Harry Potter Fan Fic-Part 1- After Harry's death

The last few days of the school term seemed to fly by, along with the holidays themselves. Kayla’s father was a wizard and her mother had been magic too, when she was alive, so of course Kayla already knew about Hogwarts and couldn’t wait to go. Peter had grown up knowing about it too, though only his father was magic, his mother had known about magic since when she got pregnant with him, his father had told her. But neither of Kade’s parents knew a thing about magic, and both were a bit resigned about him going to Hogwarts instead of the religious school they had picked out for him. Of course they had been brought up to think that, should any magic ever prove to be real, it was the spawn of the devil. But once he found out that all of his friends were going there too, he wouldn’t take no as an answer, which was odd coming from Kade, he was a good boy who would do what he was told when he was told, he didn’t like the idea of disappointing anyone. Though that included his friends, if they needed him to make up an excuse for them not turning up to school or something along those lines, he would have one for them.

They spent the entire holidays preparing, they all had everything they needed, Kade had been a charity case that they had all put into since his parents refused to pay for him to go to a school that was a sin against god. Kade arrived at the train station early with Peter, he had spent all holidays with Peter to get ready for school. Kayla arrived next and walked calmly through the barrier to platform nine and three quarters, she had, of course, been told all about it and her parents were at her either side. When she got through Peter pushed himself up off the ground where he had fallen asleep and helped her with her bags onto the train while Kade stayed at the entrance waiting for Katariina to get there. The other two had shown him what carriage they had so that he could show her the way when she got there. Kade stood waiting anxiously where he had been told to wait, he wasn’t going to go to Hogwarts without Katariina beside him, she was like his sister and he was hopeless without her. When the final call for boarding passengers came she tripped through the portal with her luggage slung over her shoulders and her cat Boots clinging madly to her arm as if his life depended on it. Kade laughed and took any loose baggage off her as he directed her to the carriage where the other two were waiting.
“That was a close call.”

“I know, but hey I made it didn’t I?” They stepped onto the train and where thrown against the edge of the hallway as the train started.

“Barely.” She laughed and threw herself into the compartment that Kade gestured to, he followed her in and both Peter and Kayla stood up as if ready to fight whoever wanted to take their seats. Kayla shrunk back down onto her seat when she noticed who it was.

“Oh so it’s just you then.” Katariina faked offended as she threw her baggage where the rest of theirs lay.
”Just me? Oh I thought I might get a little more of a welcome from you.” They all laughed at her pathetic attempt at being offended. She fell down onto the seat and began trying to pull Boots off her red cardigan where his claws were still clinging to, his entire body still trembling. Kade sat beside her, clearly not comfortable with the situation, he was going away from home, to a place that his parents thought was the Devil’s home. If Katariina wasn’t there he would have chickened out long ago. Kayla and Peter fell deep into conversation about what they knew about, and expected from, the magical world. Kade and Katriina tried to pay attention, but they both got lost soon after the first word was said. All they both understood about the talk was something about a contest.

“ Yea, the Triwizard Tournament. Of course we are too young to enter it, and I hear that Headmaster Longbottom has gotten good at the age line.” Peter pulled out a book and flicked it open to the page with information about the spell. He handed it to Katariina, noticing her interest. She took the book and pulled out the spells that she had collected. Kade read over her shoulder as Kayla and Peter returned to heir conversation which Kayla turned, not very subtly, to all of the creatures she could think of, listening carefully whenever Peter contributed.

The door to their cabin began to open and they all froze, mid sentence. When the door was completely open all of them turned their heads to look up at in unison. At the door stood a boy about their age, he had messy brown hair and looked rather done up, as if he was from a wealthy family. He looked around the room, His mouth pulled into a sneer that showed most of his teeth, turning slightly at the edges to turn it into an evil smile.
“So these girls are some pretty new mudblood’s?” He was referring to Kayla and Katariina, but Katariina decided it was more interesting to misinterpret his words.
“ Well actually, male and male” she gestured to Peter and Kade, Peter had long hair, so if you didn’t see his face then he could pass for a girl, and Kade had a pretty boys face that could pass as a girls if you add makeup, Katariina had tested . “But hey, if you swing that way.” She shrugged and his smile dropped. He had a group of about five boys standing behind him and they all walked into the carriage after him.

“Who are you to say something like that to me?” Katariina shrugged and held out one hand lazily.
“ Katariina Malfoy, and you are?” He took the hand uncertainly as though this meant something; Kayla and Peter were staring at her too, and Kade…he was just pushed back against the wall, still sitting, trying to shrink into the shadows, hoping no one would notice him and hoping that they wouldn’t get expelled before they even got to school.

