Stick looked at the gate one last time. Could she really leave her home? Stick pushed the thought to the back of her mind, and headed towards the lake. After the first ten paw steps, Stick looked back to see her mother watching her at the gate. How could Stick turn back now? It would be completely embarrassing! Once again, the cream she-cat walked forward. And to her surprise, Stick saw an old gray she-cat sitting on a rock.

“Hello youngster! Welcome to the Clan territory. You must be Berry.”

“My name is Stick! And how did you know my name?”

“Please child! I’m not blind yet! I can see your Twoleg collar from here!” on a lighter tone, the she-cat meowed, “I’m Yellowfang. I’m here to help you get to your new home.”
