"YOU STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM HERE!" Chance hollered. "Ohhhhh, I'm so scared! The big bad half-breed is going to kick us out with some half assed spells! What are you gonna do magic moron? Pull an actual chance out of your ass?" Braden challenged. "You know the funny thing is, the kid's name is-" Mitch started but was swiftly interuppted, "I KNOW MY OWN NAME BLOODSUCKER! Besides, why should we let you back in! It was your friends who did this whole mess! Who's to say you guys aren't a bunch of traitors!" Chance yelled."Chance you need to-"Jason started. "NO! I'm not going to listen to all of your-" before he knew it Iris grabbed his arm with one hand, her other hand pushed his shoulder forward and he fell over her leg which was purposely in front of his legs. As he fell to the ground Iris locked his arm behind his back and sat on him. "OW, IRIS WHAT THE-!" "Would it kill you to not be a dickweed!" Iris yelled. Chance shut his mouth when he realized he had pissed her off.
"Chance she's right, they've gone through enough. I mean Bralyn Dering had to..." Danae stopped, and Iris turned to look at Bralyn who still averted her eyes. "And look Chance, we have a new guest so we have to get things prepared,"Jason pointed out. Iris got off Chance and turned away to fold her arms. Chance got up and his mother and father pushed him along, he looked back to see Colton wrap his arms around her and she hugged him too. No way in hell!Iris and the big bloodsucker! I wonder how the idiot vampire with the attitude is dealing with this. Braden who had his face turned elsewhere, but his eyes snapped to glare at Chance, and Chance smirked. Looks like I'm not the only one who isn't pleased.
"Does that mean Larissa is staying?" Bralyn asked hopefully. Braden had his arms around her, "sure, whatever you want Lyn." Then Iris's face contorted, and Larissa who saw, glared.I still hate you, you know that? "Feeling's mutual, freak," Larissa sneered. Before Iris could tell her off, Colton pushed her inside, and everyone followed. "Look, I know we've all had a hard day, but I think for now, can we just not talk about it alright?" Bralyn asked. "Sure, no problem Lyn, go to sleep okay?" Daaron told, obviously caring and she forced a smile (which really meant Bralyn was down) "Yea. I'll see you in the room Iris," Bralyn sighed and disappeared. "Miss Larissa, we have a room prepared for you," Danae called. Larissa then blinked, "how'd she know my name" but shrugged it off and disappeared.
"God this day sucked!" Mitch moaned. "No shit, Sherlock, Bralyn was betrayed by two of her best friends, who we thought were the normal ones! And she had to kill them!" Daaron almost yelled, out of character. "Geez Daaron, you're sure worked up," Mitch commented. "So sue me," Daaron grumbled and disappeared, with Mitch following after him. Iris was alone with Braden and Colton. Then she felt Colton place his hand on her head. "Get some rest, you've had a long day, alright?" Colton smiled. Iris blushed, "yea, you too." He kissed her forehead and disappeared. Iris held placed her hand on her forehead and blushed madly. Holy Jesus, he kissed me! Okay it was only my forehead, but still! Then she felt someone staring at her, it was Braden. "Oh hey, uh-" then Braden was gone. Was it something I said?

"You're taking this a lot better than I thought," Chancesaid as Braden had his hand on the knob. Braden retracted his hand and cocked his head up. "Taking what better, punk?" "Don't play dumb, I mean Iris and the big guy, what's his face? Colton! You were pissed at me when you found out my secret crush, what about this guy?" "What about him?" Braden replied coolly as he was opening his door, then Chance shoved it shut. "Aren't you going to do anything about this? Because if you won't I will, and make her mine," Chance informed. Braden sighed, "look, dumbshit, I told you before, your little theories aren't real, I don't feel anything for that girl. Colton is my best friend, and he can be with whoever he wants. And if you really loved Iris, you'd want her to be happy, even if that meant being with someone else." Chance pulled back his hand and slammed his room shut. Braden looked back at Chance's door and then went into the room to see Colton sitting on his bed.
