Jenna yawned and opened her eyes. She was on a bed in what looked like a hotel room. She turned her head and came face to face with Dominic without his shirt on sleeping a bit too close to her.
"WOAH!" Jenna leaped out of the bed and before Dominic was fully awake she was on his side of the bed giving him a hard slap across the face.
"OWWW! What the hell!?" Dominic sat up.
"There are such things as hotel rooms with two beds you pervert!" Jenna screamed. She quickly glanced down to find she was still in the same clothes she left in thankfully.
"Sorry, I thought you would be scared and lonely with everything that's happened but then you would wake up in my arms – "
"And you would make everything better again," Jenna finished for him, "Is that it? You think I would want to cuddle in bed with some shirtless guy I just met, nay, kidnapped by, just because I was "lonely"? You make me sound like some kind of shameless flirt, or worse slut," she scoffed at him and his shocked expression.
"B-but…" he trailed off in thought, "Isn't that how all the other girls would feel though? In all those stories…."
"Stories?" her mind flashed back to Quizilla, but, no, he couldn't be referring to those kinds of stories, could he? Why would a guy like him be reading bad chick flicks online? Though he did mention some ridiculous thing about being a vampire…
"Uh, um, yeah, never mind. Just forget about it," Dominic mumbled. Jenna stared at him, then started cracking up laughing with the realization that those were exactly the kind of stories he was referring to. She couldn’t stop laughing and she leaned up against the wall for support gasping for air.
"It's not that funny" he pouted and glared.
"I can't believe you!" she sputtered through her laughs, "You. Vampire. Capture." Was all she could make out before another set out laughs took her breath away.
"Ok quit it! If you annoy me too much I could kill you!"
"What, bite me?" she giggled,
"No," he said annoyed, "But I could shoot you," and he pulled out his gun. Jenna was done laughing anyways she decided.
"You'd kill me after saving me?" Jenna hoped her emotions didn't show, because she was a bit scared he actually might shoot her. Sure he seemed harmless, but what normal person, guy even, read those silly stories and tried to make them come true? It must have showed, because he gave a menacing smile, or maybe he didn't notice she was scared and that smile was meant to be her answer. Jenna just stared at him. No way could she stop him from shooting her, no matter what she did, so she just stood her ground, waiting.
"Maybe," he answered casually, "But that would just be so bloody and the hotel would be a bit upset with me," he put his gun away and Jenna let out a breath she was holding. "And it would be such a waist of a pretty girl like you, I did save you because I liked you," this time he smiled a genuine smile. "Come on, we slept all day, it's time to get going again."
He pulled his shirt on and opened the door for her. Jenna was quiet the whole way to the car. After doing some thinking she decided to keep her sarcastic remarks to her self, this guy was seriously bipolar or something, and with him serious was apparently also dangerous. After about 5 minuets of driving Dominic sighed. "Look I'm sorry about the gun thing, you just guessed it right on the head and I was annoyed and embarrassed, will you please talk to me again? I promise I won't be mad at any thing sarcastic you throw at me," he pleaded with puppy dog eyes and a cute face, which made Jenna smile finally.
"Ok," she said quietly.
"Score!" Dominic cheered.
"Where are we going?"
"My place, it's not only my place, it's a run down building me and my other friends are living in. Some people would call it a gang I guess. A bunch of people who are living together because we have no were else to go," he tried his best to explain.
"Cool," Jenna stated lamely, with nothing better to say in response.
"Why are we traveling at night?" after his recent speech she wasn’t afraid to start asking him 20 questions.
"Duh, I'm a vampire," he said sarcastically, knowing there was no way he could convince her of that.
Jenna grinned, "Oh right, duh,"
"And another duh, because I don’t want to get caught," he answered.
"Caught? How? Do you really think my parents went through the trouble of trying to track me down? They're probably glad to be rid of me,"
"Oh not because of you, I'm wanted by the law for a few things. That's actually why our "gang" thing started. A bunch of people without money or homes who were forced to do some things the law frowns upon, formed together for each others help and protection. It's my family,"
"And now I'm going to go live with you there?" she wondered.
"If you want to, I don't actually want to drag you into it because if we ever get caught, you will be accused of crime when you haven’t done anything," Dominic voiced his worries.
"Well, I have no where else to go! Sure I'll check it out. I don't care about the law much. Besides, I can always use the excuse that I wasn't involved with you people, but actually kidnapped!" she winked. They smiled and a comfortable silence fell over them.
After about 10 minuets Dominic sighed, "So, you're probably never going to fall in love with me huh?" he wondered, like it was the most natural thing to ask, shocking Jenna a bit.
"Um, well, you can't predict who you might fall in love with or not, but at this point, no, I don’t think I will, sorry," she tried to be as nice as possible to Dominic's fallen face, "But hey, at leased your pretty hot, I'll give you that much," succeeding in making him smile. He let out another sigh,
"I suppose that's to be expected. Life is not a book. I just really badly wanted to find that perfect person who was madly in love with me, and in all those stories it seemed to work out that way. I'm sorry for kidnapping you, but other than that love stuff, I really was just trying to help you," he apologized.
"It's alright, really, I'm glad you rescued me. You’re my hero!" Jenna grinned and patted him on the shoulder, "But I think this damsel in distress just wants to be friends with her hero,"
"Fair enough. Oh, and you should probably know some thing before we get there, cause we're getting close,"
"You're not really a vampire?!" Jenna gasped in shock.
"You never know," Dominic chuckled, "But my name isn't really Dominic. It's Kyle. I told you it was Dominic 'cause Kyle doesn't sound dark and mysterious enough. Dominic is just the kind of name that fits hot vampire captors,"
"Wow, you really thought of everything. Kyle fits you much better though, and to tell you the truth I never liked the name Dominic, it always makes me think of dominos," Jenna and Kyle, the former Dominic, laughed together.
"We're here!" Kyle announced as he turned down an ally and parked in front of an old run down building in the corner. Jenna felt a rush of adrenalin when she stepped out of the car and towards her new home, and hopefully her new family. Despite all of Kyle's flaws, like his lame attempts of "love" and vainness about his looks, Jenna had quickly grown to like him, he was a good friend.
