The Last Snow [A GazettE story]
Chapter 11 : The Last Snow [A GazettE story] Part 11
Eeeh... Lazy days, lazy days...
PART 11: Interesting Days
“It wasn’t so bad, was it?” Kai asked as they were walking down the golden halls. “Ugh... It was ok, I guess,” Eva flipped her hair. “No, it’s never ok! It’s so boring!” Ruki complained. “Weren’t you the one who was asleep until it was your turn?” Kai asked while showing off his dimples. “Whatever! I mean, it’s just fun doing the lives! Not all the crap of designing, interviews, traveling, signing-sessions, photo-shootings, PV-shootings... By the way: When are we shooting the PV?” Ruki turned towards Kai once again. “Well, we’ll fly to America next week if the outfits are done,” Kai said. “America? Are we shooting the PV there?” Eva frowned. “Yeah, we’ll be shooting at the country-side.” Kai confirmed. “Oh... Cool,” Eva commented.
Outside the building Ruki turned back towards the others. “So... What are you guys planning on doing for the rest of the day?” he asked looking at them. “I don’t know. Go home and cook something for myself,” Kai shrugged his shoulders as if he really didn’t care at the moment. “What about you, Eva?” Ruki focused now on the female. She looked at the sky for a moment, but in her mind she really didn’t care. “Probably go home and sleep,” she said after a while. “Oh... Boring... Hey! We still haven’t seen your new aparment!” Ruki pointed an accusing finger at Eva. Eva could hear her alarms turn on while some firemen tried to get water from some lake to a fire within her brain, but to Ruki and Kai she seemed pretty bored. “So..?” she said after a while, trying to sound as bored and tired as possible. “So?! Are you like stupid or something? Kai has already told us how nice your apartment is. We’d all like to see it!” Ruki said. “But you’ve already heard from Kai. Besides I’m tired. I want to sleep. But first I’ll have to drop by the grocery store. Fuck..,” Eva turned her gaze to the sky once again. “But we want to see anyway! Right, Kai?” Ruki forced Kai in the argument. Kai looked from Ruki to Eva who now had turned to look at Kai. “I am a bit curious..,” Kai admitted slowly, but that obviously was enough to Ruki. “See? Come on, Eve! Give us the address!” Ruki commanded. Eva sighed. She truly was tired, and she did have to make a small trip to the grocery store. “Maybe some other time. I am truly tired, Ruki. Sorry,” she apologized. Ruki pouted. “You got away this time, but one day, ONE DAY, I WILL discover your true secrets!” Ruki pointed a finger at her once again, making it seem like she was hiding a criminal. “Ok. See you later,” Eva said as she turned away from them and simply walked away.
The weeks were filled with avoidance and excuses for Eva, but she survived. Mostly the complaints were from Ruki, but he was easy to get bored no matter how stubborn he was told he was. He had even threatened to follow after Eva until she got home, but he only followed her to the park which was 20 blocks away from her apartment. He had got bored and wandered off. It was then Eva had jumped into a taxi.
A taxi... Yes, that was were she was now. She was on her way to the airport. The guys were probably already there, but her being so sleepy, she forgot to put her alarm on. It was really Kai who had woken her up by calling her. He said he always did that when they were on the way since most of the guys seemed to need help with the wake up-part.
Sometime during a red light, her eyelids had become to heavy for her to bear. The faint sound of a random song on the radio became her sweet lullaby. She did not hear the little news-report on the music channel about the mysterious young female that had been seen around with the GazettE lately. She didn’t hear when Filth In The Beauty started playing in the car. All she could hear were some waves of a shore in a distant land and the seagulls mocking her sleep.
“Miss! We’re here,” the driver called her back to reality. Slowly her eyes opened and realized that the driver was not lying. People were walking in and out from the airport while some people were waiting for taxi’s and some were just about to walk into the buss.
But she was one of those who were walking in and that made her pay the driver and jump out of the taxi. She grabbed her bag and walked in. The airport seemed so huge, yet so small considering all the people rushing back and forth. It also made a bit hard for her trying to spot her bandmates. Actually, she didn’t spot them at all. It was Uruha who was rushing through the crowd and grabbed her arm. “We’re over here,” he said and dragged her along before she even reached to say ‘oh’.
“There they are!” Ruki pointed out Uruha and Eva as they were coming towards the others. They were standing in the line to get their luggage checked in. “You were almost late!” Kai began as she got in the line with the others. “Yeah, almost,” Eva repeated. “You got to remember that we’re not waiting for you!” Kai sure wasn’t happy. “Yeah, right... Not waiting for me,” she repeated once again, making Kai more annoyed. “She’s like Uruha, following her own pace,” Aoi laughed. “I’m so proud,” Uruha pretended to cry of joy while Eva just looked at him, kind of disgusted. “Ok, I promise I’ll have my alarm on next time,” she said. Uruha now pretended to be offended. Even Kai had to smile as Uruha hit Eva behind her head. “Hey!” “You were the one insulting me!” “Well, who wants to be you?” Another hit. “Asshole.”