"Hey Den, piss off the Chance kid again?" Colton smirked a little. Braden shrugged as he kicked off his shoes. "Same old same old right?" and he lied down on his bed. "I'm sorry, Braden," Colton sighed. "About?" Braden asked as he closed his eyes. "About Iris." Braden clenched his fist. "Why would that concern me? So you found someone, I'm happy for you." Colton blinked a little. "Oh, I just thought that-" "Well you thought wrong," Braden intercepted and turned to face the wall, away from Colton. Colton just sighed and lied down, looking at the ceiling. "You better not hurt her," Braden called. "I would never hurt her, you know I won't." "Yea, I know."

The sun went down hours ago, well they were technically in the basement underground, so she wouldn't know, but Iris still lied in her bed wide awake. Man, what the hell! Everytime I get attacked by the traitors, sure I'd get the nightmare, but this time it's different, my body just won't sleep! Maybe it's because I'm guilty...
"Goddammit all!" Iris cursed under her breath and she threw off her bedsheet and comforter and walked out of the room quietly, careful not to wake Bralyn up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Braden knew the conversation he had with Colton was hours ago, but he still lied in his bed wide awake. F***! WHAT THE F***!I slept just fine everytime all the other damn traitors attacked, sure I'd pace around worried about her, but this time it's different, my body just won'tsleep! Maybe it's because I'm jealous...
"F***it all!" Braden cursed under his breath and he threw off his bedsheet and comforter and walked out the room, quietly, careful not to wake Colton up. Braden walked irritably up the stairs and into the ground floor. He reached into the fridge for a snack, but then he heard something coming from outside. Braden stepped out of the sliding door and onto the deck, then heard the noise again. It's coming from the roof, is it a traitor? No, they can't get past Danae's barrier unless she puts it down herself. Then what is it? Braden disappeared and reappeared at the top of the roof, and to his surprise he saw Iris sitting a few feet below him looking up at the stars, her arms around her legs.
"Don't tell me you're one of those corny romantics who love the stars and think of poetry in their head," Braden snickered. "Wrong, I'm one of those kickass geniuses like Galileo who look at stars because they're just so damn shiny,I know it's night and you're normally doing... vampire stuff, but as the girl who screwed your sleeping patterns to adjust them to day, why are you here awake?" Iris asked not turning to look back at him. "I was going to ask you the same thing, and you're not even nocturnal so I have a good excuse!" Braden replied as he sat down next to her. "Let me guess," Iris started. "Couldn't sleep?" he finished with a smirk. Then they both sighed. "Dammit,and I'm used to not getting a lot of sleep!" Braden muttered. Iris rolled her eyes, "slut." He gave her a glare, "not like that moron." Iris scoffed, "I'm just pointing out the obvious dipstick!" He growled but then the two fell silent. "Hey, what's a wiccan?" she asked. He blinked, " where did you hear that?" "That wizard, he called me that, what is a wiccan?" she repeated. He bit his lip, then sighed, "another time, it's really complicated, and I don't think you're in the mood for any more trauma." Then she fell silent. Wiccan... why does that sound familiar?
"How's Bralyn?" Iris asked. "You tell me, you're the one who sleeps in the same room, why?" Iris sighed then Braden got it and pushed his bangs with the heel of his palm, "aw f*** not again! Look don't feel guilty about this, none of it was your fault.""Two of Bralyn's best friends betrayed her to get to me, and you're telling me that it's somehow not my fault!" Iris pointed out. "They were traitors before we knew them! They would have killed us before anyways, that was the original plan of the traitors before they found out about you," Braden retorted. "But Bralyn had to-" "Bralyn can take care of herself, she knew she had to choose between those two or you, you should be glad she chose you,"but he saw thather guilt filled expression didn't falter and he sighed. "Oh come on, you don't have to shoulder everything. It's not like you wanted to be targeted by the traitors, if anything I should be the guilty one, it's more my fault then yours, hands down," he told more to himself then her, but that caused her to stare at him and raise a brow. "How is it your fault?" "If I never signed that stupid contract, the traitors would've never found you at my house, and you could be living in Dreamland at home," he sighed. They were quiet, and then Iris looked at the stars. "You know my mom once told me, that the stars were the oldest tools on telling people's fates. But that's all stars could do, even the crystal ball and stuff, they can just tell, not control fate. I think it was fate that led me to offer myself, and to save Lena, and fate that led you to agree to it, and it is fate that has all this happening." After some silence, Braden pfft and began laughing. "WHAT'S SO DAMN FUNNY YOU PRICK!" Then he laughed, "It is fate that has all this happening, ohhhh so deep!" Iris attacked him.
