It tookus three days to arrive in Kohona, but we were finally here. This was the second time that I've been here. The first time was three years ago, for the chuunin exams (before Naruto's). The city was just as beautiful and busy as I remembered it. Maybe this was where I belong, a place that I could live in until I die. The people seemed nice, and it seemed like a place with lots of action.
“Well, I got to get going. See ya later.” Temari said and left.
“Well, I guess that leaves me to explore on my own.” I said to myself.
I started to walk around the village, and found a familiar place, it was the park. During the chuunin exams, I had spent most of my time here on the swings. Well, the time that I wasn’t busy with the exams. I walked over to one of the swings and started swinging.
“Vex…” It was Kaku, my demon. “It’s been a long time since we’ve talked.”
Even though he was the reason that I was hated in my village, he was my only friend. Over the years, we’ve come to an understanding. He wouldn’t take over unless I asked him too and I would make sure that I didn’t get myself killed.
“I know…” I said.
“I’m dying to come out and fight, you know that right?” He asked.
“Yeah…” I said.
“Do you want to know who I want to fight?” He asked.
“Not really, but tell me anyways.” I responded.
“That Kazekage, from the sand village.”
I gasped. “Why?!?”
“He also carries a kyuubi inside of him. The shukaku.”
I gasped again. “No, that can’t be…”
“It is true.”
“How could someone with a kyuubi inside of them become a kage?”
“I do not know, but I will leave you to think.”
So it was possible, for someone like me to do such great things. But in my case, it was impossible, I had run away, and I could never go back. I could never become a kage.
During the conversation in my head with Kaku, I had completely spaced out of the actual world. I was just sitting there, the swing had stopped moving and now, there was a man sitting on the swing beside me. Most of his face was covered, he wore sunglasses and his jacket was covering his mouth and most of his nose. He was staring at his arm that was in front of his face, and on his hand were a few ladybugs.
“You like bugs?” I asked.
“Yeah…” He responded not bothering to look at me.
“Can I see one of your ladybugs?” I asked.
“Sure… Just don’t hurt it…” He brought his hand over to mine and one of the bugs crawled onto my hand. “You’re not scared of bugs?” He asked.
“Nope, not at all. When I was younger, it seemed like bugs were the only things that didn’t hate me or weren’t scared of me…” I responded.
“Why would people be scared of you? Or hate you?” He asked.
“That’s kinda personal.” I said.
“Oh… By the way… I’m Aburame, Shino…” He said.
“I’m Akigawa, Vex.” I smiled at him.
“That’s un unusual name…”
“Why does everyone keep saying that?” I asked. Even though his mouth was covered, I could tell that he was smiling.
“Hey Shino!” A boy called. I turned around and saw a boy with red markings approaching us. Beside him was a huge dog that he could probably ride on and a girl with white eyes. Shino stood.
“What, you got a girlfriend Shino?” The boy asked when he got closer to us.
“No… This is Vex…” Shino said.
“I’m Kiba, and this is Akamaru.” He patted his dogs head.
“I-I’m Hinata…” The girl said softly.
I smiled. “Nice to meet you.”
Akamaru walked up to me and started sniffing me. He looked happy for a moment and then he tackeled me right off the swing.
“Akamaru, what are you doing!” Kiba yelled, trying to pull Akamaru off of me.
Akamaru barked and walked to his owners side.
“What?! No way!?” Kiba looked a bit surprised. “Akamaru said that Vex reminds him of Naruto!” Kiba said to Shino and Hinata.
Hinata blushed madly and Shino said, “wait… Isn’t he supposed to be coming home soon?”
“Who is Naruto?” I asked.
“I-I think s-so…” Hinata said.
“It’s been so quiet since he left…” Shino said.
“Did anyone hear me?!?” I asked somewhat annoyed.
“Oh… Sorry, what did you say?” Kiba asked.
“Who is Naruto?” I asked again.
“He’s a friend of ours, he’s been gone for two years and he’s supposed to be coming home soon.” Kiba responded.
“So, how long will you be staying here?” Hinata asked.
“I don’t know, forever… Hopefully… I want to move here…” I replied.
“Really?!? That’ll be so cool!” Kiba said.
“Maybe we should introduce you to some of our other friends and show you around…” Shino said.
“That would be nice.” Smiled at him.
And that’s when my life started again, in Kohona.