“I’m Thomas Rivielldo. Tom.” He dropped her hand and took a small step back to sit on the seat opposite her, clearly trying to just be a pain.

“So you’re a Malfoy are you? You sure don’t act like one.” Katariina put her legs up on his knees, using him as a footstool.
“If Rivielldo’s are unknown, unwanted, boring and a pain in the ass, then you act perfectly.” He of course took offence at this comment but his smile quickly formed back on his face. Katariina didn’t get it; he was smiling at an insult like that? She looked over to Kade who had his head in his hands.
“You are wearing a skirt Katariina, put your legs down.” She instantly dropped her feet back to the ground, standing up and pulling Tom up with her.
“You’re gross!” All of Tom’s cronies took a step forward, and with one swish around the room they all stood rigid and fell back.
”Potrificus totalis.” She muttered under her breath, but Tom heard and stood frozen in amazement that she already knew it and that she could do it on such a large scale. She slipped her wand back into her pocket and her hand slid up to his neck. She froze as footsteps passed outside the door, only now remembering that the door had been left wide open, she watched as the last part of the girls shadow passed by the door, and then she heard the footsteps stop and the girl walked back to the door, peering through. The girl sighed and turned into the room.

“What’s going on here?” She looked like she was their age so no one reacted that much, until Kade stood up and stepped forward towards her.

“Encase you can’t tell, this retard is getting Killed. Got a problem?” Every in the carriage that knew him was silent; this wasn’t like him at all. But the new girl didn’t know him so she reacted to this comment like she normally would.

“Yes, as a matter of fact I do. I’d hate to be responsible for the loss of a family member.” Kade shrugged dismissively.

“You wouldn’t be. Katariina would.” The rest of the Carraige seemed to sink back as they continued their argument, Tom still choking and the rest shocked that Kade would act like that.

“Responsibility comes in many forms.”

“Well move along now, and if you don’t see it then you can’t be held responsible for it in any way…” They both seemed to be getting quite abnnoyed at each other by this point.

“Shut up git, nobody asked for your opinion.”

“And nobody asked for your presence.”

“Nobody asked for yours.” Their voices were going steadily louder.

“These are my friends here, my presence was specifically requested.

“And he is my cousin; it’s kind of implied that I step in.”

“And she is my sister, so I suggest you step out.”

“And you’re about to get a very flat face if YOU don’t butt out!” He shrugged

“You’re about to walk away whether you like it or not.” His eyes fell down and skimmed over the page about the imperius curse that Katariina’s diary had fallen open to.

“Uh huh, I hate kids like you, so up themselves;”

“Not up myself, I just know the imperious curse, and I find that it would be useful in situations like this.”

Yeah, Yeah, talk, talk, talk, and who CAN’T do the imperious curse? Honestly.” Katariina turns to Kade, finally bringing herself back into the conversation having recovered her tongue.

“YOU can’t do the curse.” Kade looked around the room.

“Sure I can.” He pulled out his wand and with a simple gesture and a muttered word pointed at Peter, Peter went stiff. Kade then gestured his wand towards Kayla who Peter was then forced to kiss. Peter let go of the spell, leaving Kayla and Peter to turn and glare at him, both of them were picturing the cruellest ways of torture they could think of. He turned back to the new girl who had already come up with a response to that interesting scene.

“Well, ok, so you can do the curse…unless they actually WANTED to do that.” Kade laughed kind of cruelly.

“Well of course they did, but there is no way in hell either of them would admit to it.” Kayla and Peter fell back, both blushing madly. The new girl rolled her eyes and looked back to Tom.

“Whatever. Tom, this is boring, I heard someone in fifth having some sort of ruckus up the train, let’s ditch these losers.” Kade dropped back, finally coming back to his senses, in a way, and letting Kat take the fight. Kat turned slightly, not loosening her grip on Tom, she held out her spare hand to the new girl.

“My name is Katariina Malfoy, I’m the one who is killing this kid, and you are?” She slowly took her hand

“I’m Andrea Black, Andy.” They shook a both responded in unison, perfect timing and perfect tone.

“Nice to meet you.” They both stared curiously at the other before Tom began to squirm. Kat glanced up at him.

“If I can’t kill him then can I at least mutilate him a bit?” Andy choked back a laugh.

“No… I think if I let you do that he would take my head.” Kat looked thoughtful for a moment.