Braden just laughed the whole way and he easily got her off, and when she was about the tackle him again he flicked the bridge of her nose. "Look I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, it's just so deep and true, I guess I really couldn't help but laugh at the irony, I'm getting life advice by someone not even older then me when I was human four centuries ago." Iris retracted herself, "yea right, pansy." "Bitch." "Queer." "Dumbass." "Candy ass wuss." "Weak slutty whore." "Goddammit! You're nothing like Colton," Iris cried exasperated and fell back so she lied on the roof and looked up. That stinged, but he held it in, and looked up at the stars.
"Colton, he's a really good guy you know, I'm sure you'll be happy with him," Braden told with a forced smirk. Iris jerked up, "damn, is it that obvious?" He flicked the bridge of her nose again, "no shit. It's written all over your face." She rubbed her nose, "you don't have to flick me, jerk." He chuckled and then turned to face the night sky. "I think it's good Colton found someone. He never showed particular intrest in anyone in the two centuries I've known him. Did you know he's the purest one of us?" She looked at him strangely, "really? even more then Bralyn?" Braden closed his eyes, "even Bralyn has taken innocent life. But Colton, he never killed a single mortal, even when he was first turned. I remember, I was walking around and heard someone growling, then I saw him, a newly turned vampire. I couldn't care less at the time, but the thing that caught my eye was apparently two experienced vampires, killed by him, and some slashed up little girl, probably killed by the other vampires,but he wouldn't drink her blood. It was taking everything he had not to drink any of her blood, and that surprised me. So I left and brought back some witch I found, but he refused, he wouldn't take the life of another person he said. So I, annoyed at that point, brought him a deer, and he devoured it. We became friends after, and still Colton doesn't kill unless needed, and he still doesn't drink from mortals,he goes out of his way to steal blood bags from the human world blood banks." Iris smiled to herself. He's such a good guy.
"Yea he really is, he's the best friend a guy can ever ask for, he deserves happiness," Braden's eyes saddened. Then Iris smiled, and they saw a streak of light, "HOLY HELL LOOK! SHOOTING STARS! MAKE A WISH, HURRY DILLHOLE!" and she closed her eyes. I want to be happy with Colton. Braden smiled as he made his wish. "What'd you wish for?" Iris scoffed, "like I'd tell." He rolled his eyes, "just asking, I could always read your mind." But she gave him a death glare and he chuckled.They watched the stars shoot in the sky, and after some time, he looked over to see she had fallen asleep. He picked her up carefully and disappeared to reappear before her bed, and he placed her in gently. He pressed his forehead against hers. Be happy.
"They sure look like a sweet couple," Danae commented as they all sat in the room watching Iris talking some nonsense to Colton who smiled and ruffled her hair, out the sliding door. Braden chomped on another Hot Cheeto. "I leave for a bit, and Colton and Iris hook up," Larissa said, almost happily, passing a glance at Braden. Braden ate more Cheetos. "It's good Colt finally found someone," he commented. Bralyn raised a brow, "yea, it is." Mitch and Daaron then began to sneak their hands into Braden's bag, but Braden thumped their hands with his fist. "Oh come on, share leader!" Mitch pleaded. "Yea! Those all go to your hips you know!" Daaron added. "When I become a girl, I'll be sure to keep that in mind, dumbf***s." Danae sighed, "you know it's good Iris finally has someone too. I mean the last love she had, well it didn't go so well." Braden almost choked. "Last love?" The vampires gathered around the banished witch.
