Xena The Fairy (1)

"That's why we're going to see the queen." Mommette chuckled. She then drew two long fingers togeher, put them to her mouth, and whistled.

For a momnt, nothing happened. Then, a butterfly with wings that looked identical to Mommette's flew down to the girls, and landed on Mommette's shoulder.

"This is Pierre, my companion." Mommette stroked the butterfly's wings passionately.

"I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground........" Xena repeated over and over again as she soared through the air with Mommette and Celestine. She was gripping Celestine's hand, and hanging towards the ground. She still didn't know how to fly.

"Quiet, Xena! We're almost there." Celestine finally griped. "And loosen your grip on my arm. You're cutting off my blood circulation."

"She is just a human, after all. Go easy on her." Mommette said dreamily, flying beside Celestine.

"No. She's a fairy."

"Well, she was a human until recently. She's probably scared out of her mind."

"HEY! MOMMETTE! CELESTINE!!!" A voice suddenly called out. Xena, who was too scared to open her eyes, started whispering, "I'm on the ground." again. She heard a wooshing of wings, and almost opened her eyes to see what was going on.

"Hey, guys! Who's that?" A male voice suddenly asked.

"This is Xena. She just turned into a fairy. But you'll never guess what..... She used to be a human!" Celestine giggled.

"You're kidding!!!!" the voice rang out.

"No. She really was a human. I was doing that mission that Queen Aminia assigned me..... You know, collecting butterflies to bring back to the Magic Realm? Well, anyways, I was following this butterfly when it's wings changed color, and I knew it was going to choose an imp to morph with. So, I followed it. And then, I saw it kissing a human! She got it's wings and now the butterfly follows her around. She's a fairy, all right!...... Hey, Xena...... Open your eyes and say hello to Comet!"

"I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground I'm on the ground........"

"What's up with her?" Comet's voice rang out again.

"She's afraid of heights. Wait, let's land....." Xena suddenly felt herself dive again, and before she was ready, she had stumbled on the soft grassy ground and opened her eyes.

They had landed in a meadow full of multi-colored flowers and huge, shady trees. Pixies were soaring around and relaxing in the flower petals.

Xena, her heart beating at an alarming rate, collapsed on her knees and sat in the midst of the flowers, breathing heavily.

"I'll...... NEVER..... Fly...... AGAIN......" she wheezed.

"Of course you will, Xena. Anyways...... This is Comet, and his butterfly, Viper." Celestine floated in the air and smiled around at Comet.

Xena looked at him too, and had to hold her breath to keep from gasping. The most handsome boy she had ever seen in her life was smiing at her. He stuck his hand out, waiting to shake with Xena.

She slowly got up off the ground, and shook hands with him, taking in every single one of his features. He had a boyish face, and red, flaming hair. His large, laughing eyes were sparkling, and his wings were white and angelic, like Celestine's.

A butterfly with identical wings drifted onto his shoulder, and seemed to look up at Xena. She assumed this was Viper.

"So, where are you goin' with a human?" Comet turned toward Celestine, a smile on his face.

"The Fairy Queen's. She needs to see this. I don't think a human has ever turned into a fairy before." Celestine replied promptly. Mommette and Pierre were sitting on a tree branch, watching the conversation. Blaze was resting on Xena's head, Luna was hovering above Celestine, and Viper was still on Comet's shoulder.

"Can I come? I'm really bored and have nothing to do." Comet yawned. A couple of pixies flew by, curtsied at the fairies, and soared off, giggling.

"Sure. Alright then....... Come on Xena. Time to go." Celestine held out her hand.

"WHAT?!? No way! Dude! NO FREAKIN' WAY! NOT AGAIN!" Xena screamed, backing away.

Before she was even aware of what happened, she was being picked up in Comet's arms. "I'll fly with her. No offense, Celestine, but you really aren't sympathetic in the least."

Xena, wishing she had a camera to capture this wonderful moment in her life, just allowed herself to be carried around by Comet. Celestine huffed, and grumbled out, "Fine...."

Mommette chuckled and leapt down from her tree branch, Pierre obediently following. The fairies all jumped into the air, Xena still in Comet's arms, and they flew off.

It's much less frightening to be carried instead of holding on for dear life...... Xena thought gleefullly, enjoying the ride. The small group of fairies flew for what seemed like an hour until a beautiful castle soon came into view.

It was suspened in mid air, and seemed to be planted on a cloud. There were many turrents and bright colors. It looked like something out of a dream.

I have wings, I'm being carried by a boy, and I'm in some sort of fairy tale land..... I gotta be dreaming....... Xena thought weakly.

As the small group soared toward the gates, many fairies stopped in mid air to look at them. Xena heard a couple whisper, "Who's that girl in Comet's arms?"

The group, Celestine in the lead and Mommette taking up the rear, landed on the hard marble floor inside the castle.

"This place...... Is amazing!!!" Xena said in awe, staring around her.

"It's where the queen lives." Comet chuckled, setting her on her feet.

"Thanks for the ride."

"Anytime."

"If you two are done, we have to see the queen!" Celestine said impatiently, tapping her foot. Mommette was hovering in the air beside Pierre, Luna was on Celestine's shoulder, Viper was flying around the room, and Blaze was still on Xena's head.

"Which way to the throne room?" Comet looked around at Celestine.

"Follow mmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!" she hopped up into the air, and flew threw a door and out of the room.

"She can never wait, can she?" Mommette sighed, flying after her.

Comet looked confused for a moment, grumbled something under his breath, scooped up Xena in his arms, and soared after the two other girls. Xena had to look down to make sure Comet couldn't see her blushing.

Comet and Xena flew down the hallway and into another room, where they saw Mommette and Celestine standing by a huge door. Comet flew over, and put Xena back on her feet.

"This is the throne room?" Mommette looked up at the huge doors.

"Yep." Celestine replied proudly, as if she had made the doors herself.

"Certainly looks royal, don't it?" Comet put his hands in his pockets and looked up at the doors.

"How do we get in? Do we knock?" Xena asked unsurly.

"No. We just wait out here, and if the door opens, then that means the queen wants to see us. If it doesn't, that basically means we should scram." Celestine put her hands on her hips and shook out some of her white hair. Her white angelic wings fluttered behind her, as if stretching out.

"So..... We just wait?" Xena frowned.

"Yep."
