Part 1

Two cloaked figures quietly sneaked in the bedroom of the prince. Ever so slowly the first cloaked figure removed her hood, revealing a beautiful young face. She ran a hand through her long black hair. Her green eyes sparkled in the darkness as she fixed her tunic, pants, and sword. The other figure went to the prince’s bed and pulled the drapes away. Placing his hand upon prince Caspain’s mouth, her awakened quite startled but as he noticed it was Doctor Cornelius and his good friend Kira who were in the room, he relaxed.

“Five more minutes.” Caspian pleaded, wanting to go back to sleep.

“I’m afraid you won’t be watching any stars tonight.” Cornelius said, ushering Kira to his side.

“Hello my prince.” She said softly but hurriedly.

Kira heaved Caspian out of the bed and followed Cornelius into a wardrobe. Caspian was confused as ever.

“Professor, what is going on?” he asked.

Kira hesitated. “Caspian, you’re aunt has given birth to a son.” She searched his eyes, wondering if he understood what this meant. Caspian nodded.

As they stood in the wardrobe, Caspian gazed outside a small crack that he had left in it. Glozelle and his men came in, surrounding Caspian’s bed and position their arrows. They took fire and Caspian had felt that he had been shot in the heart. So this is what it had come to... The men stopped once they saw that the bed was empty. Kira pulled Caspian back and the three raced down a winding stairway. Soon enough, Caspian found a sword, proper clothing, and then got on his horse. Kira jumped on as well and from the way she held on to Caspian’s waist, he knew that she was in warrior mode.

“Bring him to the woods.” Cornelius said to Kira. “You of all people know them well.”

Kira nodded, her face was set and strong. However, Caspian was confused.

“They won’t follow us there.” Kira said answering the question in his mind.

Cornelius handed a wrapped object to Caspian. Kira eyed it suspiciously, the shape seemed quite familiar. She watched as Caspian tied it to his belt, and then he looked back at his professor, whom he had grown to love.

“It took me many years to find that item. Do not use it, except at your greatest need.”

Kira’s eyes opened wider. She had heard those words once before. She was about to speak but Caspian spoke instead.

“Will I ever see you again?” he asked his professor.

“I dearly hope so, my prince. There is so much I meant to tell you.” He paused, “Everything you know is about to change.”

How dramatic, even for this situation, Kira thought.

A noise made them all alert, and after Cornelius ushered them to be gone, Caspian kicked his horse and rode away. Kira held tight to them as her cape and hair blew in the wind. They rode first through the courtyard where Caspian knocked over a soldier. Thinking that this wasn’t the time to laugh, Kira just stared ahead of them. Once they crossed the bridge, they both turned back for a moment and watched fireworks light up the night sky, and heard a Telmarine praise the new born son.

“Caspian!” Kira exclaimed.

Caspian looked back and saw Telmarine soldiers following Caspian. Riding even faster did they travel across the plains. Spotting the woods, Kira pointed and Caspian lead his horse into it. As they were crossing the river, Kira looked back.

“These men don’t give-argghhhh!” she yelled, almost falling off.

Caspian took quick looks back and then front. “What happened?”

“I’ve been shot.” Kira murmured grasping Caspian’s side even harder then before. “Caspian, the arrows...poison...”

“Shit.” Caspian snapped, kicking the sides of his horse again. “Hold on Kira.”

She groaned, the pain was spreading and her vision was becoming blurry. No, she thought, I can’t pass out on him. Not at a time like this. Farther into the woods they went, Kira becoming weaker and weaker. Caspian turned around for a moment, to check on her. Becoming far more worried he looked forward and saw a branch. However, it was too late and he bashed into it, making himself and Kira fly backwards. Kira’s head landed on a rock, and she groaned, passing out. Caspian sat up quickly and held Kira to his chest. He looks around, praying to the heavens that some one would help him. Suddenly, a door in the tree in front of him opens. Two very small men stepped out and noticed Caspian.

“He has seen us!” the meaner looking one said.

The other little man drew his sword and ran toward Caspian. However, once he spotted the horn that had came out of its package when Caspian fell, he stopped. Then his eyes traveled to Kira and they opened wider, Caspian didn’t understand why. Suddenly both Caspian and the little men heard hooves and they looked over to see Telmarine soldiers approaching. Looking back at his friend, he spoke.

“Take care of them!” he shouted.

The little man rushed towards the Telmarines with his sword. Quickly, Caspian grabbed his horn...

“No!”

...and blew. Suddenly, it was darkness.

Caspian awoke very slowly, his head extremely heavy. He looked to his side and saw Kira in another bed, her head bandaged like his, covers on top of her, and she was breathing heavily. Caspian got up slowly and went to the side of the small room, listening quietly to two voices.

“This bread is so stale, Trufflehunter.” Said a hard voice.

“I’ll just get them some soup then...” said a kinder voice.

“I thought you said you were going to get rid of him.”

“No, I said I’d take care of him.”

“Well, I don’t think I hit him hard enough.”

“Nikabrik, he’s just a boy!”

“He is a Telmarine, not some lost puppy!”

“We can’t kill him now, not after bandaging his head. It would be like murdering a guest.”

“How do you think his friends are treating their guest?”

“Trumpkin knew what he was doing.”

“What worries me even more is what he was doing with Kira. I mean, after all, him and her...they are two opposities.”

Caspian made a swift movement for his armor near the door, making Trufflehunter drop the bowl of soup. The little man, Nikabrik, stood in Caspian’s way. Looking at his surroundings, Caspian pulled a hot poker from the fire and started blocking Nikabrik’s blows.

“Don’t you see?” Nikabrik shouted. “I told you we should have killed him!”

“You know why we can’t!” Trufflehunter shouted back.

“If we’re taking a vote, I’m with him.” Caspian said making a motion with his head.

“We can’t let him go! He has seen us!” Nikabrik shouted, swinging his sword some more but Caspian, far stronger, blocked them easily.

“That’s enough, Nikabrik! Or do I have to sit on your head agin?” Trufflehunter snapped.

It was at this Nikabrik stopped. Caspian was confused still, but did not speak yet.

“Now look what you made me do!” Trufflehunter exclaimed. “I spent half the morning on that soup.”

“Wh-what are you?” Caspian asked, realizing soon after how lame his question sounded.

“Funny. You’d think more people would recognize a badger when they saw one.”

“No, I mean...you’re Narnians. You’re supposed to be extinct.”

“Sorry to disappoint you.” Nikabrik said, returning to your seat. After a moment, he raised his eyebrow. “Don’t you know who that girl is?”

Caspian pointed to Kira in the other room. “Kira? Why yes, she is my best friend.”

“Youre a bit dense, aren’t you? She defeated the white witch along side the kings and queens of Narnia!”

“Nikabrik!” snapped Trufflehunter. “Maybe she didn’t tell him for a reason!”

“It’s all right.” Said a soft voice.

All three turned their heads and saw Kira. Instantly, Caspian’s mouth dropped open and his heart skipped a beat. Kira was standing there, her pants on, but no top. Instead she had bandages that were wrapped around her breasts, which was where she was hit, showing off her stomach. Nikabrik grinned.

“Would you like a bucket for your drool?” Nikabrik asked.

Kira frowned at the dwarf. Caspian, who was blushing harshely, cleared his throat. “I was not drooling...” he muttered.

“Kira, excuse Nikabrik, if you did not intend to tell this boy...” Trufflehunter said nervously.

Kira held her hand to silence the badger. “ There is something I have been hiding from you...” she said gazing into Caspian's eyes.

Caspian didn’t say anything. He made Kira continue. “I am a Narnian.” She said quietly.

“W-what?”
