To Love A Vampire [Chapter 1]
Chapter 4 : To Love A Vampire [Chapter 4] Argument
Sorry this is short. The next one might not get out for a while.
4. Argument "Hello, again," Matthew said. He was still clutching his fists, just like yesterday. "Hey. Are you okay?" I asked, looking at his fists. "Yeah. Sorry," he asnwered and relaxed his hands. "You're early." "Barely. I almost tripped five hundred times out there. A bunch of people shoved me too..." I trailed off. "That's funny." He laughed once without humor. Then, Mr. Tommy said that class would begin. I tried to pay attention. Really, I did. And I gave up after the third time Matthew whispered my name. When I finally looked at him, he had a flower made out of notebook paper in his hands. He gave it to me and smiled. I couldn't speak. His expression was too perfect. Actually, everything about him was perfect. His dark brown hair, his light grey-blue eyes....have those always been that color? I looked away, trying to reassemble my now cluttered thoughts. Matthew was quiet for the rest of the class. Then, the bell rang. I gathered my stuff, slowly, methodically. I could feel a pattern forming. That's when Matthew spoke to me again. "Will you sit with me at lunch today?" he asked, with a voice that sounded like it belonged to an angel. And once again, it took me a few moments to reassemble my thoughts, and finally speak. "Sure. Sounds good," I said. Then he looked away for an instant, releasing me from his intense, but somehow soft, gaze. He stared out in the hall with a serious look on his face. I thought he nodded once from what I saw from my prehiphial vision. "See you at lunch then," he said and walked out of the room. I watched him leave. How silly of me, but his moves were so lithe and graceful. I shook my head to clear it, and walked to my art class. I walked by an old room, from the looks of it. I think it was a storage room. But I could hear people arguing inside. So, being the curious girl I am, I looked inside. There were two guys, neither of them who I expected it would be. It was Matthew and his brother, Tyler. He was yelling at Matthew, but I couldn't hear exactly what he said. I only caught a little bit. "You can't just bring her into our lives like there's nothing wrong! She's different than us! Surely you see that!" Tyler yelled. "Tyler, I don't understand this feeling though. She's different, yes. Different than the rest of them," Matthew said calmly. "Yes, that's true. She is different in that way, but you should leave her alone!" Tyler argued. "I can't do that," Matthew said quietly, or that's what it sounded like. "Why not? How hard is it to leave a human person alone for just a few-" he stopped talking. Matthew stared at him. "I understand," Tyler finally said in defeat. "Just watch what you're doing," Tyler plead. "No promises," Matthew said and headed for the door. I hid behind the wall beside the door. Thankfully, Matthew was going in the other direction. Tyler followed him a moment later. I wonder what that was all about? Where they talking about me? My mind wouldn't stop asking questions. I rushed to art class, afraid I was already late.
Biology flashed by like a blur. Matthew wasn't in that class. But, he would be in World History. And I will get to sit next to him again. If it wasn't for Brittany, I wouldn't have known we had homework in Biology. I was in too much of a daze from what happened in homeroom to notice anything that followed. The bell rang, and I was out the door before anyone else. I almost ran to my locker; bad idea, considering I can't even walk without finding something to trip over. I'm supirised I didn't fall. However, I did bump into people a lot. Then, I walked over the treshold into World History class.