"Well yes, Iris had a crush on a wizard back in Witch Territory. I remember, when she had stayed her she had talked of him constantly. A boy with firey red hair and cool green eyes, what was his name? Oh right Cain," Danae remembered. Braden choked this time. "Cain, one of the wizard leaders!" "Yea that's right. I do admit, he is good looking, but a very short tempered man... much like yourself actually Braden, but he did something I can't imagine you ever doing though." "Which was?" Bralyn pressed. "Well you see, Lena Belle, after the death of her mother was considered probably the most powerful witch in the whole country. Not only that, she was unbelievably beautiful, it was only natural that Cain fell for her. Of course many men also were infatuated with her, but she loved her little sisterso much, and she paid no heed to the suitors. That's when Cain noticed that Iris was the key, and he knew, against his better judgement, that the way to get to Lena, was through the freak of the land." "That sick son of a bitch," Chance muttered bitterly in rememberance. Larissa then turned her head away in shame. "So he became fast friends with Iris,but Iris didn't know, she had no clue he was only using her. So she continued to think he would fall for her. But he would talk about Lena the most, always ask stuff about her. Then the war happened, and Iris lost her chance to be with him when she had to stay here. But when she heard her mother died, she had to go to the funeral. Then she saw Cain kissing Lena.The two saw her, but Iris just froze. That's when she admitted she had loved Cain. He then had to tell her, that it was Lena he loved, and he could never love some kid. Of course Iris was shattered, and never really loved again, when she came back here she was always in a daze," Danae continued."But she got over it, accepting it.Plus Lena who wasn't too pleased, broke it off with Cain, but Iris knew Lena secretly loved Cain so she helped Cain win her again, and they got engaged, and now Iris has Colton. Plus, even if Cain would never love her more then a sister,I think he really did like her."Everyone was silent. Braden clenched his fist. She was rejected by the man she first loved. Cain? Heh... she named the cat,me, after him. Probably to humor herself into thinking about the love that could've been.
Then Colton came in carrying Iris. "She fell asleep."Danae smiled, "she must be tired, go down and put her in her room Colton." He nodded and headed down the stairs. "Danae-" Bralyn started softly. "No, don't talk about,it's all in the past alright?" They all nodded. But as everyone filed out, Braden and Larissa lingered a little bit. "Braden, listen-" Larissa had started. "Save it, I already figured." "Figured?" "That you were using Bralyn to get to me, but I kept quiet because Bralyn seemed to like you. Who would've thought you'd be the loyal one." Then Larissa sighed in relief. Good he doesn't know. Then Braden smirked, "oh you mean how Iris had to help you make me date you? Is that what I don't know?" Larissa just flustered and turned her heel. "I have to go." Braden rolled his eyes. I will never understand women.
Colton laid Iris down gently on her bed, and looked at her peaceful face. He hesitated and then resolved, he leaned in closer, his lips almost touching hers and he ran his hand through her hair, catching her iris. Then it hit him hard, his memories.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A boy walked out into the light, he had brown hair and grey eyes. "Now Cedar, you remember what we told you," a gorgeous woman with grey eyes and black hair reminded.
Was that me? When I was alive?
"Yes mother, you've just told me 3,000 times," he rolled his eyes. "You know how she is, she likes to explore so don't let her run off, alright?" a man with brown hair and purple eyes laughed. "Yea, yea, you think I wouldn't know, she runs around my room every second, "Big brother get up! Big brother look what I can do! Big brother!" He smiled. Then a little girl with black hair came out, with a familiar iris in her hair. "That's because all you ever do is just sleep or climb in trees. Wiccans are supposed to go and help people! Right mother?" the tiny tot tugged her mom's skirt. She laughed, "yes, but it's also our jobs to stay close to nature." Then the boy grabbed his little sister and carried her. "Which is what I'm going to do Iris, teach youhow to be close to nature, like all wiccans, little sister."
Wiccan really did exist, and I was one too! Now I remember. Iris was my little sister! That's why it felt so nice and familiar to be with her, why I loved her before I even knew her and knew I had to protect her.
