*Flashbacks of episode 18 “Much ‘I Do’ about Anything*
“So that’s it then? It’s just ‘have a good summer, I’ll see you back at school’?” Serena said teary-eyed, her voice cracking.
“I guess. Yeah.” Dan replied without emotion, leaving his now ex-girlfriend crushed.
“So you said you loved her. That’s uh…never heard you say that before. About anyone.” Nate told Chuck who let a small smirk appear on his face.
“Let’s take it slow. Do it right.” Chuck whispered in her ear as he lead her on the dance floor.
“Chuck Bass is a romantic. Who knew?” Blair said in a confused manner.
“Now, you do. That‘s all that matters.” he replied trying to lure her in as she followed in pursuit.
“I love you, Lily.” he told her, mesmerized by her in her wedding dress.
“I love you too, Rufus.” she said feeling a bit sorry but continued on to complete her wedding day.
“Come labor day you’ll be so sick of me.” Dan told his best friend who didn’t believe what he said.
“It’s been thirteen years and I’m still not sick of you.” Vanessa assured him.
“Hey, if you ever want to reflect, alone, together, I'll be around.” Serena kindly offered.
“What are you up to now?” Nate asked, taking the chance.
“I got in! With… Eleanor Waldorf Designs.” Jenny said to Rufus over her phone, utterly in disbelief.
~theme music from show~ “And who am I? That’s not a secret I’ll never tell. You know you love me. X.O.X.O. -Gossip Girl.”
“So, Tuscany? Special occasion?” Ben, the young man she met on the helipad asked.
“Not really. Just spending the summer with my boyfriend.” Blair Waldorf said, taking her jump seat in the chopper. She secretly smiled as she said boyfriend.
“Boyfriend? Wait… Chuck Bass is your boyfriend?” he rose his eyebrow, taking his seat in the seat behind her and the pilot.
“You sound surprised.” the brunette tried not to let her smile escape her lips.
“I know his father. I have a hint of what he’s like. Besides, I‘ve heard a lot about him.”
“Maybe he’s not the same person. Maybe he‘s changed.” she said confidently, contemplating back to the previous week in her mind.
“I highly doubt that.” Ben grinned at her innocence.
“But maybe I like him the way he is.” she said testing his response.
Ben gave a low laugh. “You like the terrifying sex appeal?” he used the same word to describe his father. Terrifying.
Blair shrugged making her hair fall back over her shoulders. “That’s what makes him Chuck Bass.” she mentally rolled her eyes at Chuck’s quote. I’m Chuck Bass.
“I see. So you’re going to wait for him at a hotel I hope?”
“I may or may not ring him when I land.” she said crudely.
“Trying to be independent, eh?” he said in a joking approach.
“Well I wouldn’t want to appear clingy now would I?” Blair huffed remembering a familiar chat before hand, about a week before Georgina Sparks came back from hell to pay them all a visit.
“No, you wouldn’t.” he smiled in agreement. “Maybe you should’ve waited for him at least. Don’t you think?”
“Little hint, Ben. I don’t wait on no one.” she said clearly in a matter-of-fact tone.
“Okay, then.” he nodded slowly.

Chuck Bass collapsed on his bed, rumpled sheets covering him. His massive headache was due to his guilt, he suspected.
“Um… I should go. Lily might wonder where I went off to.” Amelia spoke. Her blonde hair that was once a neat side ponytail a few minutes earlier was an untidy mess now.
Chuck stayed silent wondering why he had just done that with her when he should’ve been with Blair in a helicopter right about now.
“I’ll call you?” the words formed a question not a statement for once.
The young woman slipped back into her thigh-length royal blue dress by Robin.
“Don’t bother.” Chuck’s voice was low and strained as if he had no control over his voice anymore. Let alone himself.
“What?” she said flustered putting on her gold Sigerson Morrison gladiator heels and picking up her cream colored Faboo bag from Foley Corinna.
She looked confused but quickly yet purposely noisily clattered out of his suite. On her way to the elevator, Amelia didn’t take notice of the bystander taking a photo on a maroon colored enV2. The picture showed her leaving the room of Mr. Bass’ heir looking like she had just ran a mile. Seconds later the picture message was sent by an unknown source to: tips@gossipgirl.net

