The weekend passed by fairly slow, thanks to the recent events that happened. I managed to find Lucy a school, all thanks to Seto suggesting she go to the same private school Mokuba went to, Rose Michael private school.
Speaking of Mokuba, Lucy and Mokuba got along well on Saturday; he even managed to get her mind off the death of her parents, which was a breath of relief for both Jenna and I.
Monday thankfully rolled around. I felt relieved that I handle most of the drama in the past two days and I could safely go to school without having to worry too much about Lucy's emotional and mental health.
"Hey Marisa!" Matt's mellow voice rung in my ears surprising me –I wasn't expecting anyone this early at school- so naturally I hit my head on my locker door. How I managed it I don't know.
"Ow," I heard a snicker behind me, only to reveal Seto walking to his locker. Which conveniently, were two lockers from mine. "Yeah?" I asked curiously.
"What happened? I came to your house at seven, but then your maid said that you weren't there," he grumbled slightly embarrassed that Seto was there and he was talking about how I stood him up.
My hand flew to my mouth as it dropped, I had been so caught up with shopping for things for Lucy and Jack that I forgot that I had a date with Matt on Saturday. I suddenly felt guilty about the whole situation not only did I stand him up but I wasn't the one to tell him that I couldn't come.
"I'm so sorry! I totally forgot, my cousins came to my house on short notice because of personal issues and I had to go shopping for things for them," I rambled trying to keep Saturday's events as vague as possible.
Matt put out his hands in defense as I continued to ramble, "hey, it's ok I know you're a busy person. I hope that you find sometime for me in your schedule," he said in a slightly mocking tone and left without a goodbye.
I stared at his retreating form dumbfounded, I couldn't believe he was acting like a jerk, I mean one minute he was sweet and nice and next he's acting like a jerk for not believing that I had Lucy and Jack at home.
"What an asshole," I said angrily and slammed by poor innocent locker shut. Then my blackberry rang; I knew it was Carmen seeing as my blackberry was for business and I had just got it and gave my number to Carmen. "Yeah?"
"Ms. Keyomoto, Mr. Kashimo insists that you meet him today at four or else," she said sadly.
"What! He can't just make threats, just because he's some stuck up old man doesn't mean he can just demand to see me. And besides I'm going through some... personal issues," I yelled angrily at my phone.
"I'm sorry Ms. Keyomoto there's nothing I can do," she said sympathetically.
"Whatever," I said and hung up. I banged my head on my locker out of frustration. I didn't know what to do; Lucy and Jack needed me, but this partnership with Mr. Kashimo's company could be the biggest deal my father's ever waited for.
"You know, I wouldn't make that partnership with Kashimo if I were you," a cold voice said disrupting my thoughts. I looked over to Seto who was leaning on his locker.
"And why not?" I asked skeptically; I put my hands on my waste in a demanding way.
"And this is one of my rivals? Please, the only reason Kashimo's been pressuring you to meet with him is because he's losing his company, and he doesn't want people to know. That and your company is one of the top five in Japan. If you make an alliance with one of the four, you can easily bring him down," he explained nonchalantly. "He needs one of the five to help him keep his company and since Fukui, Ito, Ueda and I won't partner with him he decides to partner with the new comer, you,"
"So your saying just because I'm new to this, I'm naive?" I asked again.
"Maybe," he smirked and walked passed me, leaving me to my thoughts.
-----
"Hey Carmen, is Mr. Kashimo here yet?" I asked out of breath and heaving. My uniform was now all wrinkled and messy.
"Not yet, so hurry up and change before he does come!" Carmen ordered and pointed to my office.
"Alright, alright," I said and went into my office. I rushed into the bathroom of my office and there I found my clothes, which I had laid out the day before knowing that I wouldn't have enough time to change.
I looked at myself in the bathroom, fixing myself until I was at least satisfied with my appearance. I wore a plain white button up striped blouse, with a red bow tied at the collar and beige knee high pencil skirt.
Just as I sat down on my chair and turned on my laptop the intercom beside my phone spoke with Carmen's voice coming from it.
"Ms. Keyomoto, Mr. Kashimo's here to see you,"
I pressed the intercom's button and spoke, "Please send him in."
Right after I had given permission to Carmen to let Mr. Kashimo in, he came in sauntering cockily as he held a bold smirk on him. He wore a dark blue pinstripe suit, a white blouse and red tie.
Jurou Kashima, long before my father died owned one of the most powerful companies in all on Asia. My father, before he died, tried making an alliance with him for a very long time, but he died before he could. Once finding out from Seto that Mr. Kashimo's company had started to lose its power over the years I had become less interested in making any business alliances with him. With the years of Keyomoto industries being as active as it was before my father died and me studying in L.A.'s most prestigious school, I wasn't informed of his company losing its power when I took over Keyo.
"Mr. Kashimo I thank you for your time, please sit down," I said politely motioning for him to sit down
"I have no time for formalities and politeness," he said rudely and walked up to my desk and placed roughly his briefcase on my desk and opened it. "Here is the contract we had agreed upon when we had spoken a month ago," he said and roughly handed me the contract.
"I'm sorry Mr. Kashimo but there is some change of plans," I said a politely as I could but at that moment I wanted nothing more that to call the guards and throw him out of my office.
"Ms. Keyomoto, I am a busy man and I have no time for foolery, so sign this or else I will take my business somewhere else,"
"Well then Mr. Kashimo please take your business somewhere else because I am no longer interested in doing any business of any sort with you," I said calmly and at the same time sternly.
He looked at me with anger and glared viciously. He took the contract from my hand and stuffed into his briefcase. He made his way haughtily toward the door but before he left he spoke.
"Ms. Keyomoto I hope you know what you're doing because you're going to regret this," he said and left the office with a bang.
I sat back down on my chair, just realizing that I was holding my breath. I still couldn't believe that I was taking advice from Seto Kaiba himself, know I just hope I wouldn't regret my decision.![JararuKomayaka[1].jpg](http://www.quizilla.com/user_images/M/MI/MIS/MISSANGELPIE101/1215179867_7310_full.jpeg)