"Wait Cedar," then his mother went and took Iris's flower from her hair. "Mother!" Iris whined. "No dear, remember, all wiccans attach their very being to a piece of nature, so this iris is basically your life. If your body dies it can still be reborn, but if this is gone, well so are you." Alive Colton laughed and kissed her forehead, "it's alright, I'll go show you mine in the forest, kay?" She squealed, she loved seeing her brother's "heart." And he began to walk, "you take care of her, alright Cedar!" their parents called. "I know!"
He set Iris down. "Look at it." She stood in awe before a huge, but beautiful cedar tree. It's leaves were a brillant gold. "Wow it's yellow, that means your happy right?" she asked cheerily. He smiled and placed a hand on her head. "Good, you remembered the colors. Our "hearts" or so we call the plants we bind our soul too, changes color according to your mood." Iris smiled happily and placed her little hand on it. Cedar smiled warmly and placed his huge hand over hers. "Can you feel it pulsing?" she nodded.
I remember that tree, I've dreamt about it before. But in my dreams... it's black.
"Now, I told mom and dad I'd teach you about listening to nature, but I know you already know about it, so why don't we just sit her and enjoy it," and she agreed immediately. Then she scurried off to talk with a bunch of lillies she had passed by, and Cedar just leaned against his heart and relaxed. "Iris, come over here," he called. Iris waved good bye and plopped down, eagerly snuggling against her huge brother. "What is it, Cedar?" she asked. "You need to know the duties of us wiccans. First and foremost, we are to do everything in our power to save lives. Second we must respect all living things, especially that of nature. Third, we are to never kill under any circumstance, understand?" She nodded. "We were put on this earth to balance out the growing evil, and so it is our duty to remain pure. You're lucky, since white magic came to you so easily." She giggled in agreement. "Why are you telling me all this brother?" He shrugged, "in case me or our parents are no longer around, you need to know and abide by the code." She nodded, "I will, I swear." He smiled, "good."
The Wiccan Code, that's right never to kill... that's why I couldn't take away the lives of innocent, even though I was tainted as a vampire, I couldn't fully break the code.
"Well what do we have here? How sweet a brother taking his little sister out?" a group of men stepped out. A vampire. "What do you want vampires? Are you hurt?" Cedar asked. "No, not really, just bored." Cedar got up and pulled Iris behind him. "Then go find something to entertain yourself." The vampire smirked and looked up at the sky, "you wiccans sure like it bright." "Then leave before you die fromt it," Cedar persisted. "No, I don't think I will." Iris trembled as she held onto the leg of her brother. "Iris, run, get out of here," Cedar whispered. "But what about you?" "Don't worry, vampire's can't drink our blood, go!" Iris nodded and ran. "Oh no you don't little lady," the vampire called and disappeared and pouncing on the girl. "IRIS!" he yelled.Iris screamed, "CEDAR!" they had begun to tear her apart. But he couldn't move, fear shook his very being. "CEDAR PLEASE HELP ME!" Then he snapped out of his fear and tackled one of the vampires. "Damn, this one is strong!" one complained. Then one bit him in the neck, only to cry in pain. "You idiot! Don't you remember? Their blood is blessed!"Cedar cried in pain too but then saw Iris on the floor dead. He lost all sense, and as the leaves of his cedar tree swirled to red, he grabbed a sharp branch, he stabbed the vampire that bit him and threw him against his heart. The others went after him, but in desperation, he cut his own hand and thrusted his hand into the mouth of the nearest vampire.They both went down and Cedar forced him to drink the blessed blood. The vampire struggled, but was weakening and screamed as he felt his insides burn, then he was no more. The other vampires realized this wiccan wasn't afraid of breaking the code and they ran.