“So what are you not reflecting on?” Nate asked Serena as they sipped their Frappuccinos, continuing their stroll around Manhattan.
“Dan.” the seventeen year old “it” girl replied. “And my new step-dad.” she groaned.
“Oh, yeah.” Nate laughed.
“It’s not funny.” Serena said playfully shoving her best friend’s ex-boyfriend.
“Sorry.” he apologized, wiping his dirty blonde hair away from his eyes.
“And you?” she asked, trying to put a skip in her step in order to keep up with his quick pace.
“Uh… Vanessa.” he said rather broody.
“Ooh. Yeah, Chuck brought that up.”
“And my parents.” he added.
“I can’t believe they left.” Serena said in apologetically.
“Yeah. Whatever. Let’s face it, my dad was never a good parent figure.” Nate said desolately.
Serena didn’t know how to reply so she just switched the subject.
“So what did Chuck tell you? Blair is ecstatic.” she lightened up.
Nate smiled. His best friend and his ex-girlfriend. Who would’ve thought?
“Um… Chuck seems happy but he’s trying to learn from Bart and figure out how to hide his emotions. If he has any.” he grinned.
Serena laughed her “four year old” laugh. “Tell me about it. It’s so quiet at dinner. You wouldn’t believe how awkward it is.”
“So The Hamptons for summer?” Nate asked as they came to another intersection.
“Yeah. I haven’t been there since freshman year for Blair’s fancy ‘back to school bash’ do you remember?”
“How do you forget?” he smirked, recalling the fond memories of him and his friends.
“True.” she said in correspondence.
“Do you think it’d be weird if we were seen together?” Nate said carefully.
“We’re just friends who are hanging out together.” Serena said shrugging.
“What if we were dating?”
Serena stopped walking. “Uh- what we did in the past…” she began he voice trailing off.
“I still have feelings for you.” his blue eyes gazing into her own as he slipped out his secret.

“How about we start painting now?” Vanessa asked, paint brush in hand.
“Erm… why don’t we go out for a bit and paint later?” Dan suggested.
“Go out?” Vanessa asked suspiciously.
“For coffee or a movie. If you want.” Dan said in his nervous suppressed voice.
“Sounds good, Humphrey.” the dark curly haired teen agreed.
“Cab or walk?” he inquired, getting his wallet from a table nearby.
“Since when did you take a cab?” she accused, a smile appearing.
“Since I went on a date.” Dan looked away remembering his ride with Jenny and Serena, when they left Blair’s “Kiss On the Lips” party.
“Really? Wow. I can go for a walk though.” she settled, putting away the paint brush.
“Ok, let me get my jacket.” he said.
“Um… Dan?”
“Yeah?” he slipped on his jacket.
“Is this ok? Us together?” she inquired.
“I don’t know about you but I’m single.” he tried to sound sarcastic but failed.
“Well apparently I am too.” she sighed.
“So is this fine? Us hanging out?” he tried to clear everything up.
“Oh.” Vanessa’s voice faded away.
Dan looked at her, “What?”
“I thought that since you’re over Serena… we could give it a shot. Like when I first came back?” she asked unsure of the idea herself.
Dan looked at her, he only remained standing still.

“Hello?” a male answered his black Razr.
“Hi, Rufus.” Lily Van Der Bass greeted.
“How was your honeymoon?” Dan’s rock star father asked.
“Exhilarating.” the mother of Serena answered with a small sigh.
“Oh? Did you think about me?” the Lincoln Hawk lead singer asked with a smile.
“Hardly.” she replied with a small smile.
Rufus laughed. “Good to know.”
“Where are you? I hear people.” she accused skeptically.
“Tour bus with the band and The Breeders.” he answered, staring out the window.
“Oh, yes. I remember now.”
“How’s your husband?” he asked.
“Fine, actually. Believe it or not; he has to go on a business trip this weekend.”
“Ah. Alone with the kids. How nice.”
“Eric, maybe. Charles left for Italy and Serena’s gone to The Hamptons.” she said
“Hamptons?” he asked.
“It’s summer. The kids go vacationing.”
“Yeah. I sent Jenny to her mother’s.”
“And your son?” she thought of her daughter’s now ex-boyfriend, whom she now became fond of.
“Is redecorating the gallery with his friend Vanessa while I’m away.”
“I see. Well, I’ll be here. I thought I’d let you know.” she said disappointedly.
“How about I let you know where the show is at?” he tricked, strumming over his guitar.
“What are you saying, Rufus?” the blonde mother asked curiously, smiling over her gold Alias.
“Jump a plane and meet me.”

Jenny Humphrey re-read her letter for the fifth time. Eleanor Waldorf. She couldn’t believe her life-long dream was in the hands of her arch-enemy’s mother.
On the bottom of the page was a contact number. Jenny pulled out her pink Razr and dialed the number.
“Yes, thank you for calling Eleanor Waldorf Designs. How may I help you?” a female answered rather quickly.
“Um, hi. I’m Jenny Humphrey and I want to make sure I’m enrolled for the summer internship.” the fifteen year old blonde said nervously.
“Humphrey?” she asked, typing up her last name.
“Yes.”
Clicks were heard on the opposite end of the line. “Yes, you’re enrolled. You even have a recommendation posted.”
“Really?” she said in disbelief. “Oh, ok. Thank you.”
“Was the information included? The pamphlet and such?” the woman asked.
“Yes it’s here.” Jenny grabbed the envelope.
“Ok, just fill that all out and mail it in.”
“Alright. Thank you.” she flipped her phone, ending the call.
“Jenny?” a female voice called out.
“Yeah, Mom?” she called back.
Alison appeared at her doorway. “So do you want to tell me why your dad said to ground you all summer?”
Jenny clutched her cell phone, fearfully.
