Recap:

“Good Morning!” A cheery voice sang loud and clear. I jumped, not hearing any footsteps to come face to face with…

Story:

I stared at the slim wavy haired blonde with stunning aqua-teal eyes, she looked around 5’4’’. [If she was a little taller she could be a model.] I thought, though 5’4” isn’t all that short I’m only two inches taller. “Hi I’m Tessa, you probably don’t remember me from the other day!” She said happily sticking out her hand. I stepped back automatically visibly flinching. She acted if she didn’t notice and waited as I hesitantly took her hand. She had a firm handshake with slightly cool hands. I felt a small smile creep onto my face.

Our hands dropped and my attention was drawn to the kitchen door when the door swung open and a skinny platinum haired buy stumbled gracefully. [Yes, gracefully! I didn’t even know it was possible for someone to stumble and be graceful about it! If I remembered right this was Gregory.]

“You remember Gregory? He’s my brother. Not exactly a morning person as you can tell.” Tessa said giggling melodiously. [Okay, something is definitely weird here. How can they be so gorgeous? I mean, okay, I’m a little jealous and a lot embarrassed to be in front of them at the moment. But mainly I’m curious, they must have some kick a$$ genes!] I shook off that petty thought refocusing on the kitchen. My eyes were itchy and uncomfortable. [Oh, shoot I never took out those contacts!] I thought rubbing my eyes.

“You alright?” Damien asked. I nodded.

“Yeah just something in my eye.” I said. Gregory grabbed some sort of drink from the fridge I couldn’t see clearly enough to tell what it was but I saw Tessa snatch it from his hand and toss it back into the fridge. Then she whispered something that didn’t look too friendly. Gregory turned still in a daze from not being completely awake. Then his eyes widened a little before readjusting.

“Good morning.” He said smoothly. I had to bite down hard not to let my jaw drop. Gregory’s voice was low and not could I hear the silkiness of his voice but I felt it as it wrapped around my ear. I was dazed. I snapped out of it a minute later when I realized I was staring.

“Uhm, so yeah, I’ll go and get the thing out of my eye.” I stammered fleeing from the kitchen. It was only afterwards that I realized that I had no idea where I was going. [Oh, great.] I turned on my heel but stopped. [Where’s the kitchen? Crap! Am I lost already? Okay, that’s a stupid question to ask myself. Of course I’m lost.] I inhaled a deep breath of air about to call for Damien. Knowing it was better to call while I was realitvely close to the kitchen. [I couldn’t have gotten that far in two minutes.] “D-”

“Lost?” I flipped around to see Damien standing there. I nodded blusing. “Don’t worry follow meeee!” Damien said taking large leaps ahead of me. I gave him a strange look. Damien turned around. “What?” he asked in that innocent voice of his. I merely shook my head trailing after him.

I collapsed onto the bed giggling my head off. [I can’t believe him! How can he be such a morning person?] I thought remembering how Damien made me skip with him arms linked all the way here. I sighed and quickly entered the bathroom. I flicked on the lights lighting up the marble. [So pretty.] I took out the contacts rinsed them carefully and set them down beside the sink for a moment. [Good thing today is Saturday, or I would be really late for school. School! What am I going to do?] I took a seat on the side of the marbled tub. Trying not to stare at my horrible reflection of messed up makeup and bed hair.

[Damien has a point. I’d be safe and it’s not like I have anything to lose. His parents even offered to help.] I sat in thought waiting for my eyes to calm down a bit. Feeling self-conscious I put the contacts back in.

I walked back downstairs –with the help of Damien of course- and took a set next to Tessa. Gregory looked like he was just waking up and Damien took a seat next to him.

“Oh, my parents will be flying in tonight so we can go to the cops tomorrow morning.” Damien said. I bit my lip but nodded. I knew it was the right thing to do but I kept having flashbacks of what happened five almost six months ago.

“It’ll be alright.” Tessa said. “Damien’s parents are real nice.”

I still just wanted to run away from everything, but I knew that I couldn’t do that. So I waited patiently throughout the day spending time with Damien and his cousins.

