As I walk to my desk I start wondering why anybody would just throw those books every where. I look at mywatch.7:30. No one usually comes this early. Oh well. I turn the last corner and see a guy standing behind my desk. No onegoes behind my desk. "What are you doing?" I ask angry. He jumps and looks at me like a deer in head-lights, but then a smirk appears on his verygorgeous lips. Did I just say gorgeous? Oh jeez... "Hey there Cutie. What are you doing up here all by yourself?" he says walking out from around the counter. He is, to say the least, hot. His jet black hair falls messily around his ice blue eyes and even thoughhe's wearing ablack button-downsilk shirt and black dress pants, you can tell he works out often. He looks to be about twenty-one or two.He looksfamiliar. Hmm... I raise my eyebrow. "I work here," I say and walk to my spot behind the desk, "Now what do you need?" He eyebrows furrow together in confusion. "You," he says pointing at me, "work here?" I roll my eyes. "Yes, and I would like to know why you were snooping behind MY desk." He chuckles. "I don't believe you work here. Librarians are suppose to old and unfashionable. You don't fit that stereotype at all," he says looking me up and down. Oh my God. Of all the people that come up here it has to be an incrediblyhotpervert. Lucky me! I pull out my ID card. "Proof enough? Now tell what you need. I don't want to call security." He smirks again. "Charlotte Ronnings... A very pretty name you have there Charlotte."A hot guy is hitting on me, wow...No! Think mean. I glare at him. "Ms. Ronnings will do, Mr..." "Oh, that's right! How rude of me. I am Julian Bain." He holds out his hand. Still being angry over the behind the desk thing, I just ignore it. "So, Mr. Bain, are you looking for a specific book or just a general topic?" He shakes his head and looks up at the ceiling. "You're just all business aren't you?" he says. "When Ineed to be,"I reply. There is a pause. He's so hot... No! No, Charlotte, focus!Think business, mean. But his eyes are so pretty... No! Gah! "Honestly," he says looking back at me, "I really don't need a book. I was in the American History Library and this oldjanitor told me to come up here and I'd like what I'd see." I grit my teeth. Jonesy, I'm gonna kill you. I sigh. "That still doesn't explain why you were snooping." He shrugs. "I thought he meant something behind there. I apologize. I shouldn't have snooped. Can we just start over?" I look him over. Come on Charlotte! Look at him! He's hitting on you and he's very pretty!Do it,do it! Plus he can scare Jace away! I finally give in. "Sure. I'm Charlotte," I say extending my hand. He flashes me a smile and shakes my hand. "Julian."