Cedar looked at his hands and saw his blood and the vampire, he got off. "Oh my God, I broke the code!" Then he remembered."Iris?" Cedar inched towards her, trying to heal her, but he knew she was dead. He then cried, "THIS IS MY FAULT! IF I HADN'T HESITATED! SHE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE! I WAS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT HER!" Then he cried more, but felt something, something dark. He then crumbled to the ground as his body shook, "now what's going on!" He looked from the ground to see the vampire with the wound in his heart, spilling blood on the ground and into his cedar tree, his heart, his life."NO! I'M BECOMING A VAMPIRE!" he stared in horror as his tree swirled to black, which equaled death. He looked back at Iris in his final moments as a wiccan and realized she had no iris. "That's right, you can still be reborn. You'll still live. I'm sorry, I failed to protect you in your first life, Iris. I hope we can meet again, little sister," and then his hair swirled to black. He was the first wiccan, ever to break the code, ever to be turned into a vampire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Colton backed away and dropped the iris and held his face. NO! I'M THE REASON WHY SHE DIED, BECAUSE I COULDN'T PROTECT HER FROM ALL THOSE VAMPIRES! BECAUSE I WAS A COWARD! Iris turned over lightly. No! Never again, I will never allow any vampire to hurt her again, not even myself.
He rushed out of the room, pushing past Bralyn. "Hey Colton are you alright?" but he disappeared. "What's up with him?" she wondered as she entered the room. She smiled seeing Iris sleeping, but then saw her iris on the ground. Weird, Iris would never be so careless with this. Hmmm... Bralyn shrugged and placed the Iris on the nightstand next to Iris. Then she patted Iris's head and left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iris yawned as she entered the ground floor from the basement. Then she saw Colton sitting on the couch, and she immediately smiled. "Hey," she greeted as she walked towards him. "Hi," he said softly. "Sorry about falling asleep on you, I woke up the other night and didn't get much sleep," she explained. "It's alright," but he wouldn't look her in the eye. "Where is everybody? Normally they're all congregated here," Iris mused. He shrugged, "I don't know, I don't keep tabs on them." Iris could sense that he felt awkward. "Hey are you okay?" "Yea, I'm fine, you shouldn't concern yourself with my well being," he stated. She blinked, "well of course I should."
Colton stood up and went for the door, when Iris grabbed his wrist. "What's wrong you don't look so well?" she said and reached for his face, but he turned it aside and took out his wrist. "Why won't you look at me," she questioned. "Look just forget it, I'm just not feeling myself alright, everything is happening too quickly," he informed. "What ever's wrong with me, I'll fix it myself, that's how it's always been, me looking after myself," he bit his lower lip. Then Iris wrapped her arms around him. "You suck at cooking, how can you call that taking care of yourself!" He bit harder, "why do you have to care so much?" She glared up at him, "you know too damn well, it's because I love you!" she yelled, then blushed. "Because you've always protected me, and always cared for me, so I don't know why you're being like this, but I love you, so it's my job to care!" and she wrapped her arms around him tighter. He hesitated, then wrapped his arms around her too.
"CEDAR PLEASE HELP ME!" NO, NOT AGAIN!
Colton then pushed her away abruptly. "Colton?" "No." "What?" "You're not supposed to love a vampire," he stated. "Well whose fault is that," she retorted. "I'm not joking, you don't get anything do you?" he exclaimed. "Why are you being such an ass!" she said. "BECAUSE I DON'T LOVE YOU, AND COULD NEVER LOVE SOME FREAKLIKE YOU, GOT IT!" Iris felt her heart rip in two, just like with Cain. "Being with vampires will only cause you, and us trouble, you should stop living in Sunnyville and see all the pain you're causing!" Her heart ripped in four. "It would've been better if you never met any of us." Her heart was thrown on the floor. "Better if we never met," her heart was trampled. He looked in shock to see her iris swirl into a sad blue. Then she turned her heel and sprinted out the door at top speed. She never looked back, and she resolved never to come back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone went upstairs. Danae looked out the glass, "that's strange, I didn't forsee rain, and it was just fine a while ago." "Probably because the world is cryingoutfor us, now that we have to live with the She-devil," Mitch told and Larissa slapped him. "Who are you calling she-devil, you perverted prick!"Daaron laughed at Mitch, who gave him a hit on the head too. Bralyn rolled her eyes, "stop being idiots will you guys?" Daaron stopped and saluted. They entered the room and saw Colton in the middle of the room, a gloomy look on his face.