I was pretty sure that we had watched five movies, straight in a row with no breaks. It was now eight that night. [Well we wasted the day away!] thought stretching my arms. We had watched all of the Harry Potter movies, up to the Order of the Phoenix.

I noticed that Terra had small tear streaks down her face.

“Aren’t those just the best movies?” she asked me in a squeaky voice. [Don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan the wizards, but this is a little overboard for me.]

“Oh, yeah.” I answered with a smile. Gregory rolled his eyes and got up from the couch silently. He was by the door when he turned.

“You’re parents are here Damien.” He said. Damien looked up from the TV. He paused a second before nodding.

“You’re right.” He said getting up. Damien joined Gregory at the door. “Hey Annabelle stay here with Tessa I’ll be right back.” Damien said. I nodded.

“Sure.” I answered. Tessa turned to me with a devious grin on her face. I stared back at her. “What? Why are you looking at me like that?”

“So, how’s your life in the love section?” she asked in a fruity voice wiggling her eyebrows.

“My what?” Her question sent a blush upon my face. Distantly I tried not to think about Damien. [Damien and I are only friends.] I told myself. [Something tells me we can only be really good friends. I’m just not getting that more than friends vibe.]

“Your love life! Girly do I gotta spell it out!” She exclaimed, with a pause. “Okay, I’ll go first. I got this guy named Bo waitin’ back at – Transelvania-” as she said Transelvania she put on a perfect accent like the girl from Van Helsing. “- for me. He’s such a sweetie!” She exclaimed, reeling back on the couch. She seemed to drift off into her memories a bit before she leveled herself out.

“So. How about you?” Her smile was very unnerving. It made it really awkward to try and tell her that I don’t have a boyfriend.

“Uh, well I don’t have a boyfriend.” I mumbled, embarrassed.

“Well that’s okay. It’s fun to be single, some times.” She smiled and I laughed. She looked at me funny but then continued. “So who was your first kiss?” Her voice was pitched high.

“I, I-uh- don’t really wanna talk about it.” I mumbled. Having flashbacks of the jerk who tried to take my virginity.

“Oh, come on!” She pleaded. “What was his name?” I sighed.

Garret.” I mumbled.

“Girly you gotta stop mumbling!” Tessa exclaimed with a giggle.

“Garret.” I said a little louder.

“Ooh Garret, that’s a lovely name.” Tessa smiled. “So what’s he like.” I froze.

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I grunted glaring at the wood floors. Tessa was surprised by my action but let it go. Nearly a second later Damien and Gregory walked in with an older couple behind them. They looked to be around their late twenties, early thirties. I found it hard to believe that these beautiful people were old enough to be Damien’s parents. I noticed Gregory staring at Tessa for a moment before she got up and left. Now there was only Damien and I and his ‘parents’.

“Anabelle these are my parents. Mom, Dad, this is Anabelle.” Damien introduced. His dad shook my hand, with a warm eyes and a kind smile.

“Joseph.” He said. Joseph had light brown hair and brown eyes and pale skin. He was definitely strong despite his age. He reminded me of the actor that actually played the character Joseph on Moonlight. [Boy, that Mc St. John was a looker…focus-focus!] Damien’s mom pulled me close squeezing me in a hug of death. I squeaked before she let go.

“Oh, sorry dear. By the way my name’s Ivy.” That struck me strange since she had wavy waist-length black hair. Was pale and curvy and had dark green eyes. She reminded me of the character Envy from Full Metal Alchemiest.

“That’s alright.” I shrugged. We all took seats on the couches. No one said anything for a while until-

“Ana-sweetie, why don’t you and I go talk in the other room.” She suggested I nodded and followed her lead. It was awkward being in front of Damien and his parents, but hopefully with only Ivy there we’ll get some talking done.

Ivy and I adjourned to the next room and each took a seat opposite from each other.

“So dear, how do we go about this? Hm?” Ivy asked in a sweet inquiring tone. I took a deep breath and swallowed.
