuit did a thumbs up and a wink, a long haired boy shrugged and the Ten-Ten girl smiled.
"Team 10: Shikamaru Nara, Chouji Akamichi, and Ino Yamanaka. Lead by Asuma Sarotobi." Ino once again shrieked in anger and both Shikamaru and Chouji made annoyed sounds.
'Oh this is just too funny!' Hoshi thought.
"And finlly Team 8. Made up of Hinata Hyuuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame. Lead by Kurenai Yuhi." Hoshi groaned and slammed her head on her desk-hard, harder than Sasuke had anyways.
"Oh wait, I made a mistake. Team 8 will also have Hoshi Yamanaka on it."
Hoshi let out a sigh of releif and closed her eyes fora breif moment. She opened them to the feeling of being watched. There standing over her was the boy she met in the woods. She squeaked and jumped back, right into another person's chest.
She squeaked at the boy with the dog on his head and jumped back again, bumping into something softer and knocking it to the ground. She looked to see what it was and saw a girl with short hair and white eyes sitting on the floor.
Hoshioutstretched her handto helpthe girl up.The girlsmiled and tookHoshi's hand, standing up.
"I-I'm Hinata..."the white-eyed girlstammered.
"I'm Kiba and this here's Akamaru!" the dog-boy chimed.
You glanced at Shino knowingly and me blushed lightly, barely managing to hide it from her.
"And as you know I'm Hoshi!"she whispered asshe shook Hinata and Kiba's hand.Hoshi then stood up on your tip toes and nuzzled Akamaru's face. He yipped happily and licked her cheek.
"Cute dog."Hoshiremarked asshe pulled back and rubbed her cheek.
"D-do y-you already know Sh-Shino?" Hinata questioned.
"Yeah, I got lost in the forest while following a butterfly and he walked me home." Hoshi answered.
Kiba smiled at Shino knowingly and he shot him a glare, although it was hidden behind his sunglasses.Hoshi stood smirking, knowingshe could read both of their minds.
"So, you dig my cousin?"Hoshi questioned, drawing the attention from Shino who was thankful.
"W-what, no!" Kiba shouted.
Akamaru barked.
"Well your mind and dog beg to differ."Hoshi muttered.
"You understand dogs?" he mumbled.
"Yeah. Dogs, demons, and bugs. I also can read minds and such."Hoshi stated asshe put her hands behindher back.
"That's c-cool," Hinata whispered.
"You know Hina-chan, you're really cute when you stutter. Don't ever doubt yourself, Naruto's just a knucklehead and brainless." Hoshi laughed as she hugged the shorter girl tightly.
You pulled away just as the sensei appeared.
"Hey everybody, I'm Kurenai-Sensei! Let's go somewhere outside because it's so pretty and get to know each other, okay?" she suggested. You all agreed and went into an empty feild.
"So I want you to say your name, age, hopes/dreams, likes, dislikes, and your specialty."
"Hai." They all said together.
"Alright we'll just go in order, start with you." She said motioning to Kiba.
"My name's Kiba Inuzuka and I'm 12. I don't really know what my hopes or dreams are... I like animals and...girls but I don't like animal abusers and I'm able to fight along side with my cute puppy. and I understand him when he talks...yeah..." Kiba drawled.
"M-my name's H-Hinata Hyuuga. I-I'm 12. I-I want t-to prove t-that I'm n-not just s-some helpless, shy g-girl. I-I like nice people and r-ramen...but I d-don't like b-bullies or p-pressurers. I h-harbor the Byakugan." Hinata stuttered.
"I'm Shino Aburame and I'm 12. ... I like bugs. ... I don't like bug-squishers or haters... ... I control bugs... ..." he whispered in a barely audible tone.
"My name's Hoshi Yamanaka. I'm 12 and the cousin of Ino. My hopes and dreams don't concern you and porbably wouldn't make very much sense to you anyways. I like bugs, nightimeand the rain. I don't like anybody who tries to harm any living creature, fangirls of any sort, and obnoxious people like my cousin Ino. I'm able to understand and speak with bugs, demons, and dogs. I can also read minds and do all sorts of other things." Hoshi explained in a soft, quiet, and calm voice.
"Alright, I want you four to meet me at this location tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. sharp." She said as she disappeared with a pop.
"I think I'm just gonna sleep here, that'll save me time." You laughed as you lay down on the grass, your head in somebody's lap.
"What about food?" Kiba asked.
"I don't eat very often. I got used to it when I lived with my mother. She used to go days without letting me eat for something stupid like leaving a light on or what ev."Hoshi mumbled as she kept her eyes closed.
"I'm not lying on Hinata am I?"she questioned with one eye open.
They shook their heads andshe looked up to see a slightly redened Shino staring down at her.
"Hello there."Hoshi whispered asshe rolled off of him.
"Hello." He mumbled.
Hoshi looked around to see that Hinata and Kiba had already left for home.She closed her eyes and smiled slightly.
"Come on, I'll walk you home." Shino offered.
"I don't want to walk." Hoshi whined.
"Fine then, I'll carry you." He muttered as he picked you up.
He carried Hoshi home and she fell asleep in his arms. He then put her on her bed and left without a sound.
