Kiba, along with Akamaru, walked confidently into the room where all the examiners for the first test were waiting. I am so ready for this he thought. I’ve always wondered why they’ve never picked me to be a chunnin examiner. Everyone sat in the room talking, waiting for Ibiki to arrive. The first part of the exam was another one of his torturous tests. Kiba was excited for this one though. First off he wasn’t taking this one and second, all the examiners, in addition to watching everyone, get to mess with the genin with some carefully planned out antics. This will be awesome Kiba thought. Face it, it’s fun to mess with people. Kiba talked with all the people he had met and found that they were all just as excited as he was for this. Especially the part where they got to have some fun. Obviously why we all got chosen for this Kiba thought noticing many similarities. Ibiki finally showed up and they were all soon in the room with the genin. Many of the younger ones were nervous though some were boastfully sitting in their seats ready to take on the world. The older ones who had been through this before sat there quietly just wanting to pass and move on. Kiba listened as Ibiki gave his speech and soon the test started. The examiners watched, pencils scratching away on their clip boards, some doodling, some going all out on a picture, and all taking down a name here and there. Pretty soon though their fun began. There were many genjutsus, clones, and transformations. Everything designed to distract the genin and see how they react. Their reaction depended upon whether or not their name was taken down. After two hours were up about half the teams were left. None of them left as Ibiki gave his speech before the final question and they all proceeded to the second stage. Kiba said goodbye to everyone and left satisfied with the job he had done. “I can’t wait till tomorrow and the end of the second part of the exam,” Kiba said to Akamaru as he walked home. Akamaru barked his agreement. Kiba kind of wished he could have been in charge of part of the second exam. They had split it up, those in charge of the beginning and those in charge of the end. Either would be fun Kiba thought. But not as much fun as taking it. Like Kiba’s first chunnin exam this was set in a dangerous closed off area and it was filled with mazes. Each group would be given a scroll that matched up with a door. When they found that door it would let them in when they presented the scroll and they would be done. The mazes however moved around and to not run into someone would be rare. Running into other ninja groups would be an opportunity to take their scroll. The more scrolls you have the better chance of finding a door you can enter. “Too bad we never got a chance to take the test in that field Akamaru,” Kiba said, “I think it would have been the most exciting. Do you think they’d let us take it just for fun?” Somehow I doubt it. Too bad too. But we need to be prepared just in case. Remember our first exam? “Yeah missed all the fun. Damn Kabuto.” We’ll just have to find some other way to pass the time. Kiba smirked, “Like visit Mizuki. She’ll be here for a month since she’s not in charge till the third exam.” And you were worried that you’d never have time to hang out. Kiba just shrugged and walked into his house anticipating the coming month.
Mizuki sat in a room where all the jounin were gathered. They were anticipating the first group to be finishing the second exam any time now. Mizuki was glad that she knew most of the jounin leaders. She had a long time to wait before she got her turn and they were all willing to let her help out as much as she was allowed. Eight of their ten teams had made it to the second round. She knew most of them and was expecting them to make it through. She sighed as she drifted away from the conversation. She hadn’t seen Kiba since her second day and only talked to him when she got there. It’s only been a few days she chastised herself. Stop thinking about it. This is what she hated when she had a crush. The guy never left her thoughts, usually completely occupying them. She started petting Yami who was of course next to her. He looked up at Mizuki. Don’t worry you’ll see him again. You have a whole month. “How do you always know what I’m thinking?” It’s what you always think about when you like a guy. Mizuki laughed a little and then threw herself back in the conversation trying to convince herself that Yami was right.
