The ride home was fairly quite with the exception of Evie's giggles while Matt played with her. The guys kept shooting Matt and I smiles and it was beginning to confuse me. But I brushed it off as nothing. My nerves began to get the best of me as the familiarity of the neighborhood we were in hit me. I was almost home and I had never wanted to avoid it so badly in my life. Oh how I would have loved for the guys to take me to my mother's, but I had to sort this out. I had to calm things down and pray that Chad would understand. My stomach did somersaults as Jay's van pulled into my driveway. I took a deep breath before smiling at the guys. Matt handed me back Evie and all the guys decided to get out after I did. They all one by one gave me a hug, Matt lingering the longest to say goodbye to Evie.

"If you need anything, you call Jay and one of us will be here as soon as possible. Okay?" he spoke softly, his gaze breaking away from mine and locking on something behind me. I could see the flames dancing in his eyes and knew that Chad was out front.

"I'll let you know. Thank you guys for everything, but please don't start anything." I pleaded. Matt gave me a quizzical look before he stepped away from me and towards Chad.

"Hi. You must be Chad, Sarah's husband. I'm Matt Tuck." he introduced himself while holding his hand out for Chad to take. Chad hesitantly took his hand, but he brightened just the tiniest bit as Matt showed he was no misfit. The guys all followed suit and Chad soon had a smile on his face. However, when he looked at me, that smile had a glint of something else in it. 'God, please protect us.' I pleaded silently, still holding Evie.

"Gentlemen, it was very nice meeting you. I apologize for my ignorance earlier, I'm just looking out for my wife and daughter. There are so many sick individuals out there. Surely you understand? Especially with one of you having a daughter of your own." he spoke kindly now. I could tell the guys were caught off guard, but I however, could see right through it.

"Yes sir, it's very understandable. We'll be off now, but it was nice to meet you," spoke Jay, trying his hardest to be polite to my husband. The guys all shot me a concerned look, but I just smiled.

"By guys. Thanks for the coffee. We'll have to get together again so that Evie and Abigail can play together again." I wouldn't tell Chad that Jay had dropped his daughter off at home with his girlfriend before we'd gone for coffee. He'd crap a mound of bricks.

"Sure thing. Take care, Sarah. Bye Evie!" they all cooed before heading towards the van. Chad came over and stood by my side, waving the guys off before grasping me rather harshly on the shoulder and leading me into the house.

We had all noticed the panic that streaked across Sarah's face as we pulled into her driveway. No doubt she was terrified, but she quickly tried to cover it with a smile. I reluctantly handed her back Evie and we all got out to walk her to the door and say goodbye. I stood nearly a foot taller than her as I looked down at her. She smiled faintly at me before her grasp tightened on Evie.

"If you need anything, you call Jay and one of us will be here as soon as possible. Okay?" I kept my voice soft in case her husband stepped outside. She didn't get a chance to answer before a blond haired gentleman stepped out of the front door. His dirty blond hair was parted over to one side and a dark blue sweater was wrapped around his shoulders. He was tall in stature and anyone could tell he was one snobbish son of a bitch. I tried to hide the fire that was no doubt burning in my eyes, but I wanted nothing more than to hang this guy by his sweater. I took my gaze off him and put it back on Sarah as she spoke. 'God, she's so beautiful.' I thought. Evie no doubt got her looks from her.

"I'll let you know. Thank you guys for everything, but please don't start anything." She pleaded; her sapphire blues eyes piercing mine. I gave her a quizzical look before stepping around her and towards Chad. I extended my hand towards him before introducing myself.

"Hi. You must be Chad, Sarah's husband. I'm Matt Tuck." I had to grit my teeth to keep from mouthing off something vile to him. He hesitated for a moment, but took my hand in his. A watched as a smile crossed his face. I tried to hide the puzzlement I was feeling. 'This guy is up to something.' I thought to myself.

After all the guys introduced themselves, Chad seemed pretty satisfied that we weren't misfits. However, I didn't miss the look he gave Sarah. A glint of something in his eye, telling her she was in for it. We made some small talk, then we all said goodbye to Evie and Sarah. As we got in the van, I saw Chad walk over to Sarah, waving us off before placing a hand on her shoulder. I also didn't miss the force he was using when grabbing onto her. No doubt he was hurting her. We could all only hope she was going to be okay. What would we do if anything happened to her and Evie because she was out with us? It would crush the other guys, as well as myself. We could only hope that he went easy on her. My stomach churned the entire ride home. 'God, please protect them.' I pleaded.

-Sarah's P.O.V.-

Once the guys were out of sight, Chad's hand moved from my shoulder to roughly grabbing the back of my neck before he proceeded to near drag me and Evie into the house. Chad flung me into the living room before slamming the front door shut.

"Chad?" I managed to squeak out, but was immediately met with a stinging sensation on my cheek. I stared at him in disbelief as he stood there, seething. The anger radiated off of him and I was terrified at this point. I continued to clutch Evie, knowing that if I had her, he wouldn't try anything. Or at least I hoped.

"Put her down,” he growled. I looked at him quizzically before backing away, Evie still in my arms, only now she was beginning to tear up.

"I said put her down, Sarah!" he bellowed, his voice bouncing off the walls and reverberating in my ears.

Evie went into full wail mode by this time. I never even had time to react before a familiar stinging sensation met the same cheek, sending Evie and myself to the floor in a heap. Chad smiled as my shoulder slammed loudly against the floor in my attempt to protect Evie. I felt a searing pain shoot through my shoulder before I let out an ear-piercing scream. Chad covered his ears momentarily before charging at me again, lifting me straight off the floor by the shoulders, only to send me back to it once again.

The same shoulder cracked loudly against the floor and I knew then something was shattered. The pain was excruciating and all I could think of was Evie and if she was alright. Her screams pierced the air like sirens, causing Chad's anger to skyrocket. I had lost all energy to fight, so I decided to curl into a ball around Evie. He'd have to kill me first before he got to her. I felt a sharp kick to my back before everything went black. My last thought or plea? 'God, save me. Someone save me.'

A dream so far away, do I have the strength? To find inside the way and dream tomorrow's another day? Save me tonight. Help me find another way to light the darkness, I'm afraid. Save me tonight. Tomorrow's another day.