"Hey Colt! What's up?" Daaron greeted. Colton didn't answer. "Jesus, you don't look so well man," Mitch observed. While the others were asking him about how he was, Larissa looked around. "Hey where's Iris?" Colton flinched. Then Braden looked at the open door and immediately grabbed Colton by the collar. "What did you do!" Colton glared at him, "it's better this way, you have no idea what happened! Nothing good will come from her staying around us!" Braden growled. Then Bralyn remembered the iris on the floor and him hurrying out the room. "Colton, you got your memories back didn't you?" Bralyn gasped. He looked pained. "When you found me Den, that little girl... THAT WAS IRIS! She was slaughtered by a group of vampires, and I was turned!" Braden's eyes widened. "That means-" "Iris was my sister, and I let her get killed!" "Where is she?" Danae asked calmly. "She told me she loved me, but I didn't want her to get hurt by vampires so I told her I could never love her, and she ran away." There was crack as Braden's fist made impact with Colton's cheek. Colton went flying into the table, breaking it. "WHAT THE HELL BRADEN!" everyone yelled. Then Braden towered over Colton who sat up rubbing his cheek. "You promised you would never hurt her, but you hurt her the worse. Don't you know this happened before!" he growled. Colton looked over at Danae. "Iris had confessed before, but was only used and rejected." Colton looked surprised, then back at Braden. "YOU SAID YOU WOULD PROTECT HER!YOU F***ING LIAR!" he hollered, then he ran out the door into the pouring rain to find her. Bralyn was about to follow, but Danae stopped. "No, right now, I think the only one who can get through to her is Braden."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAMMIT! WHERE DID SHE GO! THIS DAMN RAIN! I CAN'T FIND HER SCENT ANYWHERE!
Braden scanned the streets as he entered the town. Then he ran over to a random old couple. "Did you see a girl with black hair and an iris in her hair?" they looked at him a little strangely seeing him, an attractive boy,just stand in the rain, no rain coat, umbrella, or even an attempt to find shelter. "Yes, she ran past here about twenty minutes ago down that direction," they pointed. He immediately sprinted off at top vampiric speed, everything was blur as he sped by. Where! Iris where are you!
Then his advanced ears heard a familiar voice, and that voice was crying. Braden stopped in front of the town park and ran past the trees and he saw her standing in the middle of the park holding her face. He walked towards her cautiously and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Iris?" she immediately swiped at him and he backed up. "What! Did you come here to tell me to go away too! Well if all I cause is pain, I'm leaving, happy!" "Stop being stupid! Come on!" he growled and reached out again. "GET BENT!" she screamed. "Not until I bring you home!" he yelled. Then she launched a punch at him, and he narrowly dodged it, but he didn't see the hard kick she threw into his gut. He flipped back but held his stomach painfully,then she attacked again with more punches. "NO! Just leave me alone!" and she kneed him. He cursed in pain but dodged narrowly another kick. She's serious! "Iris you need to stop!"he blocked her kick, but then she punched him, and he spat blood. "I told you already, GO AWAY!" and she slammed her elbow into him. "Why are you doing this! Come on! Let's go!" then she tried to punch him again, but he caught her wrist. She punched him hard with her other hand, but he gripped that too.
"LET ME GO!" she cried. "NO! NOT UNTIL YOU STOP BEING DRAMATIC AND COME HOME!" he hollered back. "You don't understand! I'm so sick and tired of always being rejected by everyone! Everyone I ever loved, they all rejected me, EVEN MY OWN MOTHER! My heart can't take this any more!" he stood speechless. Then she raised her head to glare at him."You have no idea how much I wish I wasn't like this! But like everyone else!So than maybe... MAYBE I WON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS! Why! I should've wished on that goddamn star that I wasn't stupid! OR THAT LENA AND MOM WOULD'VE JUST LET ME DIE!" she cried out.
Then it happened so quickly. Braden had pressed his lips against hers out of nowhere. Her eyes were wide in surprise.
I love you, just the way you are!
