Not Your Normal Nerd---Chapter 41---Annoyance
Chapter 55 : Not Your Normal Nerd---Chapter Six---Bee's Change--Shane's P.O.V
haha i worked on this one alot. Enjoy!
I had woken up late this morning, last night all I could think about were those eyes, her laugh, and the happiness of having a friend.
When I finally stumbled out of bed, my mom was gone, but she left a note. "Be back in three weeks! Love,Mom"
Thats great, thats perfect, i mumbled to myself. i dont need her anyways.
When I got on the bus I looked around for her then remembered she didn't get on the bus until later. One of my "guy pals" called me over, so I just shrugged and went to sit with him.
"Dude, whats hanging?" he asked stupidly. I groaned, I couldn't stand a whole day with this let alone a few minutes. "umm..nothing actually but i think one of my other friends wants to tell me somthing improtant" i lied.
"oh, great" he fake-smiled "see you around then."
I turned around "yah definitely" I lied.
God, I didn't even remember that kid's name. Whatever it was didn't matter though. I rushed to take the last seat open and saved the spot next to me.
When we neared her bus stop at least ten people got on. I looked for her and looked. Finally the doors closed without any sign of her I was about to yell out to the driver to stop. When someone plopped down to me. I looked towards the seat next to me confused.
Next to me was a girl with bangs and highlights, i didn't recongnize. I looked her over, confused as ever. When, I saw her eyes. I gasped in recognition.
Bee's Point of View
I woke up early morning. The first thought in my mind was that yesterday was a dream. I just couldn't make myself believe that I had gone to the trouble of doing any of that.
Then I saw myself in the mirror. I squealed and laughed. Happy as ever I skipped downstairs when I saw my mom. Then I stopped dead.
My mom had always been the kind who believed in not doing anything to "change" your body.
That included no makeup, eyebrow waxing, and highlights.
She turned toward me ready to say something when she stopped dead and went pale. "What did you do?" she said in a dreadful quiet voice.
I tried to play it cool. "don't you like it mom?"
"I will talk to you after school." she muttered
I quickly went back upstairs, changed into my new clothes, and bolted out the door.
When I got there everyone complimented me on my hair and eyes, I nodded, distracted for the moment.
Besides, I only really cared about a few people's opinions.
Finally, the bus got there, and I rushed inside. I saw him looking for me and went to sit next to him.
I plopped down and he looked over at me with a confused expression. Cmon I thought I've barely changed.
After a while he gasped when he looked into my eyes. "Bee is that you?" "yep" i said cheerfully
"You look different but the same." he said slowly. "I thought so too." I agreed.
"But I'm glad you ditched the glasses. They got in the way of your eyes." he joked.
"Oh, thanks." i said sarcastically.
"So...umm what brought on this sudden change?" he asked reluctantly.
"umm...to be honest...to be your friend I felt like I had to improve my own appearance to try to look, well not as bad." I whispered then I gulped, embarassed.
His eyes widened. " you did this...for me?!" he basically shouted.
"Keep your voice down!" i whispered looking around "and no I did it for myself too. I felt inferior and after facing the truth I tried to fix...it." i explained
"What do you mean...inferior?"he questioned curiousity in his eyes.
"Umm..do I have to tell you? I asked embarrased about the whole thing and for saying so much.
"yes." he said seriously
Here goes I said to myself.
I took a deep breath and just said it outright. "Girls are attracted to you." i said slowly.
"What's that mean!?" he demanded. After a few minutes, his face lit up "ohhh"he said smugly "you find me attractive?"
I scowled as he looked smug "Certainly not me!" i said as icily as I could.
He laughed and said "I didn't think so."
