"Sorry!"
"It's alright, here" said the boy, whogot up andstood, offering his hand to help you up.There was an awkward silence, because you were still on the ground, too occupiedby looking into his smiling, brown eyes to do anything else. He cleared his throat.
“Oh, right..." you said. You took his hand and slowlygot to your feet. You bent down to get your old gloves, that you had dropped when you'd bumped into him. You stand up again and smile, timidly.
“Uh, thank you..." You smile shyly.
Another awkward silence.
"Er, Skandar..." He said, holding out his hand for you to shake it.

"Uhh,{Your Name}, nice to meet you..." You said, shaking his hand.

“Nice name... Ummm, I have to ... uh go...” he said awkwardly, whilst rubbing the back of his neck and he scurried off to the other side of the room, muttering as he went. You couldn’t help but giggle quietly to yourself as he walked away. You went to sit down in one of the arm chairs near the warm, crackling fire. It was a cold, snowy night outside and you decided to take out your book and settle down near the cosy flames of the small fire. You began to read:

“She rode down the mountain, heart racing, mind swimming. The horse suddenly shied and reared up, she fell backwards and hit her head on one of the rocks...”

Mid-sentence, you froze, you felt as if someone was watching you. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Skandar, looking at you from across the room. He was standing with his parents, they were speaking to him, but he was obviously not taking any notice of them.
You looked up and smiled at him; he blushed and resumed talking to his parents. After managing to tear away from them, he went and sat across the other side of the fire. You were completely aware of his presence but pretended not to notice him. He picked up the poker and put it into the middle of the fire, and the embers began to glow brilliantly, you look up at him again, “What are you reading?” he asked, “Oh, nothing special...” You hold up the book and show him the cover.

“Looks like a good book” he said beaming. You couldn’t help but think how mysterious his smile was, how lighted his eyes were. “Uh, yes it is” you said, putting the book down on the chair next to you.

"So, are you staying here for Christmas?" Skandar asked.

"Well, my parents have to go to Australia for a few weeks, so yes, I guess I will be, and you? Are you staying for Christmas?" You ask.

"Yes, my parents have just come to celebrate Christmas early. They're going off to Nepalon Christmas Eve."

"But Christmas Eve isonly three days away!"

He nodded, “Yes, I know. It’s okay though, this camp is a nice place to stay at in the holidays.”

“Hmm... I suppose” You say sadly.

“Would you like to look around?”

“Sure!” You say, immediately brightening up at the chance to find out more about this boy. You both walk to the old wooden door. Skandar opens it, “After you” he gestures for you to go through. “Thank you” You say as you step into the cold, snowy night.

[That's as far as I've gotten right now, but I will write some more! If you have any suggestions, please let me know!]
