01. Frustration.
Chapter 2 : 02. The Visitor.
As Jamie leaned forward to dig in her bag for a book, something small caught her eye. A mouse, she reasoned, scurried under the bench. She leaned forward a bit to see if she could spot the rodent again, but it was gone.
"Whatcha lookin' at?" A small voice said near her ear. Jamie jerked around to see who had spoken but saw no one. She crinkled her forehead.
"I really am going crazy." She thought out loud.
"Who are you talking to?" Jamie's mother said from the car. She looked confused and disappointed in Jamie.
"No one," Jamie grabbed her bag. "Let's just go." Jamie got in the car and didn't speak the entire way home. No matter how hard Jamie's mother tried to talk about what had happened, Jamie would ignore her. Her mother just wasn't worth her time.
~*~*~
After dinner that night, Jamie sat in her room and wrote in her journal. Sometimes that book was the only thing that kept her sane. It had always been there for her. Never abandoned her or critisized her for being herself. She could tell it anything and it never told her secrets.
When she felt that she had written enough to calm her jittery nerves, she placed the book back under her mattress adn grabbed her iPod. While the gentle music lulled her to sleep, a pair of large green eyes stared at Jamie from the corner. They darted around the room, looked at something in the window and disappeared.

"Are you sure?"
"I'm positive. It was definitely her. What do we do?"
"We wait. Keep watching her. You'll know when it's time."