But as they realized that the planes were late the mood once again fell a little. They all were sitting by their gate, patiently waiting for the gate to open. No one spoke. Ruki was even asleep. How he could sleep in such uncomfortable seat, Eva couldn’t understand. Her own back was hurt and her ass felt sore. She was pretty sure that the others felt the same way, considering how they changed positions all the time. In the end she couldn’t take it anymore. “I need chocolate,” was all she said as she got up and walked to the little shop. She hadn’t even noticed that Reita had also rosen from his seat and was following her. It wasn’t until she was standing by the shelves of chocolate before she noticed him. “Oh, hi, Reita,” she said, not moving her gaze from the chocolates. “What brings you here?” “Just needed to move. My ass hurts,” she could hear Reita say next to her. “So you thought you’d bother me instead of having your ass more hurt?” Eva said. “Yeah, I thought it might be a good idea,” Reita joked. “Well, you’ll pay for the chocolate, then,” Eva said. “Eh?” “It costs to bother me.” “Since when?” “Since I needed a chocolate.” Reita sighed.
They slowly made their way back to the others, chatting about the smallest of things. Eva’s mood was once again lifted. It was nice talking to Reita again. They had never talked so much to each other. Maybe it was because they really didn’t have much to say to each other? Eva never knew why, but it just seemed more comfortable to keep the silence between them. It was kind of strange. It would be weird to be silent with Uruha or Aoi, but with Reita it just seemed natural. ‘Must be his aura or something...’
It didn’t take long before they could finally get into their plane. Eva was amazed. She had never flown first class before. There wasn’t many there so it was pretty silent. The seats were so comfortable that Eva would almost have one instead of her bed. But she was a bit unlucky. Of course, she got a window-seat, but the one next to her had to be Aoi.
“Hi!” the now-hyper Aoi said to Eva. She sighed in annoyance. “There are many seats here and you choose to bug me?” “Yeah, isn’t that cute?” Aoi gave a little squeal. Eva rolled her eyes before she turned her attention to the window. “Just ignore him and he’ll go away,” she heard Reita say in front of her. “Ok, thanks, Reita,” she replied. “Uh! You’re not supposed to help her! And here I was ready to torture her through the whole ride!” Aoi complained to Reita who was right in front of Eva. “Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Reita mumbled, but it was enough for Aoi to hear. “Don’t you ‘whatever’ me!” and with that Aoi sat down next to Reita.
Without a word, Ruki sat down next to Eva. He soon brought his feet up and closed his eyes. That made her sigh in relief.
Without realizing she had closed her eyes herself. Slowly dozing off to sleep. But it really didn’t last that long, or it felt like it didn’t last that long. Soon she heard some talking next to her. The voices were still unclear, and a bit distant, but it was enough for her to wake up. Slowly she opened her eyes and tried to focus on her sight. At first it was a bit blurry, but soon it became clearer. She could see Ruki was leaning forward, talking to Aoi. Wait... it didn’t sound like Aoi.
Eva sat up a little and tried to focus on the voice again, but before she could clear out who it was, Ruki turned to her again. “Oh, did I wake you?” he asked, guilt written on his face. Eva just nodded. “Sorry,” he apologized. “But I couldn’t sleep either when Aoi and Kai absolutely had to change seats.” ‘Oh, so it was Kai.’ “Whatever,” Eva managed to mumble. Kai popped his head over the seat. “Hello!” he smiled and gave a little wave. “Hi,” Eva replied tired. “I just wondered if you wanted to write a diary-entry to our official diary? It could be fun. People would get a small taste of who you could be yet give them a huge headache,” Kai said with a smile. “Uuhm... Why would I want to write in the diary?” Eva asked. “Don’t know. Could be fun.” “But wouldn’t they kind of know who I am if I wrote there? I mean, I can’t write in Japanese, so I’d have to write in English. Besides, I don’t have anything to say.” “You can just say what you’d like to enter the diary with to me! I’ll write it down! And you could sign yourself as ‘the new member’ or something!” Eva turned silent. “I really don’t have anything to say...” “It’s ok! You could just say some random stuff. We always do that!” Kai gave another smile. Eva rolled her eyes for a moment. “Sure, I don’t have anything better to do.” “Great! Ruki, we’ll switch seats!”
Ruki growled a bit, but got up from his seat. Soon there was a Kai sitting there instead. He had already found himself a pen and a rough book so he could write down every single word Eva was about to say. “Ok! Shoot!” he said. “Ok...”
Eva went silent for a moment. What could she say to thousands of people she didn’t know? The question flew through her mind as she stared through the window at the sea of clouds. ‘Ok... Random’
